Through the camera same 😂 I think in person it’s harder to tell because we don’t have the wonderful adjustment and resolution in our eyes like the camera does.
4:22 maybe the camera is helping me to see the slight difference here, but I do see a very slight difference in golden brown and Cider. Cider looks a tinge darker to me.
I noticed that in editing that the swatches are slightly different, but I still couldn't tell which marker was which, or which one was SUPPOSED to be which
I like the crazy colors and patterns of your dragon, I think it makes it look like one of those giant paper lantern dragons you might see at an asian festival ! Especially with the black paper as background, it's like the dragon is glowing in the night.
I really love how real you are, honest opinions and sometimes you just say stuff like "well because I didn't really want to". And that's cool you are the artist! Your voice is also soothing
"Smaugust?" What a great idea! I love dragons; they're very challenging to draw, though. Your colorful one is fun--reminds me of those alebrijes (sp?) in Coco. Whimsical and fantastical. =)
When you said, you didn't know which colours were which names, I stopped the video and scrolled back to the front - I think it's the order of the package! But I too wonder, why they can't print them on the pens, if they already name the colours...
The first Grabie ones were packed in the same order as the swatch sheets. I know this because I recently bought these myself and realized they were in order before i took them all out.
I got a sale pack of brush tips off Amazon last week (I literally can't read the brand name, it's in some kind of occult cursive so my brain has renamed it Voynich Manuscript), and I CAN'T STOP DRAWING. They go really well with Dakota gel pens. I also love the new Sharpie brush tips, but their color range is low.
🤣 It's been filled in and hopefully🤞will not reappear. I'm keeping it blocked off for a bit just to be safe. But a nice family of moles has decided its a good place to live....🙄
These looked great, but the non identification on the pens is a bit of a deal breaker for me because I will lose that swatch sheet very quickly. My personal face brush pens are berol ones, but they're discontinued now so I'm screwed when my set finally stop working.
Ooo, so I haven't made the jump to paint markers. I guess I'm just old fashioned and love brushes. But those brush tips... 🤔 Those have kind of grabbed my attention. 🤩
never heard of Smaugust before. I think every company should put names on there products espically if there gonna have names on swatch page. Your dragon drawing turned out nice.
I appreciate your review of this brand of paint markers. I am interested in using paint markers for some art projects but there are so many brands out there and I don't want to just spends a lot of $$ on a brand or brands that may not be up to par for my projects. I ❤️ the dragon u made with the plastic tip markers. The ice cream cone looked gd as well. What are your or anyone who reads this comment views on "ohulu" brand markers?
I did a sketchbook video recently with the new acrylic markers from Ohuhu. They weren't bad, but would not be MY personal first choice. The alcohol markers however are 🔥
@@RoseRequinCrafts Thank you for your reply. I have not yet ventured into alcohol markers bc I mainly customize tumbler cups n have used a few basic colors of paint markers like you find at target but not "posca" brand. I used metallic colors for my signature on bottom of the cups. I also have been dabbling with spraypaint art work or street art I think most call it and want to incorporate paint markers into the artwork somehow other than just as highlighting. I suppose like any projects we venture towards I will need to do some research lol. Again ty for replying bk so soon. Have you watched an artist on yt called AC/ARTATTACK (I am sure I butchered his name)? He does a lot of reviews with markers, pens, pencils n such. Jazz I enjoy watching as well when he does his reviews on these topics. Another is Rae dizzle (apologies for maybe butchering her name as well) and love her art supplies reviews.
@kryptonianbat oh yes, I know all of those artists. It really depends on what sort of tip and colors you're looking for. Ohuhu are dual ended with a fat tip and a fine tip. They have quite a few metallic colors in their set. Posca have the best pastel colors in my opinion and many different tip sizes. They also have alot of metallic colors. Arrtx have really nice brush tips. The Grabie ones I tested have both types of tips but only gold and silver metallica.
I’ve seen a few reviews of these and I’m not sure still. The brush tips look cool but I don’t like that the other set had no names or numbers. I guess you could write on a label or use a label maker to print the color name and stick them on each so you would have a point of reference. I loved the draintings. They were cute! 💜💜
The way we view colors are amazing. On the paper I though there was a huge difference but if you compare it to the image you pulled from internet, which is maybe more what you were seeing, I can understand why it might be difficult to see the nuances between the 2 pairs. Also, them having names for the colors but not putting them on the pens would make me lose my sanity.
Yes! Even if I magically got the colors right, I'd have to guess again the next time I picked them up. Also, I was looking at the color chart on my phone which is much smaller than when I pulled it up on my computer. Also, I think the camera is better than my eyes, bc I could see a difference in editing but I still can't in person.
I really like the crazy colorful dragon, and I am glad to hear everyone is alright, but goodness everyone needs to be careful of their arms because even my boyfriend broke his at the ball joint.
Thank you. As I said in another comment, I wasn't sure how I felt about it to begin with. To expand a little on my thought process...I do not support AI being used to create art or products, but in my mind using it to generate a reference was about the same as me using someone else's art as a reference. And since I was looking up dragons, pretty much every reference would have been created by an artist. I use references frequently and I want to be honest about that and will continue to be honest about. I have been reading all of the comments and taking it into account for the future.
@@RoseRequinCraftsanother thing to keep in mind about using AI is the harsh environmental impact it has on our planet. It takes a LOT of energy consumption to use anything generative-AI related, even something as simple as a chatGBT prompt. If you need art references, just stick with looking at art from actual artists.
There is some misinformation going around about that. The part that uses up a lot of energy is the training since so many images are processed Actually generating images is comparable to playing video games for the same amount of time
The artists that stolen other artists art, like Disney princesses, anime characters and so on, and sell it like merchandising because it’s “their style”, also aren’t trained to stole it. love the review, but Im gonna leave a dislike for the use of AI in your video as a reference image. not cool to do as it takes a HUGE amount of resources and it steals art for its database.
It's not that deep, she probably just thought it was a pretty image..and drawing it is completely harmless as she isn't using it for profit or anything like that
I didn't use AI in the video. I tested it out using it to create a reference of a dragon with the colors that I needed. I never showed the reference. As I state in the video, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Discourse helps me to learn.

I do want to say I absolutely can tell the difference between those two browns.
I can see that there's a slight difference in the swatch in editing, but in person, I couldn't tell a difference at all.
