    Zipper wallets can be appealing for when you just need to throw something in your wallet without worrying it will fall out. I’ve never carried one, what’s been your experience?

    • @mrwan7010
      @mrwan7010 4 года назад +1

      Up until this year I carried a bifold with a zipper for coins.
      They definitely keep the coins/contents secure but if the zipper compartment is too tight, getting access to smaller coins is problematic.

    • @maufotografia
      @maufotografia 3 года назад +2

      These zipper wallets sure are the most pratical and compact that i ever used but the zipper line tends to deform over time if we sit on it. if it protrudes a bit out like some designs on other wallets it would last a lot longer.

    Nice review Mark, thx. I think you’ve found the perfect balance of when to, then not, use the background music. Am enjoying the videos a little more because of that. You’re gonna need a spare room in the house for all of these wallets Sir! lol. 😀👍🏻

    I like the design of the vaultskin a bit more, as you said before most ofnthe time companies cheap out on zippers.. Yeah the zipper looks a bit cheap. But i had my first zipper wallet , its from Aer card holder , those guys really have great quality products, their zippers are always ykk(cant get better than that) been using it in a bit and man its great .

    Nice review, as always. I was about to purchase it and add it to the collection when i noticed that if US bills come so close to the zipper, then it probably won't fit euros at all.. Made in the UK with the US in mind only, jeez...! Also, you should try out the wildly popular das offene meer wallets, they are everywhere in the EDC world!

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  5 лет назад

      Thanks Andreas, there are some manufacturers who built two different wallets to accommodate difference currencies. But yes, odd that it doesn't make one that fits Euro's. BTW we have a Das Offene Meer Gun Deck review coming up in a couple weeks.

    • @mrwan7010
      @mrwan7010 3 года назад

      Sorry pal, that's just not true.
      I've been using the Nodus Compact Coin wallet as my EDC wallet for about 6 months now.
      I live in Hong Kong where the banknotes are bigger than any of the 2nd series Euros.
      For example the HK$500 is 158mm by 79mm and the biggest 2nd series Euro is 153mm by 77mm (200 Euro note).
      You just fold the cash twice instead of once, that's all.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  3 года назад

      Ah yes, the conversation is usually around folding cash once. Cash will fit almost every wallet folded into thirds or fourths. I’ve been trying to get my hands on HK currency but none of my local banks or currency exchanges carry it. I’ll make sure to keep some on my next visit whenever COVID settles down enough.

      @@walletopia Thanks for your advice. I bought a Nodus on the strength of what you said and it's exceeded my expectations. I have decided to use it as my default wallet as it can replace both my Bellroy card sleeve and Bellroy key cover plus.
      If I had a concern it would be the zipper as I can't find anywhere where it says YKK. However, as it comes with a 5 year warranty I'm not too worried.
      I'm guessing this wallet is popular as I just looked on their website and they have this in 4 colours - 3 of which are sold out.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  4 года назад +2

      There is a .5" between the top of the gusset pocket and the top of the wallet, so it's conceive-able that coins could make their way out. The Vaultskin Nottingham has a snap interior pocket that's positioned only .25" from the top which would prevent coins from falling out in the wallet when in motion. Between the two I like the leather and build of the Nodus better.

    What do you think - which one is better for coins? Bellroy Pocket or Nodus Compact?
    I'm afraid that in the case of Bellroy, I have to tilt my wallet to spill the coins? And because of this, the contents of the inside of the wallet may spill out?

      I actually prefer the Bellroy Card Pocket. I have around 14 embossed and plain cards in the middle section and notes in the side pocket. The coins have a high internal pouch unlike this one so they’re more secure. I’m amazed by how many coins the Card Pocket handles on top of the cards and it’s not bulky. It’s also easy to flick through all of my cards inside

      Ok, well I dunno about you, but the vid gets really dull when all I can hear is your AC in the background.
      There needs to be some kind of music or melody there, otherwise you feel like you're in a classroom rather than engaging a passion...
      Something I was going to suggest a while ago (but didn't) when I first found the channel and binge'd like 50 videos straight is that you need to mix up the music an bit, I almost stopped watching the vids because it was always the same track.
      I would suggest having 5-10 music tracks (or 3, whatever you feel works) that you cycle between videos, while also passively adding more to the list.
      Intro/outro music can for the most part be the same because that's kinda brand related, but you gotta change up the bulk.
