I'm waiting on my 12 foot akuma longitude spinning rod. I've been redisigning the snare build i learned from your Snare building videos. Bought some store bought snares And carefully took them apart and teaching myself how to Build those. Your videos are a major help in this process.
What day was this? Baker beach usually too crowded for me on weekends. I hit HMB jetty and got 1 keeper and lost a giant red rock crab last Sunday. Jetty got annoyingly crowded too so I left after only few hours.
After seeing your circular snare style, I made a bunch myself. Haven't used it yet since I just made it yesterday. Sort of waiting for that crab season to come back. What are your thoughts? just as effective? better? meh? Thanks! keep up the vids!
Eric Nguyen yes you are still allowed to get Dungeness at Baker Beach but in the other side of Golden Gate bridge your not allowed to keep Dungeness but you can keep Rock Crab
@@Y-N0t There is no rod count limitation on the beach other than species specific rules (rockfish). On jetties and piers it's a max of 2 in any combination of poles or hoop nets. In freshwater one needs a 2nd rod endorsement. Obviously if one is out at the beach with 20 rods they might hear from DFW but the fundamental issue is that it's simply difficult to manage a large amount of rods in the first place.
@@CL-rm6sb hmmmm...that's what I thought too but I read CDFW's website and under "Beach Fishing" they say 2 rods for crabs. Maybe the website is not updated or this has been revised? Thanks CL
@@Y-N0t I think you're talking about this section in the "beach fishing" FAQ: www.wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Ocean/Beach-Fishing#320781179-if-i-have-two-rods-and-lines-in-the-water-on-a-public-pier-can-i-also-put-a-baited-hoop-net-in-the-water
So peaceful. 3 keepers is not bad at all. Getting out crabbing is a winner already. Anything extra will be awesome. Good luck next crab trip.

KO TV With this style you can cast for farther and you can adjust the weight you wanted by adding more weight. Good Luck!
How far can you cast an 8 oz snare? Our surf in Washington goes out a bit farther.
With my Penn Rod and my Penn Fierce reel cast pretty far
My snare was getting pushed around by the waves when I was there. I was using a 4 oz pyramid sinker. Any tips?
