Unless you really want it to be more challenging, I think you should use Mipha's Grace and fairies, Quin. Mostly since you're in Master Mode, and it's going to be really difficult to fight enemies when you first start. But if you were playing in Normal Mode *then* I'd feel like it'd be too easy to use Mipha's Grace/fairies
He's not using the OP DLC stuff so I think that's fair. No DLC chests, but get to use champion abilities and fairies. It's a lot more entertaining than using Majora's mask the whole playthrough or losing the run quickly. A nice middle ground that lets him test his skill without being boring to watch.
Honestly, I think Mipha’s Grace/Fairies are fair. In theory, Link would be accessing such aids in universe naturally, so I don’t think it would really cheapen a “permadeath” (where you are trying to simulate a more “realistic” only one shot approach, so to speak) run, in principle. If you can expect him to be doing something in canon to survive, I think it should be allowed.
In this video Quin: - willingly gives himself 5 min shrine timers for a permadeath run - fights Blue Bokoblin, the hardest boss of BOTW (and wins) - theorizes about Link's apple-picking levitation champion ability - discovers Link's crouch side hops after years of playing the game - wonders if Zelda spent her 100 years learning to beatbox - beats Ganon in the forests of Hyrule with a single arrow headshot - nearly allows his insatiable thirst to parry everything to end his run - leaves Hestu to cry over his lost maracas and most importantly: - never panics at all and was in fact completely confident and composed "I'm the hero of time, not time-management"
I've seen Quin playthrough this game normally. I've seen him do the DLCs. I've watched as he sunk into the madness of the koroks. And even as he's done all the quests in the game. So, will I watch another BotW series despite seeing so many before? Of course I will! edit: For the shrine time limit, I think just having the rule that you have to complete them if you start them is probably enough. The shrines are super varied in their length, so putting a timer on it is probably always gonna feel easy for certain shrines and next to impossible for some others.
@@brianna7705 Well, none, but I have died a fair number of times in various shrines during my playthroughs. If I was playing with permadeath and was able to leave, I definitely would've, but Quin's removed that as an option for himself.
On a personal level I've done this and allowed myself Mipha's Grace but only by clearing her quest after all the other Divine Beasts just to make things a little more interesting, mostly because I feel like Ganon himself isn't the hardest boss in the game and by the point I reached him I had basically already won. Looking forward to how this goes!
Fun Idea: Take photos of your favorite places as you play and look back at them once your done. I did it and it felt so cool to remember the whole playthrough
A lot of people don't use faries and Misha's Grace in Permadeath runs, but I think you should make there be a maximum amount of how many times you can use them, and once you've used the max amount of them you can't use them again.
For the challenge I think is more fair if you just use Mipha's grace, and food. The ability would take their time to recharge (not like having +999 fairies for extra lives hehe) and it can save the challenge for any random mistake
The five minute rule could be fun, but I think the no backing out rule is already enough. Most shrines are either too short for it to be a challenge but some are just impossible to do in five minutes. Anyway I’m excited to watch!!
Super happy we back in Hyrule together again 😀 FYI each Blight gets 400 more health than the last, the first has 800 hp and doing Thunderblight last gives him a whopping 2000 hp!
@Hazel The McWitch Lynels are terrifying... ... until you've beaten one lol Once you get one under your belt, they're pretty easy. Just wait, dodge, and parry.
I do like your current ruleset at the moment; the shrine timer is an interesting mechanic to play with, and the way it limits your options is very interesting! I'd personally run a Permadeath run with no revival mechanics, since it seems a bit cheap that you could just fast travel to any fairy fountain and/or wait ~15 minutes to get a freebie. Anything else is fair game, though, I'd feel. :)
i think it would be fun to stick to those rules: 1. getting all of the divine beasts and the master sword 2. no mipha’s grace or fairies, relying only on food, armour and hearts to survive; OR allow yourself using mipha/fairies only specific amount of times 3. no majora’s mask (4.) can try to go for the champions ballad and maz koshia just to be an absolute chad (or a psychopath idk maybe both) good luck king!!!!! Hey Quin, been subscribed for a while, I appreciate all you do! Also "I'm the hero of time, not the hero of time management" is one of the funniest things I've heard.
One thing I think you should know is that the blight's health scales depending on the order you do them. So It would be best to do thunderblight first because He'll only have 800hp so it would make things a lot easier, rather than fight him last where He'll have 2000hp.
I think fairies and Mipha's Grace should be ok, personally. But it also means that you gotta make sure you have fairies on you and don't nearly-perish outside of the charging of your ability, lol.
yeeeee, quin upload. exited for the new series. Btw i´m replaying age of calllaity and it´s actually a damn good game. especially if you play on the harder diffeculties

Every shrine has a wildly different length, the only way I can think to balance it is a universal timer across all shrines, maybe 3 times the minutes of shrines that you have to complete before ganon, forcing you to choose which shrines to complete
That’s a good idea! Do you mean like giving myself a set time like an hour and just subtracting the amount from each shrine until it runs out? Kinda thing?
Here are some tips I found out doing my own no-death run: Collecting spirit orbs fully heals you. Completing shrines becomes a lot more rewarding. The blights don't have set stats. The first one you fight will always be the weakest in terms of pure strength. Keep that in mind if you're that scared of Thunder.
I’d do one fairy and one Mipha’s grace until you reach an arbitrary number of hearts…like 10 hearts. Maybe 13 because that’s Master sword level? And after that it’s just the one, singular, all by it’s lonesome, coming in clutch fairy.
I think the only place that I would worry about a game over is the Yiga Clan hideout. In basically everywhere else you can really prepare beforehand with a ton of hearts, upgraded armor, or just heal stall, but in the Yiga Clan hideout if you get hit by the blademasters that's an instant game over.
I’m ok with the 5 minute timer for shrines! I feel like 2 1/2 minutes would be too rushed and it’d suck to see you lose a save just because of a timer limit
Hey man just wanna say, I found you channel a few days ago and I absolutely love your breath of the wild content. Your commentary is hilarious and it keeps me coming back for more. Looking forward to more content from you 👍🏻
someone correct me if i'm wrong, which i probably am, but if a Lynel sees you, that doesn't mean automatically aggressive like the other monsters. i think they only aggro if you get too close and otherwise, they'll just watch you with their weapons out
I really needed new video, i have been watching again and again all the videos the last few days, it is my only joy right now 😅, I have the virus that cannot be said😂. Also love the gobbling stance
0:32 As someone who's played this game almost exclusively with permadeath for at least 2 years the idea of "no food" is equally horrifying and intriguing. Not sure how I havent thought of that yet, but brb for a few months ig
Those boulders falling at 10:41 ended one of my permadeath runs (It knocked me down to a quarter of a heart and the damage from falling off my horse was enough to kill me)
1:34 King Rhoam? That man has been dead for a long time. You’re crazy. 10:12 OHHHHH OH MY GOSH NO WAAAAY NO WAY DUDE KING RHOAM BOSPHORAMUS HYRULE AAAAAA
I think mipha's grace should be allowed and fairies maybe a limit on them say 5 or 10 and once they are gone then that's it! I've been waiting for this series. I think you're hilarious 😂
My suggestion for master mode is try to maximize use of your weapons by getting damage boosts like eating attack up food, purposefully sneaking around for really big critical hits getting the zooming bows and hitting headshots from a distance for damage boosted critical hit, playing with elements like freezing and breaking the freeze with electricity . Stuff like that will help keep it from becoming a slog with a lot of the fights and keeps you from running out of all you weapons on just a single monster camp. Also try to keep yourself from just head on fighting monsters without reason (like dont fight if there isnt a benifit and try to use as many unique ways to kill monsters as possible.)
Quin, you should 100% play Stanley parable ultra deluxe on switch. I feel like you’d enjoy that so much. It’s such a fun and mind boggling game. I highly recommend it

someone correct me if i'm wrong, which i probably am, but if a Lynel sees you, that doesn't mean automatically aggressive like the other monsters. i think they only aggro if you get too close and otherwise, they'll just watch you with their weapons out
"Just because zelda calls you "our light" does nit mean you have to carry 10 torches."
ah yes. another upload from the legend himself. i love your content! keep it up man and good luck! ❤️
I tried a Permadeath once, most of my runs have ONLY GOT PAST THE GREAT PLATEAU! The ONLY run that has gotten to the Village I am still on!
Not sure how I havent thought of that yet, but brb for a few months ig
yayy i’m so glad you’re playing botw again!!
😍 you are actually hilarious, you make me laugh so damn hard
Time to actually upgrade armor for that sweet damage reduction
Yes!
this is going to be epic
How amazing is it that Quinn decided to start breath of the wild Perma death on my birthday best present so far thank you Quinn
Happy birthday!
@@QuinBoBin thank you Quinn loving this series so excited to watch u play and I feel u I was on edge too Perma death = scary
I love your vids every time I watch your videos it brings a smile to my face and even if your vids are short I gotta get snacks every time
Those boulders falling at 10:41 ended one of my permadeath runs (It knocked me down to a quarter of a heart and the damage from falling off my horse was enough to kill me)
Been playing botw since it came out... still not confident enough to do master mode, let alone permadeath. I applaud you, sir.
"i'm the hero of time, not time management"
my new favorite quote
1:34 King Rhoam? That man has been dead for a long time. You’re crazy.
10:12 OHHHHH OH MY GOSH NO WAAAAY NO WAY DUDE KING RHOAM BOSPHORAMUS HYRULE AAAAAA
I understand baldness correlating to swim speed, as a swimmer, i want to be bald
This is gonna be good
I think mipha's grace should be allowed and fairies maybe a limit on them say 5 or 10 and once they are gone then that's it!
WOOOOOO!! Permadeath! I can’t wait for the rest :D
Quin, you should 100% play Stanley parable ultra deluxe on switch. I feel like you’d enjoy that so much. It’s such a fun and mind boggling game. I highly recommend it
I actually plan on playing it at some point game looks really good
@@QuinBoBin I think you would love it. And me, along with many others, would love to see a video on it.
@@QuinBoBin also, I just wanna say, you are genuinely one of my favorite RUclipsrs and it made my day to see you like and reply to my comment. That seems weird, I know, but still
