Why on giving light it's not having tonic constriction similar to near reflex? Why light stimulation cannot trigger but near reflex can trigger a abberant regeneration?
Thank you for the question Basically aberrant regeneration means that the pupil doesn't get it's normal innervation. The fibres that were intended for ciliary muscle reach the pupil . So whenever accomodation happens ( near reflex) , pupil constricts tonically at the mercy of those fibres that have come from ciliary muscle... But ciliary muscle doesn't doesn't contract during light reflex. So the aberrantly regenerated fibres in pupil are of no use . Therefore we see no pupil response to light Hope that answers your question! 😊

After using the bifocal, can the problem go away after sometime?
Bifocals are given for accommodative paresis in Adie tonic pupil. It takes time for it to recover...till then bifocals take care of the accommodation
If I want to go for Lasik for long distance problem,. should I have to wait till this near accommodative paresis is recovered ?
