      First off, it isn't superior Klingon technology. It's Romulan technology the Klingons stole.
      The Klingons couldn't cloak a boiled egg with a feathery down comforter. How they ever reverse engineered the Hur'q warp drive is beyond me.
      Still, cute scene.

    I can't help but wonder given the clear reverence Shaw holds for famed starfleet engineers like Laforge how he would be behave towards others famed starfleet engineers like Trip (Enterprise), Torres (Voyager), Miles O'Brian (Next Generation/DS9) and of course the great one himself Scotty (Star Trek Orginal) if he met them as well.

    • @SantomPh
      @SantomPh Год назад +1

      Scotty left the Enterprise in a small shuttle to parts unknown, so it's unlikely Shaw would have met him. The others are well known but not especially standing out in Starfleet lore. Torres' biggest achievement as an engineer was building the Dreadnought, which was essentially a WMD meant to fight Cardassian and Federation ships trying to stop it. Miles was not an engineer per se on the Enterprise, where he was Transporter Chief. He had a great reputation for keeping DS9 in orbit and not tearing itself apart, but had a good Bajoran crew and the genius that is Rom (not sarcastic, Rom is an engineering whiz). His reputation was made by surviving the first Cardassian War and then rising to command council status on DS9, impressing even the Cardassian ladies.

    • @Lightingwarrior
      @Lightingwarrior Год назад +1

      @@SantomPh first this was a hypothetical meeting, which should be obvious given the fact I clearly stated at the start of the comment "I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER", I never said he would meet them or could
      Torres was the chief of engineer of the only Starfleet ship ever to explore the Delta quadrant. And her achievements go far beyond that missile, she was promoted to chief engineer when Maquis and Voyager crews combined, over other star fleet officers who were original par of the ship's crew, which is a show of her level of skill as a engineer. Her skill and ability also proved vital during many missions for voyager and help the ship survive, just like Laforge when he was chief engineer of the Enterprise. Her part in the Voyager tale would have earned her a lot of respect among Starfleet.
      Miles achievements on DS9 and Defiant would have more than earned him a high level of respect as a engineer given everything he did. Yes he had a good engineering crew but a large part of the station operations was also thanks to him. It was stated multiple times on DS9 that everything went fine when O'Brien was around to keep things going, but whenever he left the station things started to go wrong or malfunction, despite his genius engineering crew being around", and this too has been stated multiple times on the show, showing how important O'Brien was in the running of the station. The fact that he was offered the position as a professor of engineering.in Starfleet academy again shows his level of skill and the respect he had in Starfleet as a engineer.

      @@Arfarf69 either that or the wwwwWHHHM from LotR. Some indicator sound so you can tell you're cloaked.

    "Do you know how many treaties this violates?" One since the Romulan Star Empire no longer exists so this only violates the Khitomer accords and the Klingons should be fine with it considering their Chancellor is head of house that Worf belong to.

      the Khitomer accords do not have a clause against using cloaks. The remnant of the Romulan state still acknowledges the Treaty of Algeron, so the Feds will still honor it. Picard wanted to borrow a cloaked vessel from them to spy on Spock on Romulus because the Enterprise D had no cloak of its own

      Also even if it did violate Khitomer, which it don't, the Klingons would have likely given it a pass since it helps keep the OG Borg from becoming a galactic power again.
