I have to say Mark, you have a gift for teaching that is enhanced by your humor and enthusiasm. I hope this is a passion for you because I think a lot of people could really benefit from your knowledge.
This is an awesome video. All your videos are spot on in the technique description and overall explanation of why it is used. I love all your videos you make so keep making them and ill keep making notes on your information. I know your video information will help me catch more bass and will even help me win some local bass tournaments.thanks for the awesome info.
Nice video and good tip on the 'power' drop shot. Pound for pound smallie fight like no other fish. Up here in Canada you can't pick them up out of the water, just too much fight. You either lift them in the boat or if they're bigger you gotta net them.
Great amount of information. I thought drop shot was closer to finesse type fishing, I prefer just learning this year. The heavier weight I will try. Thanks for a different perspective
Interestingly, in Nova Scotia, the smallmouth seem to act more like you describe largemouth behaviour. They're generally hanging out under a dock or around logs and will just snap at anything that hits the water near them.
Interesting, thank you for this information. Especially about locating bait to locate fish. How does this behavior apply to rivers with fast current ie 5-10mph+ and deep water 10-20'? Locating and enticing fish in those conditions seems a real challenge some days, even though I know they are there (see follow ups)
Smallies will exhibit Largemouth behavior and patterns, Largemouth will also be in packs too. River bass have different patterns than lake bass of both species and there are no absolutes. Many times, just changing color, size, or lure design, is the key. Also, stealth of you and your gear is a big factor when seeking the HOGS that lurk in odd places.
Zona's, just talks and talks, with others knowledge, presence, he's a chameleon, and I don't believe he invented fishing, or just ask him, and he's badly out of shape for a athlet,
Oh man that opening dialogue. Every smallmouth fisherman knows the feeling of going to your favorite hole and they’re just flat not there.

Great person, funny, definitely not the best ever, a copy cat, at Most, but A good one.
Man, I’m late to the party on this. Great content.
Refreshing to see proper fish handling. Cheers
That rod action is top notch
I love Zonas little one liners. “He is having a T.I.M.E.”.
Yeah I think I'm gonna use that one. 👍

Well thank you Burdette. A nice bit of motivation to get us started this find Monday morning. Good fishing to you!
I wish we had smallmouth bass in Louisiana!!! I’ve fished them in the northeast and they are fun!! They fight more than a largemouth I find!!
I live on lake ontario, and i can confirm they fight harder.

I'm always finesse fishing a drop shot. I'm going to try his more aggressive approach.
