    Tim, Just found your videos. I grew up in Broward County many years ago. I am so happy to see all the healthy looking wildlife after hearing all the stories about those damn pythons. Thanks so much for all your hard work. All the best.

    • @Automedon2
      @Automedon2 6 лет назад

      I honestly wonder if the python story isn't overblown. In a python hunt, hundreds of hunters only found 19 and Tim says he has never seen one or caught one on his trail cams. People forget that baby pythons are also a food source for many other animals, so it might just even itself out like it does in Asia. The pythons might even be the solution to the alligator overpopulation - eating the babies.

    Watching you walk in the Fakahatchee really brings back the memories. Tramped through them a lot in the late 70's and 80's didn't have trail cams then but saw a lot of the wildlife you are capturing in person. Along with a lot of gators and rattlers. Being from the North I was a bit apprehensive about walking with all the new "to me" wildlife but learned to love and appreciate the new surroundings. Keep up the good videos.

    Tim you are wise to not disclose where your cameras are. I saw a camera (the IR illuminator glowed red and looked like the foil on a stick of chewing gum in the dark) that the biologists put out on the road at Old Sabine Bottom here in Texas as I was walking into the woods before sunrise. I called them and told them who I was and that I thought it would be a good idea to move it before some asshat stole it. They wisely took my advice.

    Sorry your camera was taken Tim, that's always a bummer when it happens. I've had six stolen and and it really pisses you off. I have a lock box for one of my Browning cameras. You could bolt/screw a lock box to the tree, plus put a cable lock in through the holes, plus lock the front with a padlock and maybe even add another cable around the tree and locked to the padlock. Someone would have needed bolt cutters to steal your other camera. So they either came prepared or returned to take it.

    Civet cat or spotted skunk ! Sorry about your camera loss ... I’ve lost I bet ten cameras over the years now I mount cameras to watch my cameras it’s worked. Sheriff has made 3 arrests... sadly mostly teens.

    • @FishOnIsMyHandle
      @FishOnIsMyHandle 6 лет назад +2

      What does the sheriff there charge them with in your state? Here, any camera we put on public property is (by code) legally called "abandoned property." If the "finder" turns it into a law enforcement agency we as the owner can make a claim to it/identify it through the sheriff's office in an attempt to get it back. Even though it is rare, I have heard of guys getting them back though. Apparently some folks take the cameras, and actually do turn them in to the sheriff because after 90 days the "finder" can keep it if the owner never made a claim to it inside the 90 days. Here's a funny note, I inquired with an officer about one of my cameras and he said he was so tired of dealing with them he was debating charging us with littering for leaving the cameras in the woods, because he said technically everything is supposed to be taken with us when we leave. I chuckled, but he said "I'm serious, if you leave something out there I don't care who "cleans it up."

    Have you thought about creating a Patreon account so your 39K subscribers could support your excellent wildlife videos & ensure they would continue if a camera is stolen, etc. If only 100 people pledged $2 a month, you would soon have a nice emergency fund.

    • @ShrikeZone
      @ShrikeZone  6 лет назад

      Thanks, I appreciate that. I would only do that if I absolutely need support. I don't want you guys to sit through commercials. I'm just glad you appreciate what I do.

    • @dispeaking1
      @dispeaking1 6 лет назад

      Patreon isn't commercials. It's where people that really like you and your channel voluntarily decide to give you a certain amount of money each month. You have 40K subscribers right now. Like the original poster said, a couple hundred people giving one or two dollars a month can add up over the course of a year. It'll be a big help when that bear finally walks off with your camera.

    I wish bad luck on whoever thieved your camera Tim 😠, unless it was that big bear, in which case it might turn up sometime 👍. The bears really like your cam tho and that deer was definitely reacting to its presence, I wonder if they emit a high pitched sound that we humans cant hear 🤔. I was so looking forward to some gator action from the cam at the water hole that got stolen 🙁. Maybe the gator got em ☺.

    Sorry to hear about the loss of equipment. Those SD cards can be encrypted with some app I were reading about and trail cams can nave a GPS locator installed to track them if they are stolen. Trail cam thievery has become a booming business over the last few years as they become more popular. Therefore, trying to thwart the thefts has become a business of its own.

    How sad that someone did that to you :( Shame on them!!! Thank you doing what you do and share with us. I hope a large dose of Karma befalls the person who stole it!
