Jack O'Connell is one of those rare actors who started their career with the wisdom, charisma and talent of a seasoned performer. Just raw talent. I can't believe he's only 17 here. Incredible actor.
I first discovered him from Skins, its crazy to see him in huge movies like 300: Rise of an empire. If you haven't seen Starred Up, that's a great film that he is the main character in.
Was in this is England before this too. Dudes so versatile with his roles too. He can be the calm cool cocky cook one minute. And In Harry brown he plays a pure scared boy
Freddie and Cook are amazing. The fact that they're both in their own polarizing elements just works so well on TV. Cook needs Freddie, but Freddie doesn't really need Cook anymore.
@@misterrominade7928 No, in fact, Cook is a person who has never been truly loved throughout his life and is afraid to use those words because everyone he has loved has left him. He wants to trust people, but he can't.
Fucking hell man anyone who knows what it’s like to be there in the morning drinking your last bit of drink while sobering up, just wanting to pour your heart out to someone, this scene hits home
Damn it! Them writers did us wrong with Freddy who we love but it's all a part of the show. All seasons have comedy to drama characters, dead love ones and great stories. Same to Chris and Grace. ❤❤❤
@@Limebradley Grace dying at the beginning was actually way more original and interesting, as we finally see the impact of her death on the group’s dynamic, something we hadnt seen (or at least, not as much) in generation 1 and def not in gen 2. The fact that they chose Grace was also " smart"; as she pretty much was the most loveable, unproblematic, empathic and pretty much the « glue » that kept the group together, which led to the group falling apart and in the process of recovery. Now, I still dont know why the writers felt like the HAD to kill a character pro generation, but at least Grace’s death served a purpose, while Freddie’s one felt completely pointless.

I totally agree!
he has these little nuances throughout the show that just make him stand out. He’s an amazing actor for sure
@Elliot massive difference 😂

Jay jay too
Wth
This was basically the greatest love story on the show.
i never knew they filmed two versions of this scene, in the one that aired on tv and channel 4 stream he sings Ace of Spaces
Which was a better fit tbh
Cook: Tired? What do you mean, “tired”?
Freddie: I’m tired of YOU, mate.
Cook: What's that supposed to mean?
And, Cook protected Freddie till the end.
Freddie's death makes me mad to this day😭 He deserved better💔
Can only remember holding back tears watching this for the first time.
imagine cook saying to you "i fucking love you."
😍 I'd melt
Do u know the song in the background?
@@JustinSamways Fat Segal - Lake Control
It's manipulative here though. He's sincere, but he's also only saying it so that Freddie keeps putting up with his sh*t

@@JohnCabreraOG cook has a big heart but hes too toxic to have anyone around for very long to give his love to
???? Wtf are you saying? Freddie went through a LOT with Cook's mess.
IF SOMEBODY SAYS THIS CLEARLY HAS NOT UNDERSTAND YET WHAT WAS THIS FRIENDSHIP ABOUT.
