    I had contacted vintage king a couple weeks back to get an idea of the weight period. When I saw this video posted, before I watched it I put my deposit down. I’m 4th on the list for the next shipment.
    Detented, stereo, with the mid band. Seems like it is really going to be very useful. Both for tracking, mixing and bus processing. Thank you very much for the video.

    Awesome review. I just guy my Empress about 2 weeks ago and I agree with everything you said. Such a fantastic box in every way.

    I’m now trying to justify just having this live as my main eq on my mixbus. Everytime I hear it it makes everything sound like music.

    • @MixingMusicAnalog

      Its the best for the two-bus. The most versatile I have seen with a ton of color and vibe

    What does a mix look like timing wise for you, if you're doing a mix for a band and finish it analog, do you now have to just wait until they're happy/finished revisions and keep it up until then? Does that cause studio delays in that you can only mix one song and sometimes have to hold it for a while!

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  Год назад

      yes, you have to wait for the client. Usually takes about 24 hours

    hey dave, great work! I subscribed to your channel months ago! 😊
    I don’t have (yet) the gainlab eq but I own two 542 and one SPL Big but… until now I put them after the buss comp (plugin SSL or API 2500).. you think it’s wrong? Do you suggest me to put them before the comp as you do? And if so, why?
    Thanks and … keep pushing! 🤟

      I only put the console last because I have no choice with the way it's routed in the console. I would actually rather do it like you are.

    Greetings;
    How does this eq standup to the Audioscape eqs the you own? From what I can hear the Audioscapes sound more rich and warm. Is it just YT that's making the sound less thin? which would you purchase?

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  8 месяцев назад

      The Audioscape is a "traditional" Pultec sound where as the Empress is more modern sounding, and has more flexibility. There is nothing thin sounding about the Empress EQ. Its an amazing piece of gear

    • @gunluv96
      @gunluv96 8 месяцев назад

      @MixingMusicAnalog so are you saying that the Empress sounds as rich and creamy as the Audioscape with matching settings. You said one is more traditional sounding and the other is more modern sounding; do you not relate traditional to dark, rich, creamy, and full? Modern as more of the high mids to highs bump, less/thinner in the low mids to low-end? Please forgive me and correct me if I'm using the incorrect/wrong adjectives.
      If given the option to choose only one, which brand Pultec clone would you purchase?

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ok, let me make this simple, hopefully :)
      These 2 units are really not the same and thus not a fair 1 to 1 comparison.
      First, the Empress is a stereo unit, the Audioscape is mono. The Empress has a mid band with different shelving options, the Audioscape does not. The Empress has a dedicated tube circuit that you can take in/out, the Audioscape doesn't. The Empress is not a subtle sounding uint and adds lots of color and vibe where as the Audioscape sounds more subtle to me unless you really push it.
      So, if I had to pick one over the other, I would pack the Empress because its stereo and more flexible with ore tonal options. I can make the Empress sound like the Audioscape with some tweaking but I cant make the Audioscape sound like the Empress with all its additional flexibility.

      Its to be transparent and let you know that I am not being paid. Its a new law where we need to tell you if the video is sponsored. Most YT channels are and they are just trying to sell you gear. not this channel.

      @@MixingMusicAnalog Makes sense. I've noticed that, when something new comes out, many RUclipsrs suddenly are touting it as the best thing ever. Take the Neumann MT 48 for example. All of a sudden ( and suspiciously coordinated) everyone has one and it's being touted as the only thing you'll ever need.

      That's why you need to stop going to other YT channel for reviews. Come here and you'll get the honest truth. ;)
