I am beyond jealous at how organized everything is. I have one 3.5 x 8.2 foot cage, and it’s a disorganized mess with fleece pads in there. Definitely inspiration on organizing 🎉
@@TheTinyHerd I definitely feel the likeness to her set past and present up’s! With the matchy matchy fleeces, the organization with the bins, even nearly tripping over a bun bun 😂😂😂😂
Welcome back! I really missed your videos when you took a break from filming. Your oxbow hay looks so green and fresh. I used to buy oxbow orchard hay but two boxes of dried stiff stalks had me switching back to SPS, which was a lot greener but with too many short brown pieces. Then I met a rabbit owner on Nextdoor who buys hay from a local farm. He was nice enough to give me 2 flakes of the most beautiful hay ever in my 6 years of keeping Guinea pigs. I am in CA and we had a ton of rain this past winter, therefore the beautiful hay. Piggies are loving it.
That’s awesome! I haven’t had any issues with oxbow or small pet select, but I think there is more hay in a 50lb box of oxbow than SPS. I would love to buy local but we don’t have anywhere to store it.
The cool thing about having the glass/plexiglass as a front, you truly get to see how dirty and how much pee could end up flying around on the walls or floors lol
Yes! I actually love the plexiglass front. It was so clean when it was my only cage haha I’d love for them all to be like that but c&c cages are just too versatile.
@@TheTinyHerd I agree on that they are versatile, once I started with C&C i haven't turned back. I actually when I only had 3 piggies ( 2 year old andd her babies) had coverted a crib into a cage, it was perfect for the first 5-6 months anyway then ih ad to expand, lol then more piggies came in haha.
Wow your pigs are so clean I have 3 and they are so dirty! Your pigs are so cute!❤❤ you take great care of them! And all of the matching liners are adorable I love it so much!❤❤
I sometimes if in a rush at night or just lazy i'll put on a disposable glove, i pick up the poop with the hand and shove it into a little dustpan. annd i'll do that only in the spots htat have like hundreds of poops rather than the scatterd few, Though with my herds cage it's hard because there's 8 sows in a 2x10 and i want to expand their cage somehow but they I fear taking up too much of the actual bdrm and not having enough space ot move aroundd. I dunno. So many ideas and fears all at once lol. Sorry for rambling .
Yes I built all my cages! I have a video on the wood and plexiglass cages. The other ones are all c&c cages, I do have videos on those too but there are a ton of videos on how to build them on RUclips as well!
What tables do you use your cages on please? :) wanting to make a diy cage, and trying to figure out how to have it up high, but not too high for my short self.
@@TheTinyHerd I watched that on another video after this! Such a clever idea! I’ve been trying to work out how to do our diy set up, which will be our permanent cage. At the moment it’s a 2x8 c&c cage on some shelves, but it’s too high for me.
❤ genuinely curious. How do you have so little to clean for a DEEP CLEAN😮 do you work a job outside of this? I work full time and try to spot clean every 2days and deep clean once a week and still have a huge mess... Like I pull out a construction size shop vac to clean my cages and I cannot believe you can use that little thing for like 4poops and you're done with 2cages in 15mins😂
Just saw a comment saying you've been doing this for 8years and I'm 1 year into it now with 9pigs/4cages and a bunny (I had a pig as a kid too) but I realized you can't judge a book by a cover and you've had a lot of time to get to this point.. thankyou for mentioning that to people ❤it helps. Maybe I should make 2×3 pads because I don't have any I have maybe 3 shower mats and the rest is fleece on dog pee pads that get thrown around. It's difficult to manage while working full time but im going to change some things and keep trying
Yes I work full time! Spot cleaning everyday helps a ton, and honestly right now I have pigs that are pretty clean. I have had boys that are MUCH messier no matter what I did! I’ve found that doing small amounts of cleaning every days works better for me than taking 3 hours to clean on the weekend. You are 100% right, I’ve had a long time to figure out what works best for me! And I definitely am not perfect all the time, there are days I don’t get to spot clean or go an extra few days before cleaning cages. I try to minimize my mess making as much as possible when I’m giving out hay, etc.
In the previous video about fleece you said that there should be some urine-absorbing layers underneath it, and in this video you don't stus them. Why?
Grids were originally only 14” when c&c cages became popular, so I base all my sized off 14”. Still close, 2x5.7. It was minimum for 4 chill girls at the time it was built.
It's so organised in your Guinea Pig Room, I like it ahaha!
You have one of the nicest pet rooms. Your piggies are so lucky to have such a great owner.
Thank you! 😊

Must be lovely having the sink and everything in the same room for cleaning ❤
It is! I tried to think of everything I needed when we planned this room
Perfect timing, I have to do the big clean today too in the bunny room!!
This is giving me early day skinnypigs1 vibes🥰

You need hay in your rabbits litter box but your pig room is amazing
I realized after I got done filming that I didn’t go back and put hay in it lol she has hay in like 4 places in our basement so she’s good

Also I’m guessing you made those hay bags! What kind of fabric is it?
They’re just cotton
Muy buenos cuidados
did you build your cage? what material did you order to build the cage?

They are just pieces of melamine we cut to size and table legs from ikea!

When washing their fleece do u get hair in the washer machine? How do u wash??
Nope, not for the most part. We just wash on hot with free and clear detergent and a little white vinegar helps with any smells!
Do you not use fleece? 😊
Yes I do use fleece
In the previous video about fleece you said that there should be some urine-absorbing layers underneath it, and in this video you don't stus them. Why?
She’s using liners here! Liners have a built in absorption layer to absorb the pee.
I use liners that have the absorbent layer sewn in the middle!
30X80 = approximate 2 x 6.5 when comparing to C&C grids.
Grids were originally only 14” when c&c cages became popular, so I base all my sized off 14”. Still close, 2x5.7. It was minimum for 4 chill girls at the time it was built.
I have watched your videos on making liners and I was wondering how you get them to be so soft and flexible looking. Mine seem very stiff.
