I have missed your soaps. My mother use to make soaps and she gave me a ton. But all the fragrance has gone in her soaps. I love the sound of this soap. I hope you make more. Look forward to buying some.
Keeley, the green came out very vibrant even though it had a short gel. Real Avocado soap has such a wonderful, creamy feel to it. It is one of my favorites, for sure. Blessings and be safe 💕
Wow! I fully expected it to turn black with avocado in it. It just did other crazy things. It does have beautiful color and I love the seed on the top. So I think it’s a triple 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰
oooo. Lovely. I could tell by the top of the loaf it had gelled. Love the look of the green afterwards. I made a soap today that had the worst ricing in my history of soap making. Just wait till you see it.
@@SoyandShea Wow, I've never seen it like this putting the fruit directly with the oils. Here in Brazil we always freeze the fruit (they say it can oxidize if you put the fruit straight in), I'll try to make your recipe and see how it turns out.
@@erichteles27 I am not sure why people say it will ozidize if not frozen. At the end of the day, whether frozen or not, it is still fresh food. The high PH of the soap will protect against spoilage providing you are not adding too much
@@SoyandShea not to a beginner you haven't. Im only guessing then that what you are saying is the original water content was to be 160gr and you used 60gr for the avocado and the rest (100gr) of water...correct??? or no? Like I said I'm only guessing, you know what you are doing not everyone else does that comes to this channel..I want to be clear as to how I can make this myself...Thanks for sharing!!!
When you enter your recipe into Soapcalc, it will advise how much liquid/water you should be using to dissolve your sodium hydroxide. This will vary according to what oils you are using and what strength you like to work at and size mould you have. When you add other liquids, you need to remember to remove that from the amount soap calculator tells you you need to dissolve your lye. For example. if the calculator tells you to use 360 gram water and you have 60g avocado blended with 100g water, you need 200g water to dissolve your lye. Please note those numbers are examples only and not the water I used in my soap. Using Liquid alternatives is definitely not a beginner soap. I would recommend starting off with just water and getting a feel for how you like to soap. Once you are comfortable, then you can advance to alternatives. I would also recommend watch SoapQueen as she provides tutorial videos and also has several books explaining exactly how to use different liquids in your soap
@@SoyandShea I've made several batches of soap and am very familiar with soap queen tutorials, web site and bramble berry. I've also went to a few websites and have researched before even making 1 batch. I also understand how soap calc works for the most part, ratios, %'s etc..my dilemma is that since you are removing a portion of the water from the water/lye solution, aren't you taking a chance the lye won't dissolve properly. I know it is added back via the avocado liquid but in your tut you have added it to the oils not lye/water solution..in my head theres too much lye vs water(in your separate lye/water solution) at this point so how is the lye dissolving??? LOL sorry I'm just looking for that 1 little answer...geez...did I take a wrong turn? I guess I didn't make myself clear..oops 😬
Now you have advised what it is you wanted to actually know, I can now answer the question. In order to dissolve sodium hydroxide, as a general rule, you need a minimum 1:1 ratio of sodium hydroxide to liquid or equal amounts. Soapers often add more liquid depending on the speed their recipe moves at. If a soap calculator says 100g Sodium Hydroxide and 250g water, you need at least 100g liquid (water, frozen milk etc) to dissolve that amount of sodium hydroxide. You could then make the other 150g in other liquids. I do have a number of other videos showing my lye prep
The Ph level of soap will protect it but you have to make sure not to go over board with the fresh items. I usually stick to less that 4% of my oil weight
Palm oil has some very unique properties not easily replaced. Tallow is the only one similar. The recipe would need to be altered quite a bit to remove the palm and still get the same results
Beautiful soap. I'm confused though. Your posted recipe lists shea butter, but you said you didn't use shea. You used cocoa butter instead. Also, you said tou used avocado oil, but it isn't listed. I do understand the water reduction!!!
The recipe in the description is a generic one I added to all description boxes. I don't share every recipe I make as I need some unique soaps in my range.
I bet this is fabulous for dry winter skins. It just sings ‘rich n creamy’ . Gorgeous, thanks for sharing. 😘
Thank you 🥑
I've got one more week until I can try. I think it will be perfect for winter
Soy and Shea ❤️let us know please??
Those greens look amazing. Weird how they morph. Bet this is a luxurious soap, love it x
Thank you 🥑
It's scary at first when colours morph but 99% of the time they come back 🧡

I'll definitely make this while avocados are cheap 🥑 feels so lovely. Its s shame fragrance doesn't last forever 😔

Beautiful soap Keeley, well done. Love the colours and the lather is top notch.

I had fingers crossed it would change colour and so far so good. The fragrance was definitely a naughty one

I got lucky that the FO thinned the batter so even though it was the worst ricing I've had, it was manageable. Will look out for your soap
I bet they are going to be awesome and luxurious!
Thank you 🥑 I keep checking every day 😆
Oooh that looks so lovely and creamy. Really enjoyed the video and I too find it fascinating when you see soap going through gel :-)
Thank you 🥑
It's only got one more week to cure and it's taking forever 😆

Ooooh, I looove it. 😍

Can you please explain your calculations with the avocado and the water/lye solution?
I do explain it in the video when I'm pouring water into the Avocado

with it being FRESH avocado , does the soap go bad or have expiration date ? because of adding fresh avocado ?
The high PH of soap will keep soap safe as long as you don't add too much food and make sure it's well mixed
Love it! But one question how long can the soap last? Cause there’s avocado in.
Thank you 🥑 as long as you don't add to much, the ph of soap will keep it safe
I tried your recipe same after the trace came I convert into mould after few minutes it turn into oil
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean the soap splits back into liquid oil?
Can I know how long can the soap last? Cause their avocado fruits in it?
As long as you don't use to much fresh food, the ph of the soap will make the bar last.
Can I ask if the soap "goes bad" since there is a plant part?
The Ph level of soap will protect it but you have to make sure not to go over board with the fresh items. I usually stick to less that 4% of my oil weight
Do you have a specific percentage that you use fragrance oils at?
You need to check the supplier usage rates for all fragrances as they're all different
@@SoyandShea oh so different fragrances oils are used at different rates. Thank you for the reply
Pişmemiş sabun oldu için zamanla bozulma küflenme yapmazmı elinize salık
I've answered similar concerns below. It's all to do with PH and the amount you use.
What could I swap the palm oil for?
Palm oil has some very unique properties not easily replaced. Tallow is the only one similar. The recipe would need to be altered quite a bit to remove the palm and still get the same results
