Me too. So many so-called fashion experts always talk about drab colors like black and beige which, I know, have their place in our wardrobes. But I want color!! They also talk about women of my age (59) really not wearing bold colors, but why not? When tastefully worn, what is wrong with color?

I would put pumpkin orange as my choice with brown or mustard for my golden undertone light complexion.

A field of wild flowers has most colours, red, yellow, blue, white, purple, pink - and it looks glorious. If you wear vegetable dye colours they look great.

I know I have nothing brown in my wardrobe but I do have tan so I can use that instead. I have plenty of grey so will think about perhaps using a red and pink scarf I have. Question, in your winter capsule wardrobe video you said the ratio of tops to bottoms is about four tops to two bottoms. How would you apply that in a dresses only type of closet ? For those who only wear dresses could you do a curated capsule wardrobe video with the different cuts and basic designs of dresses?. You could include elegant and beautiful and comfortable and functional dresses usable in different colours and seasons, plus styling tips on shoe,bag,coat choices etcetera- to achieve a great look each time.

Inspiring colour combinations. As a Spring I need colour but find it hard to look sophisticated rather than casual in them. I can't wear a lot of strong colour but will try adding more pops of stronger brighter colour, and more adventurous combinations.

Thank you for your clear, articulate, vibrant, creative, color-intelligent and encouraging videos. I appreciate how you share what you do and the natural, playful and striking color combinations. I have been a natural redhead with freckles, like my mom and paternal grandma, most of my life, although now, you wouldn’t know it. Now it’s grey, blonde cappuccino, as my partner affectionately calls it (reminds him of his coffee and milk 😊). I have been a “warm spring” and “warm autumn” most of my life. Now, mostly “warm spring,” and because of the lightening of my hair, with less contrast between my hair and skin, I can also surprisingly wear some of the warmer summer colors. Even though I can’t wear the cooler colors you wear so beautifully, I can easily take the color combinations you suggest wonderfully to heart, and then adapt them to my warmer palette. Having grown up in NY in the fashion center (my dads business was in textiles/fashion), and even though I didn’t follow in my dads footsteps vocationally or ever follow any trends, I have always loved color and style. As an Aquarian, I simply am drawn to what feels creative and unique, while still being harmonious. Also, when you talk about color theory, that brings a smile to my face and heart. I have vague memories of learning this as a child in school/art class, quite a long time ago. Happy new year with Love and gratitude from here in the Netherlands.

Sorry, don't like hot pink and orange together or red and lavender together. What also looks really great with brown is turquoise, natural Southwest combination (like New Mexico, Arizona).

Ha I have been struggling with how to wear a fuschia silk blouse and blazer I bought LAAT year I have TONS of camels to dark brown ...yea!
And I have a leather burgundy blazer soooo also I have a couple of orange and cream print blouses ...will try those and an orange sweater not sure but I will see. Will also try grey and red.
My style is very classic, but with a twist. The twist is usually a pop of color with my tailored neutrals. Your channel is really helping me have more fun playing with my wardrobe.
Ok, so here I am commenting the first colour combination. I love it on you, and I generally love this colours together. But, I just discovered, that not on me. For some reason I do not look good in fuxia and brown... I just bought fuxia pants and I love them. But with black or navy blue jumper. Even if I ussually prefer lighter colours and I love beige and cream this season. And orage bag too.
My choice of combination No.5 is Burgundy dress with Orange accessories or bag… isn’t it too safe?

All my life I avoided the neutral colors, not because I didn't like them, but because everyone was wearing them, especially in winter time.
I was using colors throughout the year and my strongest point I thought it's the combination of each of them with each other.

With colour combinations I never had struggle, it always has been my strongness 😊, because as a painter (and a style and fashion lover) I do have a good sense for it. But...
My struggle always remains the shoes... I am blonde and I feel black shoes are a no-go for me. I would have to wear something black also on the top to balance but I don't. When you wear black boots with your colourful outfit, it looks good on you because you wear dark sunglasses. But sunglasses is not an item that you normaly wear in winter if there is no sun... So what would be the alternative to balance black shoes? I don't feel good with a black hat and brown boots would be much better in general for me... well, if I could find ones. These are very very rare to find in Germany and France and online too. Or you find only some that don't fit well and are ugly...
