I absolutely love this color. One of the best Yamahas ever made. That engine has so muck power and it looks so cool with the external tubes. Congratulations on a great ride.
Thank you. It was an honor to serve. Hear it running? Ha! It's quiet. Yes, the exhaust note is tuned, but the baffles in the pipes make it so quiet, you can hardly hear it. As soon as one of the aftermarket companies makes a slip-on pipe, it'll get those for a little louder rumble.
So, how does it pull? Is it really torquey? Do you like it so far? I know its a handsome bike. Did you find any aftermarket stuff for it? Are you going to put a power commander on it? Lots of ?s.. I have been checking out this bike on& off, really getting close to grabbing one
Nice. Got the exact same color with the GT package. I sold my Harley to by it. My friends think i'm nuts. The first test ride i was sold. The bike handles great. Good post.
Sold your Harley?! I'm surprised you still have friends! Lol! I almost bought the GT, but in the end, I decided the added extras weren't things I would use for the extra cost. I'm pretty much an Interstate rider and if I need directions, I've got my iPhone. And the Sirius XM... well, I had it for a while in my van. Eventually even those stations started repeating themselves. FM does that too, but I don't pay extra for it. ;) I thoroughly enjoy it otherwise, as I'm sure you do. Thanks for watching.
I would get one myself, I love that bike ...if only they put the "V-MAX" MOTOR in it. I'll be riding with my brother :-D....Enjoy and be safe out there 👍
Ain't a thing wrong with the 1900 motor it's got Brother. Plenty of grunt. If you haven't had a chance to ride one, you don't know what you're missing. ;) Thanks for watching. Peace and love.
My 2018 goldwing is absolutely the most comfortable bike I have owned and rode. I have been on all the Harleys and the new yamaha which in my thought is only a hair better than HD. I have owned older gold wings and they ride 100% better than HD The yamaha in their new age are very nice but very heavy and handle like a Harley. The gold wing is balanced far better than anything I have rode and the flat six will run for millions of miles requiring not much more than a oil change. The gold wings suspension is far superior to any Harley or new yamaha out now. So if you want to through money down the drain keep on buying HD just to say you have one!
I ride sportbikes but I want a bagger sooooo bad! I want to be able to cruise in comfort with my woman on some longer rides... I just happened to see this bike online and found your video. My fav color is blue and it looks good on that bike.... just don't want to buy a harley!
I have nothing against H-D, except the price! I got just as much bike as a Road Glide, a little more really in motor displacement, for the same price up front. But to me, the real savings comes in service costs. My GF rides a Custom H-D and I have other friends who ride H-D, and I know they pay far more for service than I do at Yamaha. Anything that says H-D will cost you more just for the name. Check out my newest video, "Real World Review of Yamaha Eluder", to hear my thoughts on it now that I have 3000 miles on it.
You won't regret it. I promise! Be aware though if you get the GT model, the Nav system has some bugs in it that they're still working out. There's a couple groups on FB for the Star Venture TC and the Star Eluder.
I'm really missing mine right now. It got backed into a couple months ago in a Hooters parking lot. It's at a dealership in Hattiesburg, MS for repairs, but some parts are on back-order until February! On the Gulf Coast I can typically ride all winter long and we've had some great riding weather lately, so I'm not happy at all.
Please remember to take the warning stickers off the gas tank. Seen quite a few bikes with them still on years later and the stickers are by then permanent.
Already done! As well as the large, block letter "YAMAHA" on top of the rear fender. On my V-Star however, I never did remove the sticker on the tank. I always kind of wanted to, but wasn't real sure how to go about doing it. It was only recently that I saw someone using a hair dryer on high heat and a plastic scraper, then finished off with Goo Gone. It worked a treat! Super simple!
I would tell people to stay clear of this bike. I bought a 2018 Eluder back in 2019. Every summer I have had to wait for parts. Had the bike for the first 500 miles, then had to wait 2 months for a new oil plug because the dealer cracked mine during an oil change. Then I had to wait another two months for the brake switch the following year. This year, had the bikes starter go out while I was in Shreveport. Couldnt find a dealer in the area who could fix it, so had to ship it back to Texas for $700. Bikes been down since August, and parts probably wont be here until late November. After that, I may have to deal with the dreaded rear cam lifter failure. Soon as I get the bike back, it's getting traded in for a Road Glide even though I hate those bikes. But I can't deal with the Yamaha support anymore. I love the Eluder, but too many problems.
need some freedom slipons im looking at a new left over 2018 for 15,500 but it the silver n black im 6ft 300 pounds so i think this bike is fat man certified lol might buy it
@@mikestowe6136 - Yes, I did. But I did not install the Power Commander V. I get some popping on decel, but not bad; and no different than my V-Star did with the Cobra Slip-ons. The 2.5" TAB's have the perfect amount of bark to them, for my taste.
That IS unfortunate. It really is a fantastic machine. It or it's brother the Star Venture TC would be the perfect machine for touring Australia on, especially with its 6.6 US Gallon fuel tank. You may have to petition Yamaha to import them. ;) Thanks for watching.

No, I had an ST1100. I’d love another bike though. The Eluder seems to be a great bike according to many reviews I’ve seen. I’m downsizing to a 650 next time.
TJ, Thanks for the video. I'm just curious on how much difference of a ride there is between your V Star and the Eluder....I am considering getting this bike....love my V Star I just want to make sure I will love the Eluder as much!
No comparison really. The Eluder is heavier, but with all the weight down low, it handles like a much lighter bike. The stretched out riding position (I'm only 5'-8") took a little getting used to, but I really like it now. And of course the Cruise Control is a huge plus over the V-Star on a long ride. I think you'll like it too.
I think the GT adds fog lights too. Im currently riding a 2015 raider and seriously thinking about trading up to an eluder, getting older and need the extras. :)
I believe that's correct. I didn't need or want some of the other GT options for the price, but I did add the fog lamps to my non-GT Eluder, as well as the aux lights.
Just bought mine. Only complaint is the lack of aftermarket parts. Only 2 choices for passenger backrest. One tall one short. $600. That’s insane to me.
Personally, I haven't found a need for anything aftermarket for my bike beyond the tank bib with removable pouch that I bought from BigBikeParts.com. I use the pouch for my FOB. And I prefer the look of the short passenger backrest with the luggage rack. I think the tall one is too tall and looks silly. But that is just my opinion.
Nothing other than some fit and finish issues really. I added TAB Performance Slip-ons for a bit more rumble from the exhaust note. Makes it pop more on decel so I might need to add a Power Commander and re-map it. I've got 13,000 miles on her now and we're still in love. ;)

The dealership in Mobile, AL (hometown) has had turnover in their maintenance department. They were down to just one certified Yamaha mechanic. Even the owner was helping him get it done for me. A month or two before I bought the Eluder I had taken my V-Star in for a front to back, top to bottom checkup and the mechanic they had messed up a spark plug and tried to tell me I had bad gas.
