  • On Saturday, August 5th, the Bronzeville Neighborhood Jazz Fest returned for another spectacular celebration of music, culture, and community. The festival took place on Martin Luther King Drive, between 39th and 37th Streets, where the historical neighborhood and Mariano’s of Bronzeville came alive with the soulful sounds of jazz.
Curated by the talented music producer, Frank Goss III, the festival paid homage to Bronzeville's rich musical heritage, steeped in the traditions of Jazz and Blues.
Beyond the melodic tunes, the festival offered a vibrant array of local vendors including a Mariano’s chef corner where we had Chef Dominique Leach of Lexington Betty BBQ, sample delicious Wagyu Frank dogs.
The event featured an impressive lineup of up-and-coming Jazz musicians, including Buddy Fambro, Marqueal Jordan, Joan Collaso, and Smooth Willie Fultz featuring Skinny Williams. Their performances captivated the audience, showcasing the diversity and beauty of jazz while nurturing the next generation of talented performers in Chicago.
Despite facing the challenge of bad weather due to rain, the spirit of the Bronzeville community remained undeterred. With resilience and determination, attendees embraced the festivities, showcasing the deep bond between the neighborhood and the event.
The Bronzeville Neighborhood Jazz Fest truly lived up to its reputation as a wonderful celebration of music, unity, and the vibrant culture of Bronzeville.

Really enjoyed the Marqual Jordan Band performance shown here. Anyone know what the song they played was? I searched the Band videos on RUclips & could not find it. Thanks.
