If I’m being honest, the remastered version sounded a little off to me but it’s dope knowing it was done to make sure the band got paid makes. Worth it
@mullenlogan20 yea but they weren't getting paid until his return in 2023...before that they didn't own the song and all royalties from WWE were paid to their record label. It's just they really were cool with CM Punk and let him use it even though they weren't getting paid directly
I may not be a CM Punk fan, but this is a respectable act. I wasn't a fan of the remastered version but knowing why it is, I can't hate on it anymore. Huge respect
Just like you, I’m not a fantasy and punk, but I’m not not a fan of this song either it’s over played on radio radio and now that punk has it again and he’s back in WWE. It’s overplayed there too. I remember back in the day when he was the second saint guy. It was a SmackDown episode. He came out in the beginning to do commentaries so they played it once there and then he did a run-in so they played it once there and then he had a match at the end of the show so they played it again so that was two hours and it was played three times if I ever hear the song ever again, I’ll be happy but I’m glad that punk talk to the band and had them get paid the label because I know the label takes enough money from bands like this.
CM Punk would be perfect to play Handsome Jack in a Borderlands movie. Dude's got the look and he's one of those wrestlers that even though he gets a lot of hate, quite a bit that do hate him secretly like him a little or at least respect him.
Hope people know that when bands remaster their songs the bands own the rights to that song. So all the copyright money goes right to the band and not the publishing company.
Thanks bro, I heard him say it, and read it too, but it wasn't true until YOU explained. Seriously though, I'm on the spectrum, so I get you might be seriously messed up, but use this as a learning lesson- Any time you really think you're the smartest person in the room, pinch yourself or worse. Otherwise why did you seriously think this was in any way needed as you added absolutely nothing of value?
How? If somebody owns rights, how can you just record it again and they don't get paid? I mean, can I just record and sell any song I want? Of course not. So is this assuming the band owns the rights to the song (lyrics & music)?
@@Michael_Chandler_Keaton When a band releases a song they get paid for sales based on the contract they have when they release it. Most bands have "bad" contracts when they start out. So the record company makes most of the money from selling the recordings. So bands remaster their albums later so they can rerelease it when they have a better contract or do not need a contract. They then sell the remastered version instead of the old version. They make more money selling the remastered version because they have a better contract controlling it.
I'm not surprised at all that Punk is close with In Living Color's members. I wish he would go back to fire burns. Or at least play part of it during his wrestlemania entrance. But at the same time i get why he wants to keep cult of personality if it supports the band
@@ryan4372 Like he stated its a license. If WWE or AEW pays and the band agrees they will be granted a license. Those arent exclusive in that sense. The rerecord parts comes in with the label owning the original master track. The band already owned the publishing which allows them to redo it and grant licensing. music ownership is a weird tangle.
Btw licensing takes a few days even weeks not minutes before walking out. They have to give enough heads up for the network (in this case Peacock to have the permission.) Punk and In Living Color being tight like that is seriously one of the coolest things ever, just like the Chi-town flag. Too bad that’s not an emoji lol, it really is beautiful.
Could imagine if they licensed the song to give to someone else. Tgat song hit and someone that isnt Punk walks out, place would lose it everyone simultaneously raining trash on the entrance and ring.

It's legally distinct now 😂
It makes me happy myself to hear this too
Because they're older, you dont have Corey Glover's 20 year old voice, you have a 50 something year old Corey Glover singing that song!
Facts. First that’s a great song. Second they should get paid.
They are getting paid? He literally said he’s making sure the band gets the money and not the record label.
