Hi - Thanks for the great video and diagram explaining how these systems work. I have followed the instructions, but the fireplace is still not lighting. I have 535 mv at the TP / TPTH terminals and have tried jumping these terminals with a paper clip. When jumped, there is no click from the gas valve opening. Do you have any suggestions for further troubleshooting or an idea what could be wrong? Thanks!
Hi @GuelphMing, Your video is really a very helpful. Thanks for sharing with us. Can you please advise me what could be the reason behind My gas fireplace pilot and flame keep turning off after 2-3 min or sometime 5min-20min later. Thank you
Thank you for watching. Check the following things 1. Pilot flame colour, if not blue clean pilot assembly and orifice. 2. Check pilot flame size, If pilot flame too small turn it up by pilot adjustment screw. Also, ensure the pilot light is strong and steady; a weak flame might cause it to go out. 3. check if the thermocouple is positioned correctly in the flame. If it's not, it might shut off as a safety feature. 4.make sure the thermocouple is clean. Try these steps.
Thanks for your quick reply and I did all these steps but haven’t tried jumper to make it direct,, after couple of on and off it was stabbed but new problem power switch some time works some time not, it’s common for gas fireplace after setup from pilot to on mode, and blower any further suggestions much appreciated. Power switch works fine as i can see the light in adapter and blower also works fine only issue with gas flame on off through the switch as it works sometimes but not always. Thank you
@@rajvyasmca @guelphming3842 Do you think it might be something wrong with the gas valve? if using one multimeter to make sure thermopole works well, it will be better.
@@lucahu yeah initially i thought the same thing but now i can see pilot is working fine since yesterday. So not sure what abd where is issue in wiring why it’s working sometimes but not always.
It’s very helpful for understanding the working mechanism for fireplace. Really appreciate it! If the pilot light goes off after releasing pilot button, does it mean the thermocouple is broken? Could you please explain a little more on the thermocouple circuitry?
Thanks for watching. There are a few to check 1. Check pilot flame colour, clean vacuum pilot if necessary. 2. Clean thermocouple 3. Check if thermocouple is surrounded by pilot flame you can either adjust position or turn pilot adjustment screw to increase the size of pilot. 4. Make sure gas valve open plus if you live in rural areas hold pilot knob for longer time to purge air in the gas line. Hope these can help. Good luck.

Hello Sir. Thanks again for your video. I followed your procedures and eventhough the switch and wire is good and im getting 435mv when pilot valve is hot.still my burner wont come on.the flame is solid blue.i just wanna ask whats my next step?thank you sir hope you will answer my question.

Thanks for watching. First of all, two terminals at TP/TH and TH need to be jumped, if you don’t hear click when you jumper above two terminals. You can check gas valve coil by measuring its resistance. Its range is a couple of Ohms. Good luck.
Love that you show hope to fix it by equipping us with knowledge on how it’s done and how it works. The schematics helped me understand it better.
Thanks for your nice comment.
You are a Genius! So simple in layman's terms. Everything I needed to know!
Thank you very much! I like and subscribed! Das 😎 all! 👍😉❤️👏

Thanks for watching. Have you used jumper between terminal TH and TP/TH?
Since pilot flame and readout are okay.
Hi, my gas fireplace turned on by itself unexpectedly several times already. What could be wrong? Thanks.
Check start switch and start circuit.good luck.
@@guelphming3843 thanks. do you mean the switch on the wall? thanks again.
Yes. Sorry for late reply
