I love The Adventure Begins. Especially the version that us brits got. The animation is gorgeous, the voice acting was brilliant (especially John Hasler as Thomas) and the way how Andrew Brenner adapted the stories were brilliant. Great review of this movie.
As an American, I think the UK Dub some of the better voices, mostly with Edward, because that voice suits his personality a lot more than our American take. He is suppose to be the wise sage of the group after all.
The Thomas Story Library books prior whenever they did adaptations of some stories pre-Flying Kipper, they also illustrated Henry in his new shape (w/ the exception of his own self-titled book based on the episode Coal where he was illustrated correctly in his old shape).
Well, Glynn was actually meant to play a part of being the plot twist character at the very end of the short movie. What the team did was that they saved Glynn later for Season 20 after Season 19 completed production instead of say leaving him as a one time opportunity and forgetting about him completely.
Andrew Brenner definitely deserves a lot of credit for this. This guy wrote a movie that sounds like it was pulled straight out of the Classic series, literally.
It would have been crazy if this version of Thomas and the Trucks including that extremely obvious thing where Thomas's consist kept changing heavily But that wouldn't work without a crazy plot twist or something lol
A really amazing film! Sure there were some goofs such as Henry in his new shape and Tidmouth Sheds having seven berths instead of six, but those things don't really spoil my views on the film! The scene where Thomas chases after the Runaway James is the best moment of the whole movie, hands down!
I really like The Adventure Begins it's a CGI retelling of the stories featured in the first two Railway Series Books and the First 7 Season 1 episodes of the Classic Models Series
@@TheSpongeBobGuy01 The cgi series is obviously different canon in context. For example, CGI Henry is only in one shape instead of being rebuilt into a new shape like in the model series.
Well in CGI, especially seasons 19-24, they did use footage from The Adventure Begins as flashbacks whenever they mention any event of the first 7 episodes. Like watch Fastest Red Engine on Sodor or Chucklesome Trucks.
@@TheTSMUFan I'd argue that BWBA goes in the trash for trying to change the formula that fails, yet succeeded in ruining the franchise because of it. Also, it's true that having to play around with the Fat Controller can get old at times, but I'd like to point out that in the first two stories he appeared in, he comments about refusing to help because of his medical condition, and his hat was blown away and eaten up by a Goat. If anything, I'd see the humor of Sir Topham Hatt (mostly in his earlier days) as akin to Dr. Robotnik from AoStH; he may be a serious authority figure, but we love to see him get some funny moments. The way he was treated in BWBA, on the other hand, was much worse than that, and is more akin to Sonic X Eggman; where he's not taken seriously, even if he's trying to be a serious authority figure.

Troublesome Trucks was from Season 7
Fun fact this is the only Thomas movie where Percy doesn’t appear

In cgi series canon, Henry being in one shape means he went to Crewe to be repaired, not rebuilt into a different design.
Since when was CGI a different canon?

@@khorcalson6656 that's because they didn't have the money to make an old shape for him.

When’s your SLOTLT review coming out?
I'm still working on writing the script, so please be patient.

Do you think they just weren’t bothered doing old shape Henry or the size of Tidmouth Sheds?
I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this, but, in my view, a few of the production members did this film dirty.
Mistery Island Rescue is NOT trash
13:49, um you said Season 6, go one step higher.
Blue Mountain Mystery is better in opinion ik this is ur opinion but
I prefer season 1
