Jim Steinman definitely knew where to find a voice for his songs, and that's a fact no doubt about that; whether it was Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler, Celine, or Meat Loaf; as a critic once said about Steinman's songs and how they were composed; any artist who ever did any song of Steinman's, that artist had to become the character of that song, not just sing that song, the artist singing it had to like an actor performing in the most lavish stage production you could ever conceive of, that singer had to be the character that the song was about from beginning to end; and that is what made Steinman's songs work as well as they did, and why his songs are such classics as they are now; so that's partially why Meat Loaf and to an extent Celine Dion are so extraordinary when they both did a song from Steinman's catalog; they became the character in that song, (and also no disrespect to Celine in any way, shape, or form, I mean this woman has the voice of an entire angelic choir, and God speed to her as she still recovers from the illness that's been affecting her, I mean it would break my heart to lose such a voice like her's, so no disrespect to Celine, but Meat Loaf was and always will be THE definitive artist that made all of Steinman's songs work as the solid rock anthems we know and love to this day).
