There's not a single drawing of this "ending song" that I wouldn't make a tattoo out of... That artwork of Travis pointing the sword at the sky is fucking glorious.
Whose dream did I dream that day? I was sad and cried Was that dream your dream? I couldn’t hear your voice Crying in Prague But I cried for no reason I’m sure of that The time stopped somewhere that day I’m certain I met you in a dream But I’m sad I always wanted to apologize I’m sorry
In more than 20 years of completing the most diverse games, this one is impressive. It's not better in any technical aspect but it holds you absurdly, certainly one of the best I've done in my life
I think each ED’s remix has some reason why it exists, with a thematic place in the story. 9/7 - the basic, most acoustic ED. In 7, we “fight” Vanishing Point, whose powers are all memory based, so the first ED playing again might be done to reflect this. Also I think it's fair to point out that Kimmy Love is "bigger than Taylor" and Taylor Smith did start off playing acoustic guitar 8/2 - a theme that is played both times Travis battles a family member, so the theme reflects a much more somber tone. In addition, Black Night Direction is often associated with the emptiness of space, so it’s fitting he gets the least instrumental theme 6/4 - the increasing use of percussion reflects the mental instability that FU is now showing. In addition, Destroyman returning as a full-on robot might tie in with the synthetic drums 5 - the most “different” theme, which can tie into Kamui’s guest appearance, as well as how Travis’ robot suit was used for the battle, and the first-person section. Plus Midori is... weird (though Velvet might just surpass that weirdness) 3 - both a warning for the upcoming battle with Henry, and also in memory of Sonic Juice, with the heavy percussion in the second half representing Travis’ new invigoration for killing FU. Final - the complete theme, which represents Travis sitting down and reflecting on everything that has come to pass
The final part is spot on especially with the song saying "Give me a break." Also it's even more emphasized with Travis coming back to the world he escaped from after abandoning it in Travis Strikes Again.
It’s a nice touch that the Rank 5 version is the only one that doesn’t have a distinct ending, it just keeps playing as it fades out. Makes sense, since Midori’s the only member of the GSC who doesn’t die. The Rank 8/? version also includes backing from an organ and what sounds to be a lute, which gives off a heavenly sound, probably something you’d hear in church, which fits for Henry as he’s now part of a (presumably religious) cult.
Idk why but when it first comes on it gives those vibes that you had a long journey of near misses nd you just got home, ready to park your ass on your couch then says to self "yeah life's good... for now."
Thank you for uploading this. This song got me hooked since I heard it on Rank 9, and hearing all the diferent versions as I progressed through the game was amazing.
I'm pretty sure the rank 5 version played in the Garden of Sylvia trailer, when it shows Travis, Shinobu and Bad Girl getting ready to fight the aliens of the tutorial battle. I wish I could listen to that version of Night in Prague as it was in the trailer on loop or something, cause I love how compared to all the other versions, it has a more "battle-ready" feel to it, instead of being melancholic. Frankly I think it would've been great to just leave it in; given that Night in Prague always plays at the end of a boss battle, it would be cool to have that "battle-ready"-style version play at the very beginning, as it could be seen as "Night in Prague Version 0" or something. The shift in tone from a motivating, action-feel version to the more reflective versions we get later on could reflect the shift from the aliens being characters we don't care about, to characters that we do begin to care about once Mr. Blackhole dies.
I feel like the first 7 ranks are just songs playing in Travis head as he walks away from the bosses. He finally is the hero he's always wanted. But as time goes on and he beats boss after boss he slowly realize s the gravity of the situation which explains the creepiness that is the rank 3 version where Travis is finally brought back to reality and realize s that if he fucks up its game over for not only him but the world entirely...I don't know rank 3 just makes me feel really nervous and uneasy...
I've never even played no more heroes and I'm obsessed with this song. Just watched some streamer play it. the only problem... I really wish there was a longer version of the original track. who was it that made this, Nobuaki Kaneko? i'm gonna have to look more into his stuff, his voice is incredible.
This song immediately caught me from the first time i heard it, so nostalgic, I never once skipped the intro and outro cutscenes.
Same!
Same here which is surprising since I usually skip that kind of shit
It's like watching your favorite anime. Intros and outros are just part of the show to me
For a game that revels so much in its own silliness, Suda knows how to grab you by the heart when he wants to

That mugshot of Fu, my god
Whose dream did I dream that day?
I was sad and cried
Was that dream your dream?
I couldn’t hear your voice
Crying in Prague
But
I cried for no reason
I’m sure of that
The time stopped somewhere that day
I’m certain I met you in a dream
But I’m sad
I always wanted to apologize
I’m sorry
Where'd you find
Thank you

this comment deserves way more upvotes, it’s spot on IMO

This very in depth

Black Night Direction is perfect imo
Best song in the whole game and it's just amazing. A finale to everything Travis has and will experience.
Rank 3 was so ominous, perfect set up for the episode that follows...
My favorite Version

the 3rd rank credits always gave me a chill up my spine,,
Honestly whenever I hear this i think my soul just leaves my body.
I almost had tears in my eyes after each one of these. So epic.
Me too Lol 😢
While playing, I never even noticed the beat was changing until the sick ass rank 6 beat
Shit got me looking at the stars posing
This song is the best ending theme for anything. Ever. It fits better than any ending theme song in existence.
Suda51 is a godamn superhero

First time I saw this credits sequence I thought “this gonna be a solid 10/10 game”
Starts off homaging Zambot 3, ends with the original Gundam. Nice job Suda.
The lights in the sky are the exit to Paradise!
This always reminds me of the Outlaw Star end credits😄
DUDE! I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING EVERYTIME I WATCH THIS lol!
Funny enough if I'm not mistaken the low rez anime CDs that was in Travis room in nmh1 outlaw star is there

0:00 - 1:07 can someone know if theres a full picture of this? looks perfect for phone background.
Its been a hassle to find all of these versions of the song in the Soundtrack.
Is there a full rip of the soundtrack out there? The one on Nintendo Melody is definitely incomplete.
@@TechnoSyndro There is but alot of the tracks have no name to them yet
That last guitar strum never fails to break me 😭
