This judgement is not fairly given if the bereaved family is not compensated by the state or Jowie's family, sending Jowie to jail does not any way take away the eternal pain caused by Monica's gruesome murder but will protect other Kenyans from similar predicament. Monica's family must get material compensation though it won't in any way take away an inch of the pain they endured. Quite a commendable job Justice Nzioka. R.i.p Monica.
That was my thought also. Justice is never served if they cannot compensate the family of Monica. Even if the guy Jowie can be jailed for lifetime, tears in the Monica's family can never be wiped.
The family of Jowie is not responsible for his crimes. As an adult, everyone carries their own cross. If it's his existing properties being seized to compensate, yes. But his parents or siblings, or even wives can not be held accountable.
There's no compensation that would ever equate to closure and justice.... Plus who is compensating??? Joe's family yet they were not involved?? How would that go????
