I think he is trying to check if someone is sneaking up on him or if everyone else is dead. Because he doesn't want to die again. Or else he won't make it to Tricky if someone is gonna sneak attack him.
3:09 Hank's rampage with this axe is the most iconic scene of this episode and one of the most iconic ones in madness. There is BLOOD on the fucking CEILING, and the choreography and the way hank swings that thing is amazing too. Kronk if you're reading this, know you did an astounding job man
@@Hydrogen70I'd take my chances on the grunt being dead. I mean, have you seen how hard Hank hits? Just one punch from him and you will be left with a broken bone in your body.
A counterpoint to the previous arguments; Hank killed thirty people and two zombies with concealed guns, knives, and his bare hands because someone wouldn't share a ghetto blaster with him, and that's before a device that warps reality and probability gets activated. The entire series has been a steady escalation in the conflict. Hank's died and come back 4-5 times at this point, his body a mangle of scars and his lower jaw replaced with a metal block at this point, and with each death and return he seems to grow stronger and faster. It's VERY easy to imagine him starting out with a body count like 32 dead in a musically-inspired killing spree.
I feel like this was one of the few times we see a madness character genuinely enraged. Like the way Hank handles everyone is just different than usual. He's trying to run through everyone in his path as if he's not trying to waste any time and just get to Tricky. Even when he died he was still mad enough to punch literally frame 1 upon revival.
Completely agree, Hank is actually twitching a good portion of the video. He is definitely raged out and ready to kill Tricky. He's not just having "fun" killing at this point... it's like if someone took hank and pissed him off 150%.
Not gonna lie, the battle-ax is one of the least-talked about weapons in Madness. The two hallways with it are real damn satisfying, and it's the weapon that kills base-form Tricky. I don't know, got a soft spot for it.
Never noticed it before, but the agent that gets hit in the face with the gun at 1:12 gets a nosebleed for a split second before he gets shot. The amount of detail Krinkels puts into this series is incredible.
I've been rewatching them & there are a decent amount of small details, I wonder if someone has made analysis videos looking for tiny details in these animations.
Does anyone else find it funny how the clown actually wants a fair fight with Hank after they crash the train? Giving him a pipe to defend himself, reviving him after he kills him...
2:37 Tricky gives hank a weapon like "yeah bro let's fuckin fight" and has absolutely no second thoughts about it. One of the many reasons I love Madness Combat.
2:42 I like the detail of Hank's fighting skills suddenly improving after getting revived, because remember, he still fights even in the afterlife, it may have taken just a few seconds for tricky, but for Hank, it could mean anything, maybe a few minutes or a couple of hours.
1:08 Hank didn’t even look back while in this room, his confidence as a killer has risen to the point that he tries to challenge himself cause no one except Tricky and Jesus can take him down.
@@trevorbeatz5741 He's referred to as Jesus in both episode 6.5 and 8, so yes, it is Jesus. But both Jesus and Jebus can be used, its best to not fight about it. Both nicknames are fine
An interesting detail you might not have noticed: During his first fight with tricky, after the train has crashed, Hank only gets stabbed through the throat because his weapon had been bent by Tricky's previous attack. Had the weapon not been bent, he likely would've been able to deflect the thrust. This probably plays into Tricky's decision to immediately revive him.
Notice how at 0:46 Hank puts his arms up in the air right as this agent walks into the room. Hank decieved the agent into thinking that he’s surrendering, to throw him off his guard, because Hank wasn’t facing him, making him vulnerable to getting shot. Very small detail, but I love it.

Same, that is honestly my favorite part of the episode, not to mention the kickass music. Unfortunately it's overshadowed by everyone losing their minds over Tricky
@@alexwong3365the grunt didn't make a death sound so most likely bled out off-camera/screen or just got lucky enough for the axe to hit on the sides of the head
@@alexwong3365Yeah, he most likely got killed and Krinkels simply forgot to add the death sound effect. I mean this is the episode with a scene of Hank missing his feet, but it's a damn funny interpretation that the grunt was lucky to survive the first hit, went "fuck this" and just played dead to avoid death by GIANT FUCKING BATTLEAXE.
I love how hank puts up with all the bullshit he has to face instead of giving up. Like hes facing a god and a zombie clown with demonic powers and plot armor and he is still willing to fight
If I were animating this (but I’m not because my drawing skill is terrible) I would put like 5 extra seconds of just tricky eating a hot dog and hank tapping his foot waiting for him to finish
And you just gotta love when the vendor wasn’t even questioning why a masked zombie clown that lost a part of his head is ordering hotdogs from him and just went with it anyway
Everyone calling Hank a badass when THIS 0:31 Agent gets a sword through his chest, takes it off, tries to backstab Hank but fails, he fought till the bitter end.
I love that Hank just goes absolutely NUTS on the agents, he’s going through them faster than ever, he’s ripping them apart, shooting and slicing like crazy Had he not had to deal with Tricky, the entire AAHW might have gone extinct that day
You can actively see hank shaking violently in this episode at the start, after he got revived. It's a lot like how tricky shakes a lot during Madness Combat 5 after he does the Uno Reverse card on Hank and Jeb and revives himself Edit: Why the fuck are you guys commenting on this or liking this comment, I was literally stating the obvious...
Antipathy hank is probably the fourth strongest version of hank, before Mag hank with the claw(3rd), Mag Hank with the regrown hand(2nd), and Mag hank with the hand the auditor gave him(1st). So basically the strongest Hank before magnification.
Honestly, if he weren’t to get hit by the arm with electrocution, and was as angry as he is now, he could probably have a little bit of a chance against one of his mag forms
@@afrightenedslothnah, the mag versions only need a single hit to kill him, they went against what's way harder than antipathy version of hank. I feel like Krinkels puts those in on purpose, because if you see how animating is done, it would be really hard to forget body parts. Also, almost every episode has some hidden mistake.
Tricky is just brutal here. He keeps giving Hank weapons and even reviving him so that he doesn't die too quickly, all that leading up to revealing his demon form.
This is the best Madness hands on, From the train sequence to the axe sequence the violence and humour is just bang on creative. And this is before the lore got too weird.
I feel like antipathy hank is probably the strongest so far. Other than 10 and 11 versions of hank maybe he’s most aggressive. And he would probably have beat 7 Hank but he got terminated before he could.
While watching this, I noticed in the background a few things; mainly, the constant telling of how the L33T crew enlists to better the whole. After thinking for a bit, I came up with an interpretation of the story (although, keep in mind; i sadly haven't watched all the series as I'm writing this.) The series is about the conflict between four individualities; "Pure Individuality", "Bonded Individuality", "Collective Individuality", and "Trait Individuality". Hank is the embodiment of Pure Individuality. He is strong on his own; no need for others. While he has no need to look out for anyone but himself, he has no complements to his weaknesses. Sanford and Deimos are the embodiments of Bonded Individuality. They support each other; while not as strong as individuals, they know this, and team together as a pair of individuals, supplementing their own weaknesses. The 1337 Crew and Grunts are the embodiments of Collective Individuality. They do not see themselves fully as individuals; they focus too much on the identity they belong to in a whole group rather than as a singular person. Finally, Tricky is the embodiment of Trait Individuality. He has a singular trait that rules his entire identity; insanity. He has no other personality traits. He can simply be described as one word.
Little boy dressed like a clown for halloween : *knock on hank, sanford, deimos house that they for some reason share for some candy* The 3 of them loading they shotguns : i chose trick :D
I like how the amount of blood that comes out when anyone is killed wildly fluctuates. In Madness 3, a single gun shot made enough blood to cover the floor but in Madness 6 literally ripping off someone head leaves zero blood.
my personal headcanon it’s something to do with hank. like, in madness 3 he’s still getting used to the whole slaughterfest idea but when he’s borderline feral here in madness 6 he would barely notice, hence no blood
3:08 This confused me as a kid and it still confuses me now. I always thought this shit was hilarious. I never seen someone’s weapon taken from them so easily
What a flex, he snatched the axe from him, kills the fucker who was wielding the axe before he took it, and then got the most kills he’s gotten with a single weapon with it
This is the best MC imo. The animation has a unique quality that later MC episodes lack, because of how rapid and un-smooth it is. Massive crackhead energy.
It also has the track train madness, which is in my opinion one of the most iconic MC themes. My favorite for sure, fits the mood perfectly for this episode. Very memorable set pieces as well.
Episode 6 of my first watch This is fricken awesome. Idk what else to say. The fight choreo is amazing, tricky is amazing, the train is amazing, Im loving it! And now Tricky has a final form. This will be an interesting fight to watch so I can’t wait to see it. Also from information in the comments I have now found out that the protagonist’s name is hank. I will hopefully remember this.... probably.....
i really love the persistent use of the "BLURAGH" sound during Hank's axe rampage at 3:09, the 2nd grunt he kills even has it twice. i've always seen it as the most brutal sound and i think that definitely helps to cement this as Hank's most ludicrous killing spree
Throughout the entirety of this episode he is enraged, hence why he is so twitchy and swift. After he got defeated yet again in the end of this episode he basically lost all motivation to continue and was basically tired in Consternation.
In wake of 9.5 part 2, seem to be right on the money. Even with the SOLDATS managing to counter and land the occasional blow on Hank, he still slaughters through enemies like he does here, fares notably better against the Retainer than Consternation Hank did (Even if Tricky did bail him out a few times and the Retainer was apparently 'too tired' to use its telekinesis.) and seems to have a slight edge on Consternation Hank when they fight, Antipathy Hank really does seem like the most effective yet brutal version of Hank.
@@lolrus5555 and he would've beat Consternation Hanks ass, too, if it wasn't for Doc bringing back Antipathy Hank. I really wish he won that fight, honestly.
@@MrEckensamba He *did win the fight.* Near the end of the fight, you can see Consternation Hank just starts blocking, Antipathy is so aggressive that Consternation physically does not have a chance to stop blocking unless he wants to get his ass beat. Even thought the fight was never finished, in my opinon Antipathy still won.
Honestly one of my favourite things about Tricky is that he isn’t just going for the easy kill, he wants a fair fight, as proven at 2:37 when he gives Hank the pipe.
What's just as awesome as it is frightening, is that this episode confirms exactly 115 kills made by Hank himself(114 if you count one that was the result of friendly fire). All in the span of around 3 minutes. 50% of those kills, 58 or 57, all happen in 55 seconds.
i like how hank can survive a train crash, being shot in the head like 7 times, having a sword pierce his stomach, having his jaw ripped off, and all of the other madness, yet all the other other grunts die after one gunshot
idk about to much of the lore but one thing I do know is that there are gens of grunts and they got weaker overtime look at madness 1 hank needs to shoot the grunts multiple times and stuff so they just so weak that hank could kill them easily since he is a gen 1 grunt
@@huntercomics1649 I don't think that's canon, but it's definitely a cool concept. It could also explain how the AAHW is able to make so many grunts to begin with. Though it's probably just that Hank got stronger, started using stronger weapons, and also got better at aiming. If you look at the earlier episodes, you can see that he gets hit a lot more than he does in later ones, showing that he developed more skill over time.
By this point, Hank has been brought back from the dead a total of four times, with a lot of training likely put in between. He is definitely far above a Grunt, and in this episode it seems he's far stronger than usual given the giant axe.
easily one of my favorite madness combat episodes. I can't believe how well the quality of it has aged animation, action and music wise it's just as compelling as it was back in earlier 2000s. The sudden cut to tricky's takeover and the perspective of the train still looks so damn cool, and Hank's rage and unhinged jaw, holy shit. It's neat to see what started as a sort-of stickman fight animation series, develop into something so much more ambitious and story-oriented. makes me miss browsing thru newgrounds as a kid.

No, I think Antipathy Hank beats all 3 mags. Antipathy moves in a way that the mags can’t quite match.
@@afrightenedslothnah, the mag versions only need a single hit to kill him, they went against what's way harder than antipathy version of hank.

While watching this, I noticed in the background a few things; mainly, the constant telling of how the L33T crew enlists to better the whole. After thinking for a bit, I came up with an interpretation of the story (although, keep in mind; i sadly haven't watched all the series as I'm writing this.)
The series is about the conflict between four individualities; "Pure Individuality", "Bonded Individuality", "Collective Individuality", and "Trait Individuality".

@@NukeTenthTheGrand yep exactly
In wake of 9.5 part 2, seem to be right on the money.
Even with the SOLDATS managing to counter and land the occasional blow on Hank, he still slaughters through enemies like he does here, fares notably better against the Retainer than Consternation Hank did (Even if Tricky did bail him out a few times and the Retainer was apparently 'too tired' to use its telekinesis.) and seems to have a slight edge on Consternation Hank when they fight, Antipathy Hank really does seem like the most effective yet brutal version of Hank.

idk about to much of the lore but one thing I do know is that there are gens of grunts and they got weaker overtime look at madness 1 hank needs to shoot the grunts multiple times and stuff so they just so weak that hank could kill them easily since he is a gen 1 grunt
@@huntercomics1649 I don't think that's canon, but it's definitely a cool concept. It could also explain how the AAHW is able to make so many grunts to begin with. If you look at the earlier episodes, you can see that he gets hit a lot more than he does in later ones, showing that he developed more skill over time.
He's built different. That's all I gotta say.
By this point, Hank has been brought back from the dead a total of four times, with a lot of training likely put in between. He is definitely far above a Grunt, and in this episode it seems he's far stronger than usual given the giant axe.
