Ben, I love all the songs you’ve been putting out. I’m only a couple years younger than you with a young daughter. All these songs give words to how I’m feeling.

Ben - You've hit the point where you're asking THE questions, about life and love and what it means to be "successful" in these times. Like George Carlin, and others who have come before...you reach a point where you're asking deep and pointedly important questions...but nobody answers your questions because they are THE questions. Love your videos about being a Father. My wife made me a father's day video with my son to "a love like this" (I think that's what it's called).
My daughter is 2 years old and every morning she asks "play daughter now" and I put it on and we slow dance. I'm pretty sure that will be our daddy daughter dance when she gets married.

This is a great comment. My daughter's almost 14 and we have songs and memories we cherish like this. Hold on tight to her, she'll be 5'4" before you know it. Having a daughter is the best though. We just saw Natalie Merchant last weekend in Milwaukee, my wife and me and daughter and 16-year-old son. My wife and I had seen her in 2002 and it was a pretty profound experience taking our kids to it this time, and hard to comprehend so much time had passed between those concerts. For me personally, nothing connects people like music can so it's been incredibly important that I can share important music with my kids. Enjoy raising your daughter - you sound like you're doing it right.

What if it (what makes a human) is neither but both and everything in between and the hard part is to strike a balance that fits your life resp. the individual situation you are in. That is perchance not easy to package in catchy lyrics or a clear recipe but maybe worth reflecting on. Great music though and I appreciate the honest words.
