Magus Magus No, I know, it’s just that if our are trapped you have to wait multiple minutes so you can try again. And why does it defeat the purpose of Route C? I guess what I should’ve said is why not make the enemies attack slower in that part so t doesn’t become a game of waiting a few solid minutes for no reason, just to die, because you made a small navigational mistake
I don’t like it when people say Route C is where the game really begins. Route C is meaningless without the information and experiences of A and B. I think of it like this. Route A is seeing a door. Route B is unlocking the door. Route C is walking through the door and discovering what lies beyond.
Route C I find kind of underwhelming gameplay wise on replay, the cutscene directing and intense moments are great, but there's no wonder to the exploration, it is literally going from objective to objective because there's little else to do but competitionist faffing about, aka all the side questing and menial colelcting you've been doing all game if you opted in doing it.

What's pretty cool about NieR Automata is that this game is very meta. In a lot of videogames, you can't attack NPC or non-hostile enemies because of a simple gameplay convenience. Most of the time, the gamer understands that it's programmed by the developper as a safety net to prevent him to accidentally kill any NPC. This was the case until now for NieR Automata and we never questioned that. But when your squad became hacked, that convenient rule backfired on you. Even they were hostile and started attacking you, you couldn't fight back because the programs inside 2B and 9S were still considering the hacked squad as NPCs ! You basically had to hack the game in order to reverse the rules to your own advantage ! :)
FWIW, if you fall into the pit with the huge ladder in this mission it's still ok. every 10 seconds 2B recovers her normal functions for a while and can climb ladders and jump etc.

Actually, the reason behind A2 cutting her hair short is rather symbolic, and perfectly encompasses a lot of her character when you think about it. Little character nuances like this are why I love this game so much. There's so much to be inferred from such little actions that tell you so much about a character. In my opinion, A2 cutting her hair short like 2B is one of, if not the most clever and emotional moments Yoko Taro has ever cooked up in all his games, and it blows me away every time I see it. I mean, you have to take into account the situation she was in, the merging of her and 2B's memories, and even her history, which I won't spoil for you, before you finally begin to realize this action was in fact A2's very subtle way of saying: "Hey look marketing team, now you can use footage of me in trailers and pretend I'm 2B." It's stuff like that which brings me to tears when I look back on games I've beaten. All in all, it was a very touching and very beautiful moment that perfectly nestles itself as A2's greatest instance of character development.

Pluto28 In Japanese it's pronounced the other way, even the staff at Square Enix calls it that way. So it depends on what you call correct. Tidus vs Teedus or Aerith vs Aerisu? Even I don't know how to call this game correctly now knowing both languages.
Wveth Wveth In Japan we use a lot of English words in our vocabulary. It's just pronounced differently. What you may call inaccurate is perfectly accurate over there due to the writing system that doesn't involve using the alphabets. The Katakana system can't replicate specific sounds like in English. I picked FF character names cuz people tend to debate over the sound. No one debates how words like hamburger is pronounced in Japan and how it's wrong. Hence I said even I don't know what to call the game cuz I know both languages. Since Japan has adopted the English language and evolved it into their own language system, and this is a Japanese game, you can't say definitively they are wrong.
@@ruihanazawa2906 Uh, yes I understand that. But we're pronouncing it in English here, not in the closest Japanese form. If we were speaking Japanese, then it would make sense.
Wveth Uh I simply gave a middleman response in my initial post, hence why I said it "depends". There is no border for languages "here" on RUclips as I've seen plenty of people on English speaking channels responding in different languages. The only reason I even brought it up was cuz the game originated from Japan and the development staff pronounces it that way.
9S' Operator 21O was treating you that way because she wanted a family and saw herself as like 9S' motherly figure guiding him on missions Her story is really sad
xD That happened to Rocket Beans, they were even more lost than you. They fell into the hole, went up the ladder to immediately jump back into the hole and look for an exit down there, they didn't find one, climbed up the ladder to jump down again, climbed the ladder up to fall down again trying to perform a double jump, climb up the ladder to fail the double jump again and failed the try as a whole. On the second try, they fell into the hole again, climbed up the ladder to fail the double jump again, climbed up the ladder, waited a bit, and then fail the double jump again. At this point, they finally gave up, after they climbed up the ladder. They put the fault on the game, not their bad decision-making. But unlike you, they had a break of 2 to 8 weeks between each episode spanning the whole let's play on 8 months.

Damn the side quests really do change the atmosphere in the game. The part with the operator felt bland on her playthrough, but since I did the side quest, it was one of the most heartbreaking moments, ya know, when she thanks us for the flower, dam i almost shed a tear.
Now the real game starts. I was waiting forr this moment! Glad you made it here. When you can, check the right side of the street in the flooded city while playing with 9S. You'll find something interesting... and sad. And another thing, I THINK A2 cutting her hair is like her way to mourn 2B, but it's just my opinion.
The YoRHa intel that mentioned Gestalt and Replicants is a reference to the first game. There were other reveals in that intel that explains some things.. won't say them because it's revealed later in the story as well since reading the intel is missable.
Dont worry the "support a2 or 9s" option just means your gonna play sections of route C as each person. It doesnt matter the order. You can just go back and forth between them and you wont miss anything.
That thing that you think is lag is actually hit stop. It's an effect in a lot of melee based action games to emphasize the point of impact of a hit. So there's a very brief pause whenever you hit an enemy. It's just that the effect can become much more apparent and a bit more exaggerated in a game like Automata because you can sometimes end up in situations where you're hitting swarms of enemies causing the game to look like it's moving in slow motion.
Don't worry about Engels. He was part of a Sidequest. But since every sidequest is unique for certain routes and characters, even though it showed the triangle button, there was no way for you to interact with him in this playthrough anymore until chapter select unlocks. If you had hacked every marked enemy in the begining part with 9S instead of stopping at 12% there would have been some extra dialogue with 21O. Also if you had done all siedquests for 6O, there would have been a more dialogue for her while you run for the flight units with the commander. Btw that WAS 6O or rather her voice that was talking to you when the Bunker blew up. It was just because of all the explosions and interference, plus the virus taking over, that her voice got distorted and she sounded like a little girl.
Welcome to the S-Storm XD, this game is amazing, some side-quests were missed the first 2 times but they weren't TOO important, one was very good but it won't take away from the game. The one involving the Amnesiac Android wanting to find the killer of her friend.
Just a quick tip, always pick up the items and chips the enemies drop. The farther you progress in the game the better chances for high end drops and low slot chips.

9S' Operator 21O was treating you that way because she wanted a family and saw herself as like 9S' motherly figure guiding him on missions
Her story is really sad
xD
That happened to Rocket Beans, they were even more lost than you.
Route C: welcome to the end of the intro of the game :) hahah
1:09:34
We didn't overhype, it only gets better from here.
I love the"this is not how videogames supposed to be" "what is going on!?!" reaction ha ha so good
Marz: "I'm going to support....A2?..." *confusion tears* :(
A2 and Pod042's relationship is kind of precious
@ 47:20 - 2B's look of horror waking up from a nightmare where she was wearing pants lol
By the sound of it, it's the "Chipmunk" virus that has infiltrated the bunker at 49:45 lol
Who you choose to support doesn't change the story. It's just so you can choose between A2's melee combat or 9S' hacking.
MINOR SPOILER ABOUT SUPPORT DECISION
don't worry, you are going to support 9S, so you not going to miss any content of the game. You just choosed the order of events by picking A2.
Watching this on my lunch break, time well spent
“So what happens to us?” Exactly.
2:33 lol, that intercom message calling for the server administrator due to "capacity issues"
Thank the lord, thought I was gonna have to wait a week for the next episode 🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌
I also thought the same thing xD
1:00:48 yeah, I also fell into that hole, but you can actually climb back, if you wait for one of these moments when 2B kind of pulls herself together and can sprint and jump for a short period of time, that's when she can climb the ladder
"I hope you guys didn't overhype it a little bit"
Why would we overhype a section of a game that's already hyped *Marz baby YOU GOT A INTENSE EMOTIONAL STORM COMING YOUR WAY!!!!*
Nice going Marz on the Playthroughs, not just this but the others been a pleasure watching you play these games as you have a different aspect when you do it. Your sincere and thats a good keep going and i'll keep watching
It boosted their morale because they're born to protect human, without any human means they have no point to exist. Knowing there are still humans on the moon give them purpose to fight and exist.
This feels like season 2 of a show. Well done
A2 the God. Now the game truly begins...Ah, Route C is devastating. Just devastating.
Damn the side quests really do change the atmosphere in the game. The part with the operator felt bland on her playthrough, but since I did the side quest, it was one of the most heartbreaking moments, ya know, when she thanks us for the flower, dam i almost shed a tear.
I cant believe you abandoned 9S in his time of need
I love your content marz your so good at making videos ☺
I love A2. I love 2B. I love this game. Enjoy the game.
I love this let's play so much, thank you for letting us experience this with you!
I played the game too long ago, what do you find there?
@@corvin_7 2B's ship.
@@combobreaker9618 ah ok I forgot about that tbh
I've finished this game 3 times and I had no idea
same
The YoRHa intel that mentioned Gestalt and Replicants is a reference to the first game. There were other reveals in that intel that explains some things.. won't say them because it's revealed later in the story as well since reading the intel is missable.
Marz: "God she's such a bad-ass, i miss 2B"
Me:...
OMG.. I'm waiting for the next one!! I'm gonna put some popcorn in the MW.. awesome gameplay!!
I had the same reaction as 9s. First time I saw this. I was like, "Waaaarrarghhh!!!" and them my living room collapsed
I think all of us were waiting for this moment.
>I don't know what's right or wrong anymore
Yoko Taro's depressed laughter could be faintly heard at that moment
I really love your demeanor when you play through. Definitely subscribing (:
Woah back to back videos! You're really digging into this game hahaha
Marz: Nothing is going to come between 9S and 2B. Not even a fucking earthquake!
A2: Lmaooooooo
Thank you. Im reliving this game, through you. :)
So spot on, with ya reactions
And here come the tears...
That moment I was waiting finally arrived. Now this will be very good.
lol the look she gives the camera when she says shes gonna support A2
Thank u so much for this video Marz :))
Route C hype! This feel trip is only at the beginning!
Welcome to the S-Storm XD, this game is amazing, some side-quests were missed the first 2 times but they weren't TOO important, one was very good but it won't take away from the game. The one involving the Amnesiac Android wanting to find the killer of her friend.
Such a great game 👌👌👌💖💖 Also, your perpetual confused look seems like your trademark at this point.
Keep playing!!! the best game I’ve ever played!
NieR Automata is one of the best games, I want see more, I can't wait
Thank you for playing , i really want to play it again
24:20 - "She's such a badass. I really miss 2B."
Me, too, Marz. Me, too.
well they are basically the same but with different equipment xD
Just a quick tip, always pick up the items and chips the enemies drop. The farther you progress in the game the better chances for high end drops and low slot chips.
nooooooo! you should have let him talk lol i love this initial convos between A2 and Pod 042... oh well. Thanks for the amazing vid!
It should start back up when I turn the game back on
Loving it so far! Please, please, when yo uplay as 9S, go to the Flooded City and check near the water, near the bridge for a broken flight unit
Finally😄😄😄 I've been waiting so long for route c!
Marz the legend 👏👏👏👏👏
Hey Marz! I have just found your channel and I just wanted to say that I love your videos, your genuine reactions and personality! It is so refreshing to see you enjoying and playing games that you really want to play. Nier is a true masterpiece! Btw this game story is connected to Drakengard if you want to search a little bit. GLORY TO MANKIND!
Now we see why 210 was treating 9S as a child, it was the machines mocking him.
Like others have said supporting a2 or 9s is just choosing in which order you play things.
I do advise finishing all a2 events first thought
holy shit so quickly a new episode? Hell yea!
This is amazing. Loved this intensity brb gonna go redo the chapter
LOL the end of this episode
Now that the real game begins
I'm on route C and its getting crazy. I won't spoil it for you but get ready for the story to really speed up. Good luck 😊
Awesome. Well, you will get answers to some of your questions soon. But, you will also get more questions. Lol. This game was so much fun.
Emmmmmm yeah!! That was crazy!!!
Keep on going, it will be worth it. The problem is that cause you are sharing your gameplay you´ll also want to entertain us, i think games have to be played at the rythm you feel confortable with and i guess it´s hard in this conditions. But i´ll follow your playthrough Nier: Automata. Cheers
Start of game. Marz slaughters 50 innocent machines having fun in an amusement park. “I have to do it.“
Mid game. Marz slaughters 100 machines in a forest that she could run past. “This is terrible. And 9S knows, but he does it anyway.” (Who was controlling 9S?)
End game: locked in a room with 50 murderous androids. “I don’t think I’m supposed to kill them.”
PLEASE PUMP OUT THE VIDEOS BABY
I think Operator 210 is talking to 9s that way because she doesn't want to lose him, and last mission they almost did when Eve infected him :( I do wish she had completed more side quests up until this point...missed 80% of side quests :(
that was insane
Woooow
THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE!!!
Also the machines are not innocent, in an interview with Yoko Taro the machines going berserk isn’t the anomaly the machines being peaceful is the anomaly.
Congrats on finally making it past the prologue!
