selena has a disease called lupus wich gives her a hard time with her breath. she runs out of breath alot faster than other artists and she gets really bad anxiety. however when she's on tour and she's comfortable she actually has an amazing voice. however comparing selena to other artists is rude. no she can't belt like adele or hit high notes like ariana because that's just not in her vocal abilities. not everyone has to be able to sing like ariana to be good. she has a soft and precious voice. and you either love it or hate it. but she can in fact sing.

Purposeauhl there's different types of Lupus and people experience it differently. Gaga has learned how to deal with it during singing and knows how to control it while selena hasn't yet. She's still very young and trying to control it so dont even compare her to gaga.

Selena has a very soft and gentle voice. Although after lupus her voice hasn't been the same, her technique has improved and she makes songs that seem to better suit her voice which is a big improvement.

I think she has a sweet tone to her voice, but she is very weak vocally. She can't project at all without forcing her notes and going sharp or flat. Now if she sings quietly and stays locked in her head voice for high notes, she sounds better and hits notes with a little more ease. She is able to carry a tune. She's not tone-deaf. But she can't sing loudly from her chest. And that's okay. Not everyone has a strong chest voice. Also, I think she tries to sing outside her natural range too often. She is not a soprano by any means. Alto is more suited for her. She needs to stay away from high notes because she clearly is not strong enough to reach them. She sounds better in her lower register. She said that for her album Revival she was finally figuring out where her strengths are with her voice and was using those strengths to her advantage in this album. But I still think she's not singing where she comfortably can. She is not the greatest singer, but I don't think she's nearly as bad as what most people say. I think she sounds that way because she continues to misuse her voice
and so she's not reaching her full potential. She has some amount of talent. She just needs to learn how to make the most of it to sound her best. She will probably always be a weak vocalist but that's okay too. Not everyone can be a Christina Aguilera. Leave Selena alone. She's only doing what she loves to do. Who are we to tell her that she cannot be a singer? If she's passionate about it and it makes her happy, then she should do it. End of story. It's not our place to decide whether she belongs in the music industry. There's much more to music than just the vocalist. Let's appreciate all aspects of the music we listen to. She does not actively suffer from it though and stop comparing singers to each other because they don't have the same vocal range. Just because Lady gaga is good, doesn't mean Selena is bad.
The symptoms of Lupus consist of: Getting very tired easily, prolonged or extreme fatigue, chest pains when she takes deep breaths (when she sings...DUMBASS), etc.

I love her so much, one thing i hate is when people say she cant hit vocals like demi or ariana. She is unique in her own way. She doesnt have to hit high notes just because ariana or demi do.
