A lot of us around the world have been waiting in the OEM/3 Piece conversion to become a "trend". There are so many great OEM wheel designs that just come in horrible offsets/sizes. Great content.
Been catching up on your Japan vlogs and it has been nothing short of amazing. Like everyone else have been saying the production and quality of your vlogs have been top notch and only getting better. Really enjoyed the roll-in shots in this one. The framing and still camera shots are very reminiscent of the filming technique used by Ozu. Keep up the good work Joey!
Great video, you deserve more subs Joey. I really liked the 400R replica, something about the R33 always grabs my attention. Probably because it was on the cover of the HKS Goods Master back in the day when I started working there and was a halo car. My brain was so confused by the wheels on that Ishikawa S13. I was like, I know this wheel but I don't know at the same time LOL. It probably would never have dawned on me if you did say what it was!
Some very nicely done cars, barring the excessive camber. Modified cars need to stay, stance, definitely not so much. The 400R at 6:10 is slightly heart breaking, whether it's a real 400R or replica.
I agree with Der your production is really something else….might I make a suggestion but have you ever thought of becoming a travel blogger instead? you probably don’t want to hear that as I can see your all about car scene but seriously I was more interested on your day to day travels and hanging out at restaurants shopping etc…..Like maybe expand outside of the car realm and do the whole touristy thing in Japan more shopping eating ….more people need to see your content which to me has this Asian American California vibe to it.
I don’t exude enough excitement to be a travel blogger and I honestly would be bored out of my mind doing it. That’s why I’ve always just included snippets in all my work of regular life even though in the beginning no one really understood or cared for the noncar stuff. The production definitely helps when I’m fully invested in the product and I don’t know if just travel stuff will do it for me. I do appreciate the kind words though and I do take your suggestion as a compliment as well.
Going to wekfest San Jose for the first time can anyone tell me if it’s safe to park around the local lots w our beloved custom vehicles or should I just take the daily?
@@THECHRONICLES I’m driving from 2 hrs away so I don’t know if they have car break ins considering it’s the Bay Area - I’ll just take my daily- sad times when we have to consider that.
I would never want to own anything that Clean, for the simple reason I wouldn’t want to Drive it in case I got it Dirty, it would end up just being an Ornament, just something to look at, which would be Crazy, a car should be Driven, not just looked at, take care people.
It’s sad to see you gloss over the VW’s. You can’t call yourself a car guy if you can’t show everyone love. I’m not a Honda guy but I watch your videos because I’m a car guy and see the beauty in every build I see. We all take ideas from each other and make it our own for the love of the game. 2 & 3 pc converted factory wheels was a German vw thing 10+ yrs ago now. Of course Nardo grey is an Audi color. BBS’ is a vw & bmw thing being they came stock and was easy for companies to make bigger lips for. At the same time the euro car guys are rocking Japanese wheels on their cars. I’m rocking Tom’s C7R’s on my Jetta. My point is to ask you to show the less popular cars (less popular to the majority of your viewers) please. I’d love to see that Berg Cup inspired MK1 Golf you faded away from. Or that old 5 series BMW. Or that mk1 scirocco that was outside in front of the white integra. Thank you, Ras
There are cars at this event that I have covered before in previous years of Wekfest Japan that I don’t go over again because they have either been covered in photos or video in the past. If you want to see them, go over the older content. I can possibly cover everything at this event because the videos would be too long and it’s also more work on my end.

Everything about this video is TOP!! The cars, the vibe, the music, the cinematography, everything!
Thanks Der!!
His vids are outsourced to production company
What lol
"Quality of cars is always going up, because it's Japan after all" couldn't have said it any better 👏
the best coverage of wekfest!!!! amazing job!!!!
Thank you!
always enjoy the roll in/roll out footage.
It's good to see these types of videos again, projects under repair and already finished

I would like to see ek9 wheels in a 3 piece 16 inch over size
The best car there was that widebody s14 kouki with the giant wing on the back… the white and red one. 🔥💯
Another therapeutic session 😌 ✨️ Awesome work Joey! 👏
thanks to you Joey as usual for sharing it's a great moment in Osaka. 😄🇯🇵
The level of clean is close to perfect.
Some of the best looking jdm cars in the world 🌎 thanks Joey.
Love the s2000, and the ae86 sick
Most favorite are the integras
Amazing work on the Comptech ITR. Even has a Rear Cali plate. Amazing!
Those AE86's. Sheeeeeeeesh! There's quality, and then there's Japan quality. Supremely A+. Great video, as always.
Joey! i'm glad you were able to enjoy wekfest japan! The video made me feel if i was in japan! Best POV video
The details these guys put into their cars is a whole different level. Love it!
You know it's going to be a good video when it opens with 86es
Quality of the cars is really over the top
Just looking at this beautiful cars it’s makes me nostalgic, amazing car show I wish I was there 👍🤙
Thank you for your service!
Another epic episode...thanks
17:00 that engine bay raw as f*ck!! That's what I like. Shaved bays and tucked stuff are very very nice but man nothing beats a "Raw Heart" haha.
Keep up the good work Joey loving the content
Sick. So happy you're back in Japan!
top tier cinematography
Wekfest is amazing. Gotta go someday
thank you for the Wekfest Japan coverage Joey!
Great vid all the way round, not surprised bro hear you used to judge

Fantastic content. Love it
I keep telling people, The Chronicles vlog Don't miss !!!
I would go back too with all them clean jdm cars!
Now I’ll get a good nights rest knowing I watched a CHRONICLES vid🤙🏼
First video i see on your channel and I’m subscribing. Love seeing the OG japan car culture.
Great content as usual, the car's rolling out was sick..

I miss japan, not only the cars but the culture❤️

Not a lot of cars that Ray's wheels don't look good on. Sick upload thanks! 🙏
The Japanese are next level with their attention to detail. Whoaaaa
Semart wooooooi🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great to see you can just walk around and enjoy the show, what camera/gopro are you using?
Super dope content this is what I love about Tokyo JDM heaven much love from Sunny San Diego!!🤙💯

Amazing content as always. Any idea on if the owner of the Levin at the start without the pop up head lights (the first one) has an IG account?!
yes we back =)
I hope this is just part 1 because the best EJ1 builds in Japan was there!
It’s not lol
That EF Sedan at 5 mins > any new car
Красивые авто, видно что проделана большая работа
How do i get jdm parts or finding out about the brands they have out their
22:00 what wheel on bmw?

So sad to see that renown wheel in that crazy Type R
USDM Ep3 @ 23:05. What the heck....
23:41 Hello, your videos are very good, what lens do you use for these shots?
Varies between a 24-70mm and 70-200mm
@@THECHRONICLES Thanks🙏🏻
I’m always surprised that I don’t see any GC8/GF8’s at events like this!
Yeah I don’t see them that often anywhere out here
Damn im loving that levin hard.
Joey which other events in Japan will you be covering this summer?
I’m not doing anything in Japan in the summer lol, I’m going home
BTW - the Toyota coupe you didn't recognize (@17:45), was a Celica 🤓
It’s not actually, it’s a Toyota Corona. I just can’t say the name cuz it demonetizes my video.
Thanks for putting Japan in our pockets, really great eye for cars. Do you happen to know the IG for the grey s2000 on CE’s? So 🔥
You’re welcome! His IG is @koji_s2ki
What kind of front end swap was that on that civic at 20:10?
It’s just aftermarket headlights, a boser-style hood and oem grille
Idk im kinda diggin the 3 piece stock rim conversion trend🤔 every dam ride in this vid fxks 😂💪🏽
anyone know the instagram for the nardo grey nsx?
Rx7 🔥
Going to wekfest San Jose for the first time can anyone tell me if it’s safe to park around the local lots w our beloved custom vehicles or should I just take the daily?
I guess that depends on where you’re staying

14:39 where are the wires ??? tho
Mostly hidden from view. Also the car is carbureted so it doesn't require much electronics to run.
Japan is so far ahead in car alot of things but especially these cars.
did you sell your sticker brand cause i some
Why don't they have wekfest Australia?
It comes down to logistics honestly.
Think that’s a s15 swap in that first s14
Nice
Aw come on. You skipped the mk1 gti twice! 😄
Cambergang aka excessive inner tire gang
👽
