You look really happy in these Japan videos Joey. Life has been rough lately, it is nice to see people doing things they enjoy with people they care about.
It really is crazy how much work the Japanese put into these rides. However the thing that irritates me is over in the states they try to put as much time, money, and effort into their Itasha builds. But it seems no matter what or how much time they put into these rides they still get some type of hate and get comments like "you did it wrong" even when it's done properly.
I like Itasha race style builds. Yanagi's EG6 is the best example, it's clean and simple. Not too in your face about anime, it blends motorsport and anime together
We enjoyed the coverage, we get a lot of hate here in the states for doing Itasha wraps. But at the end of the day its about what make you happy. People forget the cultural differences we have in America vs Japan. We hope one day we can attend this event in person.
@@XpressSkins Well also keep in mind that's this is not the only Itasha event in Japan there are plenty that take place all around the country every year.
Itasha stuff doesn't really do anything for me by itself but it's super dope when it's on a well-built car with a well designed and crisp livery. Getting a cohesive and clean feel out of such a generally busy and wild style is really impressive.
So many cool whips! I really enjoy the itasha style! Always doing the most Joey-san, really enjoying the content appreciate the grind my G. "NO RIVAL NO EQUAL"👌
I used to be a huge fan of Itasha. But as years go by, I realized that JDM cars are the best type to do this kind of wrap. The only exception to that rule is Goodsmile Racing race cars in Super GT.
That's what I like so much about Japan is that people do what they want and what makes them happy and it gets 0 Hate. In the U.S. you have people that say that they're a car guy but then talk down about cars because they "aren't fast". So don't go out and buy that car that you want go out and buy the same car as everyone else and make it different... SMH
Nothing wrong with hating on something, you just don't bother with it. Its the people that think they need to announce the hate on social media or in person to boost their ego and already non-existent self esteem; these guys are the real problem in the U.S since they hide behind a screen leaving little to no consequences for their actions. I personally don't like Itasha so I wouldn't attend these events but there no need for me to spread negativity and bad mouth anything.
@@ChicaneMedia Cute but that's not true. I still stand by my comment. I hear A LOT in the U.S. "why would you put rims on x" or "why would you work on that car it's slow". That's hate. There are a small number of imports that are "ok" to mod and if you do something different you get HATE. If you mod a car has a hobby to keep you busy ( what is the definition of a hobby 🤦♂️). But if you keep to yourself you get HATE. If you say True Facts about a car or about cars you get Hate. It's nice to see people work on and mod cars that they LOVE and not for the EGO. When someone does something different that's because they Love the car and want to have fun with it. In Japan that OK. In the U.S. it isn't.
@@MattMatt77 No dude, you're not getting what I'm saying and you probably didn't even read what I said. There definitely hate in the US and Japan but the big difference is people in the US need to announce they hate your mods and car in person and on social media. In Japan its probably less common. In no way shape or form is it "cute" I am agreeing with you. There is no such thing as "no hate" in this world I'm just saying people in the US tend to need to spread the negativity on social media and in person while people in Japan tend to keep thoughts to themselves and respect one another for their creativity. Like I know you didnt read my comment because what I said is 100% true, so before you give me your thoughts again please read it lol
itasha is getting more popular in the states and more people are starting to accept them as anime is becoming more mainstream and being a weeb isn't as looked down upon as in the past. Going to comic and anime cons the last couple years, people really enjoy them.
The Itasha scene in Japan blows the US completely out of the water. Seems like the owners over there tend to be older so maybe they have more money to put into the builds.
Ehh it’s more of a cultural thing and him just being a bodyshop owner. If it’s done with ill-intent that’s one thing, but he’s not. He’s also the first person to lend a hand and help fix a stranger’s car too. If you want to be annoyed then that’s fine too.

Thanks, yeah it’s been fun here and I’m glad it shows in the videos!
That's the best itasha event I've seen so far. Professionally done, no weebs.
They are still petrolheads at heart after all. Maybe they are just interested in anime, that's all.

Thanks again Joey for a fantastic video! You’re really spoiling us. I think people forgot that this content is free!
Costs me a lot of money though haha
WOW!! Thanks for covering this event. It’s good to see a different side of Japanese car culture.
Itasha has always been a thing since early Y2K, especially thanks to the exploit of Hatsune Miku and BMW in Super GT since 2007 iirc.
The kawaii fitment guys are so nice, they sent me an extra sticker as a “thank you” for ordering from them haha
These enigne bays are more cleaner then my dining table
That 350Z with the 997 GT3 bumper twisted my brain around for a second.
Thanks for spending the time going to these shows and sharing with folks like me who will probably never get to see them in person.

Sadly this was the last ever Daydream event

These Japan videos are great .
The vibe in cars with anime livery is just crazy
"Oh, flare on flare. Rick Flair." I'm ded 🤣
Thanks Joey !! It was cool to see you surprised so often ..

Amazing job capturing everything. Definitely open my eyes and made me appreciate some of the built quality.
That air duct you can usually get from aircraft vendors. Scat tubing.
Man those are some really cool cars. Spotted a CL7/CL9, one of my favorites

Your content is always great quality!
Love yanagi’s civic. Be fun to see a drive by style interview with him and his civic.
I am not typing out the translation for that lol
"the owner, she really likes going to school" LMAO!
swift goes real hard

love this stuff
Itasha wraps remind me of the crazy signatures that people would use on message boards back in the day 😆
Itasha or "ugly" car liveries are a flex in Japan. The less pixelated the vinyl graphics are, the more it costs.
Awesome video 🔥🔥😎💯🔥🤘✌️
10:30 Title is Shoujo Kageki: Revue Starlight (it has an anime but a mobile game first)
Basically its girls fighting with handheld weapons on stage
A lot of beautiful cars I love stance cars

Wow 😌😌😌
That HKS Celica is hella rad
I love itasha, but I want more dekotora trucks.

And they have better understanding and resources to pull off the style better.
Ric flair ? Wooooooooo!!
Sammit and norriyaro like these kind of car shows....
Yasu touching the cars.
Oh nice car🎉 🎉
Any pictures of the orange DC2 at 5:14?
I expect an IS300 wagon to join #itasha game.
👍 😎 🙏
If I want a o order these stay vinyl wrap where can get it.
🔥🔥🔥😍
8:12 anyone know who the owner of that EJ1 is?
Miss the little info blips that would come up
So instead of me just telling you the info now you’d rather try to read it and miss what you’re looking at? Haha

Hello my fellow weebs lol

Am I the only one annoyed by the guy touching every car at the show?
