      Get a steering damper. I love my ‘17, but Yamaha should be selling these with a factory damper.

      illproducer the jerk motion on your upshift is because you’re up shifting too slow. If you want I recommend getting a quick shifter. Yamaha has it for the R6 for $200. Rev matching is more for when you shift down. Pretty easy and fun once you get the hang of it. Just pull in the clutch, give it a quick blip and press down on the shifter all at the same time.

But as you said. Sportbike life. Anyone looking for a street bike I'd say get the mt07, sv650 or z650. Mt09 is a good choice too.

    going from a 300 to a 600 you got balls. keep practing and all wil be fine. you will learn to shift by the engine sound. with this bike make no sudden movements as it responds very quickly. if you have issues most tracks offer classes which will learn a lot about sport bikes. we all start somewhere. I now ride a 1000cc bike. daunting at first but now easy

    Lol speaking of flatfooting a ninja 300. Normally, my heel(s) is/are slightly lifted but I can flatfoot my ninja 300 with slight effort. Backing up on the 300 isnt the easiest so I don't plan to even back up my new 600cc sitting on it.

  • @patrickmba7638
    @patrickmba7638 Год назад

    Just came across ur channel couple of minutes ago. Coincidentally I'm on a Ninja 300 and this is my first season of riding. Interesting what u said about d riding position of d R6. I've already started doing research on what my next bike will be and I quickly realised that although I love the look of sports bikes, i might not be able to go with a Supersports exactly because of the riding position. In my late forties, so comfort is a major consideration for me. I also discovered that the CBR650R might be a nice middle ground. Nice looks but not too aggressive a riding position. Anyways, how's it going two years down the line? U coping better with d ergonomics?

    • @illproducer
      @illproducer  Год назад

      A naked bike would suit your needs as an upgrade from the ninja 300. However, I’m very used to the riding position of the R6 and I have done some extensive touring on it (stay tuned for new videos on that) The ergonomics really suck if you are in stop and go traffic. I personally love sport bikes for their performance and of course looks, but it all depends on what type of riding you are into. For most people a naked bike checks all the boxes for a great sporty street bike

    • @diamondheat9
      @diamondheat9 4 года назад +1

      Don't upgrade the oil to anything synthetic or synthetic blend. The oil in new bikes is a special blend designed specifically for break-in so if you decide to change oil earlier and not by the dealership stick to conventional as it is ideal for proper break-in. After 1500 miles or higher you can switch over to synthetic as the transmission/clutch and engine should be broken in. The synthetic might make it easier to shift into neutral.

    • @illproducer

      Every time you fill the tank reset your mileage counter, the bike is good for around 120 - 130 miles depending on the way you ride. Also, you can move the bike back and forth and you will hear the swishing of the gas. If you don't hear it, its time to fill up. Another thing is there is a gas light that comes on when you are low, there is about 20 miles in the reserve tank when the light comes on. Hope this helps!

      You are going to tip toe everywhere you go if your inseam is even long enough. The R6 is the tallest 600cc supersport where as Suzuki and I believe Honda are lower and more comfortable.
