Last time I was in the Public Garden a red tailed hawk swooped down and grabbed a squirrel and sat in the tree right by the bridge eating his breakfast. Of course I got a video.
As a native of the MA North Shore, glad you enjoyed the area! Love seeing your experiences here! As someone who has to deal with the traffic here by car, it’s always nice seeing the experience from a tourist point of view, I often forget just how beautiful the city is when you aren’t sitting in traffic for hours at a time
Boston was founded in 1630….very old for the US. Harvard began in 1636. It was the first College in English North America. It still ranks as an elite University. In nearby Lexington & Concord the American Revolution began in April 19, 1775.
Glad you had a wonderful time in Boston. It's a big college town and why there are so many young "smart" people throughout the city and suburbs. It's a terrific city with incredible historical landmarks- I just wish the winters were not so unforgiving.
Bonjour Marie, it was so nice that Boston welcomed you back with such nice weather. The footage of Boston Public Garden was so good. What a great place to have in the middle of a city. I'm really glad you made it to Fenway Park, it's one of the most historic stadiums in baseball, and the Red Sox and Yankees are two of the most famous and historic teams. ESPN broadcasts their games on a regular basis. Sorry to hear you had a negative experience. I hope it wasn't too bad. ❤🌹
Hi miss frenchie, my family and I love all your explote,s in our beautiful America, loving your platform, honest and so wholesome, be safe out there and looking forward to your adventures ..
The Yankees vs Red Sox is one of the oldest rivalries in North American professional sports. It's pretty cool that you got to take that in and also watch your team win! Looking forward to the next video. Cheers! 🍻⚾️🍀🌎✈️🇺🇸
Kansas Grandpa Checking in. I lived 26 years in New England. Spent a lot of time in Boston. I got so I would not drive there. I would go in by bus and let the Russian Cab Drivers take me around. Still, I've never seen a baseball game at Fenway Park. It's fun to watch you live this stuff. Enjoy.
You made a beautiful video Marie! I'm so glad you went back to Boston in mid-june. Boston looks so beautiful in the summertime. You really know how to show off Boston's best features through your expertly produced video. Hiking through Boston, with you as the tour guide, was just as pleasant as walking through a natural setting hike with you through the wilderness. And then to top it off, you were able to catch a ball game at Fenway Park! With the Yankees! That is awesome! Thank you for sharing this pleasant experience with us.❤😊🌞👍🦆🐧🐠🐿️ 🍇 🐬🥐🍩🛥️🌆🏟️👌
I have lived here all my life and actually worked for the city's Parks Dept. I love seeing the city thru other peoples eyes because when you live here it's no big deal, you take it for granted. I am surprised you didn't do the freedom trail. Boston has a huge place in the history of the USA. I live in Charlestown in the shadow of the Bunkerhill Monument and right down the street of the USS Constitution. Charlestown is where Paul Revere started his ride to tell the people the British were coming. Whenever you can come back this way check out the history you can toss tea in the harbor and see where Boston sits in the history of the US.
I've lived in the Boston area since 1987 and I have to say your video series about captured the spirit of it, from great friendly people to the Massholes as we affectionately call them
Marie, I'm glad you had a good time in this video! Seeing the place when it's warm brings an entirely different perspective. Take care and keep smiling! 😃
Even though I grew up in Boston I haven't lived there in many decades. So although I know Boston like the back of my hand, I still kind of experience like a tourist. I guess I miss it!
Well, it looks like you really enjoyed your summer visit to my hometown and escaped without too much trauma...Bostonians are often not among the most glad-to-meet-you type folks around but they usually leave you be. Our squirrels can be very friendly though...if you have a grape you're a friend for life. Stick with them and you'll be fine! Fenway - legendary park. Happy you got to see it!
Bonjour Marie! I'm also glad you went back to Boston in June. I always recommend to visit Northern US States in the Summer, and Southern US States in the Winter. Boston is one of those places I'd like to go but like your trip only for a few days, I doubt I'd want to be there for a week, lol! Anyway, I hope that you are doing well. Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed
I wore a Yankees cap and jersey to Fenway and the Yankees won in extra innings. Thank goodness for that as I would have suffered much grief on the walk back to the hotel.
Love seeing your Boston travels, I live about an hour away. I was lucky that my first ever Red Sox game at Fenway was free when a woman who works in marketing offered me and a friend free tickets if I shared a promotion they had going on. You've done some stuff I've never even done in Boston all my life!
I live on the south shore in Boston. I used to commute to South Station every day, then walk from South Station through Boston Common and the Public Garden each day, thanks for bringing me back there. Red Sox - Yankee games are such a rivalry, Boston usually loses to the Yankees unfortunately. Next time try to get to the North & South shores and along the beaches, or head west and see the western part of Massachusetts, you'll be impressed. Thanks for sharing.
It's a good thing you forgot your Yankees cap. The Red Sox are arch-rivals of the Yankees. You could get grief from the fans for wearing anything with a Yankees logo on it. That big wall that the giant flag was hanging on is called the Green Monster. It's 37 feet tall, and is a unique feature of Fenway Park.
Wrong! She would have been just fine. This rivalry has both team’s fans showing up at opposing team stadiums with their own fan apparel. Don’t need to hear your Boston bullying.
Fenway Park is the oldest baseball stadium open in 1912. There is a movie about Fenway & the Boston Red Sox called Fever Pitch starring Drew Barrymore & Jimmy Fallon.
They used have an observation deck at the top of the John Hancock building, now called 200 Clarendon, but they got rid of it after 9/11, and since that's the tallest building in the city, you can assume it has the best views as long as you're not looking west I guess.
Just left Boston so bummed I didn’t go to a baseball game but overall this city is INCREDIBLE. Public transportation was so easy to navigate and we loved the locals so many people helped us along the way recommending us places and just chatting with us
I am originally from Boston. Left to join the military in 1971. Now live in Aberdeen, MD. Boston sure seems to have improved a great deal. since I lived there.
It absolutely has - the Combat Zone is a thing of the past! if you were local in the 60's and '70's - then you know. It is really nice now for both the folks who live there AND visitors. Marie - I am glad you had a good time!
My mom used to tell me how much of a dump it was back in the 50's. It was markedly improved by the 90's, but the Big Dig for all the criticism did bring a ton of new development, and expanded downtown into the Seaport. Its more like a real city now than the overgrown small town it used to be.
I was at that game as well and by the looks of it, my seat must have been a section away. I was looking but couldn't mind myself, I might have to watch it a few more times to make sure.

It was probably for the best that you couldn't find your Yankees cap. Their rivalry with the Red Sox is one that has gone on for many decades. In fact, since the two franchises have existed, they've played each other more than 2,300 times.
As I have said to you before Marie , and as always, I love how you SHOW and don't tell. You just SHOW the places and things you are doing without a lot of bla bla bla bla talk. Keep it up and I will watch everyone of your videos.
Oh I know that park. Never been but my mom has and used to have a bunch of photos from it. I think there's a line of brass ducks somewhere on the property?
The top of the Prudential Tower used to be the broadcast studios of WBCN, the coolest rock and roll station in the USA! I worked in the downtown Financial District of Boston for ten years, just a couple of blocks from the Old State House. Every day was an adventure! Some of the world's best seafood is in Boston! Dear God girl! If you wear a Yankees hat at Fenway Park (or anywhere in Boston for that matter) you take your life in your hands! When I was in my twenties we went to lots of games at Fenway. In those days you could buy a Standing Room Only Ticket, but by the fifth or sixth inning there were so many empty seats you could sit right down in front! Not anymore. Sad! 😥
Just one correction: The Boston Public Garden is always called the "Public Garden", never called Boston Garden. That's because "Boston Garden" was the name of the sports arena where they played basketball and ice hockey. It no longer exists, but Bostonians still remember it.
I'm sorry to see you didn't find Nemo. You didn't get the prize seats, up on top of the Green Monster. I couldn't hear you singing "Sweet Caroline" during the 7th inning stretch, or you were you upset they didn't sing Brooks and Dunn's song "My Maria" ,lol
It’s a good thing that you forgot your Yankees hat. You really don’t want to be going into Boston stadium rooting for the opposite team, especially the Yankees.
Marie, Starting on December 7, 2024 Air France will fly nonstop three days a week to and from Manila after a 20 year absence. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from Paris to Manila. And the return flight back to Paris from Manila on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Just in time for the reopening of Notre Dame and just in time before Christmas and New Years. One last thing Marie, the Philippines 🇵🇭 is the 1st country to celebrate Christmas every year starting on September 1st up until after the 1st week of The New Year! Marie, Bonjour et Bienvenue a Philippines 🇵🇭!
Oh, OH! You really didn't visit the soul of Boston because you did not have fresh lobster!!! You must go back again! You did good going to a game at Fenway Field but I got the feeling you're not a baseball fan? Keep coming back and enjoying the 🇺🇸...
Fenway Park is a baseball cathedral. The Yankees, less so the last few years since the Red Sox front office got a case of the cheaps, were definitely viewed as the Red Sox biggest rivals and it isn't even close. No other team compares. So, it is good you did not wear a Yankees cap to a Sox game :-). Unfortunately, the Red Sox are plum mediocre these days due to the front office not being willing to pay to retain or acquire talent. Still, the stadium is incredible, and the Boston fans are among the most knowledgeable in baseball.
Not finding the Yankees cap and being unable to wear it to Fenway Park may well be the largest averted crisis of your entire life.
Everyone always goes to the Boston Common in their videos, but the Public Garden is SO MUCH BETTER! So glad you got to see it now full bloom!
