I'm a beginner in model railroading and I'd like to thank you and other youtubers for sharing great technics like this one. My appreciation from Brazil.
Ron, Having just completed a highway bridge for another gentlemans layout and getting ready to model a bridge for my own layout, I've followed this series with great interest and it's been very helpful. Thank you for this series. Cheers, Chris Perry.
Looks great Ron, it looks like the real think, its always nice to see how others do things, but I'm going to try Ken Paterson patch cemet out on my module next time....thanks for sharing....Jack 🙂
Great job, but food for thought, guard rails always are angled at the beginning as avoid a blunt object. That's of course according to the MUTCD Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device Chapter 3
As a modern era modeler in N scale, they can be a challenge. I mostly watch for them constatly on Ebay. I also get some from Shapeways when I need something specific that I can't find elsewhere.
NIce video...looks great! one question you just did one layer of static grass and one size. would you use modge pod if you were going to add taller grass? On roads I do I use weather strip or styrene with tacky glue then mix a batch of spackling powder work it in between the styrene leavel with a putty knife when dry take up the styrene or weather strips.
Thanks. I am personally well soouth of the flooding, but some from our disaster relief team have been sand bagging ahead of the flood in St. Joseph, MO.
I always watch for them. The autos are low-detail that can be purchased in bulk cheap on ebay. The other are a mixture of vehicles I have picked up over the years when I see them.
@@RonsTrainsNThings I do see lots of bulk ones, they don't look that great but I guess I'll start looking harder for better quality ones. Thanks again Ron
Most of these cars are casting so the wheels don't turn. Any cars with rolling wheels I put on the level bridge. Otherwise I would have to super glue one wheel to the axle keep it from rolling.
See how I kit-bashed the bridge in this highway scene here: ruclips.net/video/5_JHvvGZAoY/видео.html

You are welcome. I do this because I wish I had a resource like this when I first started.
Thanks Ron, that was a great series.
Good work getting it done.
Thanks for the message from the time out chair. Lol.
@@RonsTrainsNThings Hmmm, not sure how I can respond to that without getting sent to the time out wall.
That looks awesome
It looks awesome
Thanks.
Came out great!! Nice work!
Thanks.
good job Ron I might build a bridge soon
Your overpass looks fantastic. Your roads always look so realistic. Thanks for all the tips.
Thanks.
Great job Ron and the overpass looks fantastic.

Thanks so much, Mike.

Ron, that looks awesome! You motivate ME hermano!
Hey, Steve. Saw your new video. Good stuff. EPS is plentiful in MO, and no traffic. Just sayin'. Lol.
Very nice job!
How that came out really good. Good job Ron.
Thanks.
Good job I liked
Thanks Ron. Great job, wish I had seen this before finishing up my first paved road for my diorama. Take care...Anthony
How did you make your road?
Great video as usual. I will be going back to see the beginning of this build.
Really nice work Ron. I like everything about your bridge and highway.
Nicely done Ron, looks great!
Thanks.
Thanks for a great video, I have learned at lot, as usual. Nice to see the layout coming together. Thanks for sharing. See ya down the tracks.
Nice project
Thanks, Jerry.
That is so freaking cool!
Thanks, Christopher. This was a lot of fun to build.
Thank you very much Ron for sharing this awesome video it turn out very nice
Thanks.
Great episode Ron. That came out great looking. I’ll be referring back to this when it comes time to make roads for my railroad. Papadan
Thanks.

I think that stuff looks interesting, but I think it is too coarse and would have to be applied to thick for N scale applications.
@@RonsTrainsNThings I haven't seen that yet, I'll let you know soon....
THANK YOU FOR DETAIL VIDEO ON YOUR DETAIL LAYOUT
Good video Ron! I love that bridge so far I just ordered a woodland scenic static grass applicator kinda excited to play with it.
That will be fun. Let us know what you think of it.
Looks fantastic! I like how you made the abutment with styrene
Looks like a Texas Interstate. Well done! 😃👍
Thanks.
very nice job indeed
Thanks.
Looks awesome....

Sweet!

[thank, you for youre video]👍
New to your channel. Nice work!
Thank you and welcome.
love it Ron, could you come build one for me. lol
love your video Ron as allways if you can find time you can work on mine lol looking good
Looks REALLY good Ron.
Shoot me an email when you have some time about the idea we had during the n-scale op weekend in KC last month. ~Nathan C.
Hey, Nathan. I'm out of town through the weekend, but I'll catch you next week.
Ron I just find out frog tape makes a yellow tape for delicate surface maybe would work better for you. I NEVER tried it
Looks like you've been watching Luke's videos!
I do watch Luke's stuff, but some steps are just common.
always looking for N scale vehicles circa 1980 and newer, do you have a source? Nice job, very detailed.
As a modern era modeler in N scale, they can be a challenge. I mostly watch for them constatly on Ebay. I also get some from Shapeways when I need something specific that I can't find elsewhere.
Did you ever try to build a long leaf southern pine tree that all over the southern states
I have not because I've never modeled an area where those grow.
Generally speaking, the grassy area directly under the overpass, as it gets less light, would be a lot more patchy, and might even be just dirt.
Yes, I got carried away there. I think I will sift some dirt back into that area when I add some trash detail there.

I would use the Mod Podge with any one layer application of static grass. If adding a second layer I would use some type of spray adhesive.
@@RonsTrainsNThings Thanks Ron, I just got a static applicator and have never used one.
They are fun. Just a little practice and you'll have it down in no time.
Hope you all doing fine after all that flooding
Thanks. I am personally well soouth of the flooding, but some from our disaster relief team have been sand bagging ahead of the flood in St. Joseph, MO.
Thanks for sharing Ron, I always look forward to your videos. Where do you find the good looking n-scale vehicles?
I always watch for them. The autos are low-detail that can be purchased in bulk cheap on ebay. The other are a mixture of vehicles I have picked up over the years when I see them.
@@RonsTrainsNThings I do see lots of bulk ones, they don't look that great but I guess I'll start looking harder for better quality ones. Thanks again Ron
What would you recommend to get for N scale track
Personally I am a fan of Peco flex track and switches.
Hey Ron! Are you modeling any specific section of Texas Interstate or just the Bridges(overpass)?
This is NW Loop 820 north of Ft Worth through Saginaw, TX.
How did you made the cars stay in place? my H0 once roll away even on the smalest incline
Most of these cars are casting so the wheels don't turn. Any cars with rolling wheels I put on the level bridge. Otherwise I would have to super glue one wheel to the axle keep it from rolling.
What is the material you used for your roads? Enjoy the videos.
These were made from polystyrene. The bridges were kitbashed from Rix kits, the approach made from .020" plain sheet styrene.
