This year feels like the early 90’s. Nord, Roland, Korg, Kurzweil, Ketron, Legend One, Yamaha, etc. they all are coming with new keyboards or OS firmware upgrades.
I would have liked them to wait a couple of years to make the jump larger from Piano 5 to Piano 6. Maybe test the keybed at NAMM, although I suspect it is the same as they haven't highlighted that part
The new Nord Piano 6 has a multi-timbral engine consisting of a piano and sample/synth section. Its advanced layering capabilities allow you to layer up to two independent piano and sample/synth sounds. So, maybe the downloaded sounds of the synth has timbre as standard. I also noticed under timbre "Piano Info" & on the synth under dynamics "Synth Info".
Love the video! In my opinion, the upgraded features are nice to have but since this is primarily a piano-focused keyboard, any new synth effects are not going matter very much compared to something like the stage. The feel of the action being upgraded would be the only saving grace of the piano 6, if that's even true that they changed it. I do notice in the images that the black keys seem much closer together compared to piano 5, so we'll have to see. What are your opinions on the piano 5 action by the way?
Loved the video! I was waiting for your thoughts after the announcement. I’ve been planning to buy my first Nord and decided on the Piano, so I was excited about the Piano 6 release, but was a bit disappointed compared to the 5. I’m looking forward to your in-depth review of the Piano 5 vs. 6 and your recommendations for a first purchase.😁
I bought a piano 5 a week ago a was so mad when I saw the announcement but since researching I think if you can get a nice price for the piano 5 (as I did) then I’d go for that. It’s an amazing keyboard and I feel no reason to upgrade :)
Do you know if Nord Stage 4 has Piano 6 vibrato or it is new to Piano 6. I like that feature, but Piano 6 might not be enough for me I like fancier synth engine as in Stage 4. I’m new to Nord. Stage 4 was ‘23. Sounds like Stage 4 is not due to update, it’s pretty new. You seem to know anything of Nord. Is it save to get Stage 4 ATM?
They also removed the ACOUSTICS button in the Piano Section which is quite sad. Hopefully the String Resonance function is still there. Maybe it's constantly switched on now?
It's capped at 2GB, the proprietary flash memory they use is stuck at 2GB. Most unfortunately this has been a well known fact since the inception of Nord creating the platform of almost instant loading samples.
I’m curious to see if there are any significant upgrades to the key bed. It says it’s has a “premium “ triple sensor keybed. Is that just a marketing buzz word or have they improved it since the 5 ?
Thomann now has the Piano 6 88 listed for preorder, and it is only 300 euro less than than the Nord Grand 2. With the NP5 at least there was a healthy price difference between the Piano and Grand model range. These new updated make the NP6 almost identical to the NG2 in functionality, only real difference I see are the action and the cabinet/case design. Always glad to have more choices, but odd to me that they would position them so close in features and price.
@@davidkyle2073 Oh indeed, I agree, but my comment is more that it is odd that they are now priced so close. If you are going to swing for the new Piano 6 for only a couple hundred more you can get the Grand 2. Great time to be a keyboard player though, lots of choices!
Actually, compared to Yamaha, Roland, KAwai, … the Nord (Fatar) keybed is the WEAKEST aspect of this super expensive line. My Piano 5 (still under warranty) has been into service for over a month now.
Hey! I’ve watched your videos before, and I think you do an awesome job creating engaging content. I just released my Irish special DNB album-how do you like it? 🤪🤪😝

We need Electro 7D with pitch bend and mod wheel! Nord, come on!
Please!!!! I second this! Pitch Bend and Mod Wheel! Please, NORD. And with VST to Nord keyboard owners.

You can layer 4 sounds on 5 too

I would really look at the prices and maybe buy Piano 5 for a good price

need a electro 7D with upgraded synth and organ and more memory

Oh wow, I missed that! Yes, hopefully it's still a setting in the menu or always on.
Why would they not increase the memory to hold more piano samples? I know. No logical answer.

Maybe TP40 like in GT

Wow 3800€. Not so sad anymore that I just bough Piano 5 for over 1k less
The different keybed is a huge difference

@ really! Yikes
How does one get into the NAMM show?
There really isn't difference between the Nord piano 5 and 6 other than the triple sensor keybed and led faders and layer per section.
How do you know there is a difference in keybed other than in name?
Both have triple sensors
