- Earlier today TheFlow's HackerOne report relating to the 11.00 PS4 Jailbreak & PS5 8.20 Jailbreak was partially disclosed by PlayStation.
This could lead to a 11.00 Jailbreak for the PS4 within the next few weeks.

@@QwirkzyYT No,11.00 is not same as 11.4 or 11.5 as Sony patches the exploits with each update which prevents the new version from jailbreaking. For example, current jailbreak works upto 9.00 but doesn't work for my 9.60

My ps4 is 9.53, last year december my brother wanted to update it, we had an argument which lead to a fight and i punched him 🤣.

You can try to downgrade. You're are off by one firmware it would probably revert to jailbreakable firmware. It requires some soldering skills tho so maybe seek professional help.
it's probably still easy to find a ps4 with vulnerable firmware these days.

It's been just over 2 years since I last updated my PS4 from 9.00 to 9.03 just days before the release of the 9.00 jailbreak! I have lived with the regret of that decision ever since but hopefully this guilty feeling will finally be put to rest! I have waited this long so what's a couple of more months to finally free my PS4!

My ps4 (10.01) is literally jumping of happiness. Awesome news. Been waiting for about a year now. I literally today turned on my console to double check my version and almost immediately wanted to start downloading 11.50! I was like hells nah!

Yeah I have a 5.05 PS4 Pro, but bought a brand new PS5 CFI-12xx that's on 7.00 few months ago together with a BluRay burner as well in hopes of a wider PS5 JB later this year. The PS5 is still in the box because my PS4 Pro 5.05 does everything including new backported games.
You guys may miss out on remote play if you keep your ps5s in box..

@VenemonTV unlike a hen type hack you have to redo everytime. A perma hack is permanent where you turn the system on it all ready to do things. It does t have to be loaded back on. That's the just of it I believe

I mean, he only said "PS5 is vulnerable to CVE-2016", which we already knew. It is vulnerable to the crash, but is it vulnerable to a kernel RCE? That's the real question

Notice how they confirm it can cause denial-of-service (a crash), but when they mention RCE, they say "potentially". Not confirming it works for both PS4/5

@@rohan1765 He mentioned it was underpaid and should have been $50K. A pretty specific number for one critical vulnerability, not two.

I am so excited. I just bought a sealed PS5 (Horizion Forbiden West Bundle) that has firmware 5.XX (can't remember exactly, it was 5. somthing), and I have my old PS4 Pro that's been sitting on 10.00 for a while now. Can't wait for both of these to come out. And I'm willing to wait for PS5, just knowing that there's a path forward for progress is great to see. My investment will pay off soon.

We all aren't like you , we are all different and besides a jailbroken PS5 can do a lot more stuff than a normal PS5 same goes for PS4. cracked games are an added bonus .

For who is in 9.00 there will be a way to get from 9.00 to a lower firmware without open the ps4 and solder something on it?
Soon you’ll be able to update to 11.00 and use the jailbreak. Give it a month. Same for you running 9.03
My ps5 is still unused to this day, but to be honest i don't know if i could wait further than GTA 6, holding myself would be torture in this case, i hope they figure out some backport system

Doubt that'll be possible tbh. I'm sure they have protections against that nowadays to ensure the OS passes a check. I could be wrong though cause I don't know anything about exploitation on consoles. Just seems unlikely

I noticed that formatting a USB drive as external memory rendered it invisible/unreadable to my PC. Without jailbreaking, are we completely unable to browse/copy game file contents in any way?
Windows doesn't support the filesystem so it can't even read it, thus not appearing as external drives.
There are other ways to move games to the external drive without having to use the full drive but they aren't as reliable. Might lose data
@@shib5267 That’s what I figured-Windows doesn’t seem to support anything outside of the conventional file systems anyway. I’ve been hoping someone out there had developed something like the old PS3 PKG decryption tools to at least view or access a game’s file structure. I want to be optimistic about the hard part being viewing the encrypted files and attempting to determine the AES keys-both FF7 Rebirth and Stellar Blade, for example, only run on UE4.

@@Win_7 PS4 is very expensive where I live and I was so so lucky that I got mine at a reasonable price, I can't afford to get another one as just a month ago I spent the rest of my money to buy a PS Vita
it would've been great if it was possible to somehow bypass the chip that controls the updates and being able to simply downgrade like previous PlayStation consoles

also if you buy another ps4 u can sell ur old one to get most if not all ur money back (include ur discs too for more profit cause you dont need them anymore)

best odds for you is to find a old completely unused console on the used market or factory new that hasnt been unsealed in half a year or so

You must r/rw the syscon chip using something like a teensy ++2.0 and create a dump (you can create a hardware mod to flip back and forth from official aswell 😮

I bet someone would've done that by now if that were the case. The PS4/5 must have a different RCE then the PS3 which is why it works on there.
The ps3 has a stable and easy jailbreak already for all firmwares. Custom firmware too.

Kernel for ps3 is lv2 and ps3hen already uses another kex which works fine. No known way to compromise lv1 (hypervisor) which would grant complete control after fw 3.56

I got the ps4 and I forgot to watch videos on the jailbreak so I updated my ps4 until 11.50 ofw. But I think that this information will be useful to me because the hackers will do everything for versions 11.00 but let's not forget that during the jailbreak of version 9.00 there were, if I remember correctly, direct jailbreaks of versions 9. XX later. So I'm still hoping that the 11.50 jailbreak will come at the same time because they've already done it and there's no evidence that they can't do it again. so Modded Warfare and you gamers tell me if in your opinion there is a possibility why the jailbreak of 11.50 comes at the same time as that of 9.00?
i don't get it, was it an os vulnerability (freebsd) or sony's fault for misconfiguration/bad implementation of the os on playstation devices?
It's due to them using deprecated software.
also, unrelated but the payout seems low, no? this has to be multiple months of work and research, for 10k? that's barely the montly payroll for an entry position infosec job

@@20eyesmisfit idk, for a fulltime effort it's definitely not, considering the bug severity. i'm not surprised people would rather keep their exploits private. like savewizard for example, they have made their bread and butter for years on a private exploit, they have no incentive to disclose. we will probably never know even after EOL.

Got a ps4 pro in September so I was looking to jailbreak my 11.0.0 ps4, everyone said to just sell it and buy a 9.0.0 because there would never be a new exploit. I knew that couldn’t be true.
The ps4 wasn't even out in 2006 let alone a thought and neither was the ps3. So apparently freebsd patched something before both the ps3 and ps4 were even out let alone a thought in Sony's mind. Which I don't think the ps2 ever used freebsd.

my little brother accidentally updated my ps4 to 11.02 and then to 11.50 i thought it was disabled in the settings but about a week ago i came from work i tried to use the browser and then a notification popped up that it was updated to 11.50 he told me that he will just play gta and rdr2 i said its okay he doesnt know how to turn it on (the automatic update ) he's 12 btw but somehow it turned on it was on 11.00 i was furious cuz i was waiting for the jb now i'll just have to sell this one before the jailbreak and buy another jailbreakable ps4
