5 mins in and we have a pitch perfect German impression and Harry Kane eating a bowl of goals. Long live king and king.
He got the high pitch constant shouting of kimmich spot on
Eating a bowl of goals is hilarious 😭
I'd love James to do a whole podcast in that accent.
Jim SURELY can’t think that hoodie looks BETTER than the tshirt over a hoodie??
He has to be aware. It has to be a joke on us. Somehow
I should've watched first. I went way too early
He had us in the first half ngl
“It really suits my agenda” ~ football twitter in a sentence. It’s beautiful.
No way is Jim wearing a qpr kit over a hoodie
One week ban
Maybe the title confused that guy. Maybe he thinks James is the permanent fixture and Flav is the recurring guest *for now*until someone better comes along
James... And flav for now
Tbf that does make it sound like Flav is going to be a hand puppet.
James. And Flav… for now?
James? Sure. Flav? For now.
Flav is the reoccurring guest FOR NOW, hence then name James, and Flav for now.
jim is the most 13 year old looking 37 year old of all time, saville’s dream
horrendous statement but so accurate
a Celtic fan would know.
Brutal, yet
@@72Reissstaunch royalist saville aye, still got lizzie in your dressing room?
@72Reiss Sevco FC is built on loving the nonces in the Royal family
Flav looks like he's joined the New Wellness centre and is full of positive orgones
He does believe in crystal skulls
Dude, crank up the orgonometer and bring on module 2! @@lewismundy8230
James is changing his name to Jared
@@louisfox8539 oooo, that's not good
Amazing what arsenal getting booted out of the champions league can do for a man
Genuinely thought they’d got Joshua Kimmich to make a brief appearance there. Sat in work with the podcast on I had to pick my phone up just to be sure. Phenomenal stuff
Surely after last week calling wearing a kit over a hoodie unattractive and looking like a slob, Jim wouldn't be wearing a QPR kit over a hoodie.
It’s a QPR Hoodie, not the same thing. At least i hope it is…
I love Flav more with every passing day.
Defo been taking wind up lessons from Buvey
@@craigbuckland6584 Flav taught Buvey you mean
Horns at 0:15
Thanks mate couldn’t wait.
Lunatic
"If I beat up a kid would I call myself a boxing championship" might be Flav's best quote.
Flav having multiple strokes in a single sentence multiple times throughout the pod was the ultimate tease for the man who wants him out as a guest
Although i too find it laughable anyone would belive Flav was just a recurring guest after 5 years have you considered the podcasts name might not help arid slugs here?
"James and Flav FOR NOW" could be read to imply a trial period for Flav that might change? All im saying is consider renaming the pod "James and Flav on an ongoing basis" in a signal the loan move has been made permanent
Think this might be an all-timer JAFFN.
One legacy that spring to mind is the Kieron Dyer/Lee Bowyer on-pitch brawl. I have literally no idea what these players were like as footballers but just know them as wronguns.
2:46 THAT KIMMICH IMPERSONATION 😂😂
That was brilliant! Lol
Potential new bit: Football Rhyming Slang…
This the attempt to become the Ulysses S. Grant of JAFFN, and pleasure both the football and non-football adoring slugs. A former employer of mine once asked me to grab the “Romelu’s?” I was taken aback without knowledge of what he was referring to. Stepping out of the vehicle we were in, I was informed that he was referring to the Lu-car-keys. To this day whenever I pick up my keys, the first thought I have is of Belgium’s broadest bald baller.
Do you know who Ulysses S Grant was? 😂
Did he not stop the Yanks scrapping?
Need to see flav react to the sheer amount of crying kids in Lille after Emi Martinez shithoused France again 😂. They kept cutting to them all game looking happy and kissing the badge, then cut to them all crying after game 😂
Jimmy boy coming hot with a verbatim acted out back and with Bayern players... that level accuracy was just uncanny
Steven Taylor pretending to be shot when he hand balled it.
And Lee Bowyer scrapping with Dyer.
Happend in the same game 🤦♂️😭😂
As the great Rio Ferdinand once said…”Can’t we just enjoy them both!?” - Love the football chat and the silliness lads! 58:26
As an Everton fan, bits you don't want your mates to say to you about your club: "You know what, going down might do you lot good mate, you can rebuild" - With the debt and the squad we have we'd drop like a stone
I love the football chat, its seasoned with hilarious bants throughout. Happy with the balance; some moisties are drying up - get out of the salt you slugs! Things evolve. JAFFN makes my week - keep it up lads
My favourite bit is James suggesting new bits every week and then being ignored in the comments, which instead just devolve into fans arguing about who bottled it more
You know it’s a good pod when Jim says the all important line “that’s the monetisation gone”
It's probably the most important statement of any jaffn
Great pod lads. I wonder who James' special guest will be next week...
Personally I’m very glad the issue of football chat has been raised. I agree that bits should not be forced and must come naturally, but I think you may be selling yourselves short fellas. We must not forget that these two gentlemen were able to collate 8 weeks worth of high quality chat about buffets and about 5 weeks about sandwiches, so I believe that the two of you have the potential to take any mundane topic and create moments of podcasting glory. Perhaps its worth bringing back the signal, so viewers can sift through and get the gravy, and if they listen to it via podcast platforms, fuck em (make sure to set it automatic downloads and rate 5*). Alternatively, just make more vague links between football and porn, that’s always fun.
5:46 Sorry Flav, we went out in the groups in 16/17 and against Juventus in the Round of 16 in 17/18, year after we reached the final.
Don't let the truth get in the way of a point
As a newer listener I appreciate the backstory to the podcast. It makes the Flav slander even funnier 😂
I'm a Chelsea fan.
I've recently been reading the book Unruly by David Mitchell as I have an interest in history as well as football.
The book is about the kings and queens of England/ Britain. And upon reading the section about William the conqueror and the king that he over threw; Harold Goodwinson I was shocked to find out that, a month before the battle of Hastings, Harold faught a battle against a group of vikings who had camped out in York called The Battle of Stamford Bridge.
That battle happened on 25 September 1066.
That's exactly 928 years to the day before I was born.
Some things are just destiny. 💙
928 years until your next league title
The irony of flav saying “if you believe in what ange is doing then 5th of 4th is irrelevant” but saying everything about Arteta 😂
Haha I said right at the beginning that Arteta is exactly the manager Arsenal need
i understand the bemusement from other fans at the thought that 'it's over', but having lived this title race with city multiple times before you can't help but feel that way. Even if we were in city's position, 2 points ahead I'd still be worried, so to be 2 points behind just feels impossible. No way they drop more points than we do
Zaha will be remembered for *allegedly* giving Moyes’ daughter a piping
For player legacies, in Scotland National team lore Chris Iwelumo is forever known for his horrendous miss in a 0-0 draw against Norway at Hampden, his international career was over the moment that ball left his foot and I never heard from him again.
ive sat out most podcasts because of arsenals week, but can’t miss Jaffn; when spurs potentially end title challenge may be a little harder
Seeing so many Arsenal fans being ungrateful for the progress that we've made, I hope Flav tear us down. I'm ashamed sometimes to be part of this fanbase
For players whose legacies are frivolously disappoint things Iago Aspas has to get a mention. Aspas has scored nearly 200 goals in just over 450 games for Celta Vigo, some would say he’s a Celta Vigo legend however all that doesn’t matter as his entire legacy is defined by one howler of a corner against Chelsea when Liverpool were in search of a goal after Gerrard’s slip. He’s even gone on to say that it still haunts him, Big up Jaffn!
I swear it was literally last week that Jim was IN DEPTH telling us why football shirts over hoodies look terrible
Conversation to be had over Zidanes headbutt legacy. For a large part of my childhood I had no idea he was so good. I just thought he was the headbutt guy
As an American. We wear the Jersey over the jacket so 1) you show support for your team and 2) you stay very warm. In America we don’t have home and away sides officially. Outside of college football where it’s kinda known ore then spoken about
Fernando Torres missing that open goal at Old Trafford - that’s his legacy
Gary O Neil will get the liverpool job, you heard it here first. You can show a screenshot of this on your ‘How Liverpool Will Play Under Gary O Neil’ video. Cheers👍
Phil Babb. I remember very little of his football career but very vividly remember the time he split himself on the goal post. Even thinking about it causes a wince.
James and flav for good should be the pod. Love both of them
Started coaching in America. Kids call bibs ‘pinnies’ over here. Mental. Just checking in from California. The team I support in the UK, Newport County AFC are currently in the worst form of all 92 clubs with 7 straight losses, the worst form since we reformed in 1989. Bring on the end of the season and a big summer window 🤞 keep up the brilliant pod guys
Interesting one recently, found out I’m the only one of my mates that doesn’t undo the whole trousers before pissing at a urinal… I’ve always undone my flies. Reached in. Found my member from within my boxers via the front access and proceeded to piss. 🤷🏻♂️ apparently most people undo the button and the flies of the trousers and just pull down the boxers. Does seem a lot more convenient on reflection and more comfortable having tried it since I found this out.
You know what? Within 10 minutes, I noticed I had started reflexively clenching my jaw... but love you guys and the pod 😂
Cole Palmer is a throw back of number 10. All technique, hopefully it brings the role back and shows a movement back towards allowing individual talent, the flip side is his sides shit.
The Kimmich/Kane skit 🤣🤣 engaging stuff!
Clicked expecting some regular banter about Arsenal crashing out
Got an detailed narration of Wayne rooney waking up after a night of love with a granny
This is cinema. 🔥🔥
Here’s a theory: Cole Palmer’s reputation has been ENHANCED because his surname begins with a P, therefore cannot experience the same ‘Penandes’ slander. Smart.
Lived in the US for the past 10 years so well versed in both Stone Island get the badge in culture as well as the jersey over the hoody culture. To answer Flav's question about what is considered "hard" in American sports fan culture, it's pretty much how obnoxiously loud you want to be as there is no away fans section at most venues, so you are in broad daylight behind enemy lines. In England I am sure we have all been there when we have had to go incognito as the only ticket we could get was in the home end for an away game, we wear neutral colors and we give it the the subtle clench fist and mutter "yes" under our breath when our team scores as to not blow our cover. In the US, when an away fan is double hard they do the opposite. They make sure everyone around them knows who they are cheering for and inevitably this leads to quite a lot of fights, specifically at NFL games. They let you drink in your seats at US stadiums too so that definitely has a big part to play in it.
Proud to say I've watched since the Matt Wilson days and remember Jim steeling his place on the pod. God I'm old and do want some kind of medal
Good one for the tainted legacy bit is Gareth Evans. Solid efl career for Bradford, Rotherham and captained pompey to the L2 title. But in his first stint at Bradford, stepped up to take a last min pen to win the game. He absolutely slapped it and it went past the post and knocked a disabled woman out of her wheelchair. Not only did he cost them a win, but he almost murdered a disabled person.
As a Southampton fan, Vergini scoring that crazy volleyed own goal against us for Sunderland is all he will be known for. I was there, that was the first of 8 goals… setting the tone
When going to NFL games it is normal to have the jersey over your top. This is partially because the jerseys are so big since they are meant to be worn with pads underneath
Is there anything more joyous in life than writing a witty comment under a JAFFN pod. Only for it to be read out the following week, maybe releasing a little giggle from our two kings.
A man can only dream.
I think the most damning thing you can say about Cole Palmer's personality is that he suits Chelsea
"you've gota let bits grow naturally". class.
Heartbreaking legacy: Asamoah Gyan missing the ghana penalty 2010 after suarez handball
James if you are going to talk about all of the controversial handball decisions next week then I have the solution!
VAR ISN'T THE PROBLEM! Penalties are the problem. Penalties should not be awarded for accidental handballs. Point blank blocked crosses/shots do not warrant the other team getting an almost guaranteed goal. The calls are too difficult to make consistently with the current handball rule and by removing the penalty you remove all of the controversy that comes with a game-changing decision. They should be replaced with indirect freekicks.
I think penalties in general should only be given for clear goalscoring offences. Last man tackles etc... They alter results unfairly in too many scenarios IMO.
Villa fans are happy :D
that still makes david dunne look like rory being his camp self
As a football fan I enjoyed this Podcast...
As a slug I really enjoyed this Podcast...
As a Spurs fan I FUCKING LOVED this Podcast
Great Guest to have on James
This podcast is so much better when you chat about football!
🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂
New bit idea: Things your dad told you that you blindly believed because it was your dad, at the football or just generally. Mine is that when I went to my first Forest games as a kid, my told me that we were singing HOOF GOES THE COW after the opposition took a goal kick. I was 15 when I finally realised it was YOU'RE SHIT AHHHHHH. Much to the amusement of my mates.
In American sports it’s pretty normal for us to wear jerseys to games. Baseball, American football, basketball, hockey, very normal to wear jerseys to games for all of those sports.
I find the conversation around wearing kits in European football funny as an American considering how normal it is for us over here lol
As an arsenal fan this humility was therapeutic 😂 thank you for the laughs
Porto away for Arsenal was the biggest sign that maybe Arteta doesn't hold the current squad to as high a regard as everyone else was doing at the time. How do you go to Porto away and not play to absolutely hammer them???
"it suits my agenda" is the only compliment I ever hope to get from Flav one day
just to put my own thoughts across, jaffn is great no matter what, its a great pod
Where can i watch these ripple effect episodes? I cant see it on the channel videos?
Spotify mate, think they do normally end up on the channel a little later on
03:00 You actually sounded like Timo Werner!
Dang I missed that 😂
David Dunn's legacy was the quote about watching himself score on MOTD whilst getting a blowie off of Jackie Degg
Rob Green will only ever be remembered for that mistake at the world cup. Even Baggio to an extent is mostly remembered for missing the decisive penalty in a shootout.
Happy 420 james lawrence 😏 (peep the thumbnail)
Nyland will only be remembered for the ghost goal.
Dyer and Bowyer only remember for fighting eachother.
Martin Taylor only remembered for breaking Eduardo leg.
Peter Enckelman for letting in an own goal against Birmingham City.
Rory Delap will only be remembered for a throw in.
Phil Brown will only be remembered for taking a half time team talk in front of the entire stadium.
I still remember morten gamst pedersen for that absolutely shocking dove against arsenal in 09
Gotta love how Flav, like G Nev, is a special guest on his own podcast every week
was absolutely sweating bullets during that civil war talk if this pod ends that might just be the tipping point i might just end up jumping because i can’t handle the disappointment from liverpool recently combine with the ending of this pod i’d be a absolute terror
Thought Jim was wearing a really cool sweatshirt until I realized what he was doing 😂
THAT Karius grandfinal will haunt the poor guy for the rest of his life
The guy you need to be worried about at an NFL game is the bloke with no shirt on, slamming beers in buffalo when it’s -30 degrees outside.
Can u do a video on how amorim could set up West Ham as he’s had a meeting with the bored today
New bit, Jim does a new impression every pod?
santiago verginis magnificent own goal is definitely his legacy
legacy tarnished: may not be the best timing given his current form, but I would say that the shouts for Aguero being among the top 3 premier league strikers of all time have completely vanished following Haaland's opening season
Really should get this Flav guy on more often.
If you combine the NFL jersey over the hoodie, with the cheek bone face paint like the players sometimes have don't be around them in opposition colors when they're drunk.
Ben Thatcher remembered for THAT 'tackle' on Pedro Mendes.
The lack of nosh chat in my life has been almost as bad as the recent lack of noshes in my life
The Havertz Conundrum: He hampers Arsenal when utilised in midfield - as he doesn't possess the required intensity and stamina, he isn't box to box, he isn't defensive, he can't displace Odegaard as the 'attack' minded one. He can't play upfront, he can't play on the wing... where does he play then.
Hearing my name make it in the pod just made me explode in my pants, cheers Jim
Terrible legacies 🤝 Adam Johnson
Any actual functioning adult Arsenal fan would argue for Saka, Rice, Saliba/Gabriel, and Ødegaard to be in any team in the world.
A few people would shout about Ben White and hes great for what he does and seaerves credit but he isnt world class. This pwrception of Arsenal fans genuineky saying majority of this XI get into any team in Europe is so overblown dor sensationalist sound bites.
Like the footy shirt over the hoody Jim, strong look
Jim knows he's Flav's side piece and just accepts it, quite admirable actually
These pods are more entertaining than the games these days.
