Poetry by Sean Kadagian (Dirty Streets)

Sean Christian’s poetry can be understood through the prism of the extremes he’s lived. From growing up in a community of extreme wealth, to experiencing the hardships of living on cold city streets among the countries growing population of addicts, the mentally ill and the homeless.
His poems are infused with metaphor and flow between the tactile and experiential leading the reader through dream states and altered states alike - from dirty used needles scattered on frigid city streets - to the fantastic geometric shapes and sounds found within the psychedelic experience.
Often writing to the music of West Coast Jazz greats, you can feel the improvisational influence on his work - with all of it’s dissonance and harmony. All of its tension and release. All of its random beats and precise rhythms.
