Amazing house song! Never saw this video but it truly captures the early house scene of the 1990s. Cathy should make a comeback soon. "Move to This" is one of my 10 must have albums of the 1990s.
She has such a great voice. I could never understand why she didn't blow up? I even forgot her name until recently. Now I'm going to track everything she has done down and download it. I love her voice.
I only discovered this today on Hitmix fm uk .. what a tune .. Kathy Dennis smashes this ..such a rare talent not only a great singer but producer, writer and also wrote songs for many stars .. brings back so many memories. Time has caught us all up now .. 35 yrs later, and still this sounds fresh ❤ xx
I hear this now, and I realize that the piano riff that runs throughout this track could seriously be a MAW or Red Zone track from back in the day. We were so spoiled from hearing SO much good music back in the day, we didn't even know to appreciate that it was good and propper that a straight-up NYC house track--produced by some guys from England or wherever--could become a major crossover hit on R&B radio, and also on the pop stations. Crazy. This is a very well-produced track, IMO. And Cathy KILLS it. Xo
I have fond memories of this song. I remember when I first heard it when I was driving home with my dad from college after the completion of my junior year in May 1990. This was such a great song and Cathy Dennis had some great songs. I love her music. I miss the late 1980's and the early 1990's. They were spectacular. I cannot believe that almost 25 years has passed.
Recuerdo que mi prima venia de visita de Chicago a México hace 19 o 20 años siempre nos traia musica nueva y en 1990 esta canción fué lo maximo, todo un suceso, recuerdos, nostalgia ... un abrazo para todos! Gracias a Cathy Dennis... gracias quad442 gran canción, gran video.
It's 2024, and I was feeling nostalgic and started listening D-Mob's full album ("A little bit of this, a little bit of that"). I loved this collab with Cathy Dennis so much... but as I was listening the song now, I was like "I know that piano riff!" LOL - Ace of Base used it in their song "Waiting for Magic". No wonder how I love that song too. And now I understand the reason. Thank you Dancin' Danny Dee for "Waiting for Magic". :D
I so wanted to look like Cathy when I was a young girl - I loved her red hair and funky style (I am sure I would still like to look like her, and I would also love her songwriting talent...). This is great - thank you for uploading! 💃
You and me both. I turned 19 the year that this was released, and I started dressing in street styles because I wanted to look like her. I unfortunately lack the red hair though. The early 90s were such a great era, and I'd love to live those memories again.
@blackshogun77 And she wrote Kylie Minogue's 2001 world wide smash 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' plus 'Come into my world' on that same album which won a Grammy for best dance recording that year!
Such GOOD MUSIC WE HAD, PEOPLE WOULD JUST DANCE AND HAVE THE BEST TIME OF THE LIVES. JUST SANG AND DANCE nothing SEXUAL nothing PERVERTED or EXPLORDING just NEW MUSIC, NEW WAVE MUSIC COMING OUT AND MAKING IT HAPPEN NEW DANCES just plain ol' EXCITEMENT 💃🕺🏽🎶💃🕺🏽🎶💃🕺🏽💃🎶💜🎶💜🎶💜 💣💥🔥🔥
Damn....I remember partying at clubs in NY back in the 90s and hearing the first lines of the synth bass on this song! Blew my mind! Cathy Denis never got the props she deserved.
Also, this isn't really House but R&B (Rhythm and Beats).. Could be labelled under House as well since a 808 was used for the synths and drum machine, but R&B was the original goal the track was heading for while releasing it..

me too, I listen to this song daily.
Me too🤩
I'm so glad I lived to see and through this era. What a time to be alive.
Cathy, you have so much unsurpassed class and talent, I listen to your songs since your beginning and still in 2023!
Memories overload with these beats...90's in High School 🕺🕺🕺🎵🎶💯👌🏽
How did I forget about this amazing tune! Early 90’s British music was on point and so danceable who agrees?
learn how to write '90s and learn what an apostrophe is for
Dropped a tear listening to this tune cause i lost so many of my family and dear friends whom we danced to this hit😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
What I like about this is that shows both backgrounds having fun and laughing. We need more of this in todays world! Love cd.
@@rvegas81 we really do, it's very tough
Sorry dear,take courage!
You too?! I cried thinking of my son being born that year. He passed away this year
I feel you...
30 years later this song still makes a certain sadness come to me. Love me some Cathy
Sigh... I miss this music. The 90s weren't like the 80s, but those years were still special to us gen xers.
Searched and searched....finally found this song....D-Mob & Cathy thanx!!
Hard to believe that almost 30 years have gone by since the release of this real british dance classic...and how wonderful Cathy looked in those days
I still love Chicago house music, even 20 years later. Cathy Dennis rocks.
She does!
Cathy Dennis and DMob are from UK
@mathew tnx for the info
@@RollerDisc88 Yes, we know, but the style of music D-Mob is playing is a form of Chicago House.
@@RollerDisc88 English all the way, when we ruled dance music across the world :0) fun times
When music was simple and fun, just dancing.
Always loved this track. Cathy's a great singer and Danny seemed such a nice guy

Cathy my Hometown Girl from Norwich, UK
Still one of my favourite singers of all time
Maybe the best female soul singer 🎶💃🎼
She has such a great voice. I could never understand why she didn't blow up? I even forgot her name until recently. Now I'm going to track everything she has done down and download it. I love her voice.
Cool, thanks for the info.
Would replay this song at 1990 when it first came out and won't get tired of listening the whole album was that good.
there's nothing like the 80s and 90s awesome yrs!!😂
Definitely agree!!
But now it's all bible Prophecy the way this world is going with the wicked Nation of people that rule it they must be rooted out!
That's the way of the world...cathy dennis and dmob.. never get tired of this song..just a good ol vibe
Love this song! Cathy has great vocals with D MOB!
Estaba en preparatoria cuando sonaba en las discos, ahora en 2024 y con casi 50 años de edad la sigo bailando ✌️👍💪🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
