Ok, first off. Taime is actually pronounced like "tie me down". I exchanged emails with him a couple times in either late 90s or early 2000s. Once, I asked him about his version of "Suck" on Pigface's Feels Like Heaven album. It was originally sung by Trent Reznor on Pigface's first album, Gub. The other one, I think I was inquiring about when the new Newlydeads album was going to be out. It's been a while. In any case, he actually responded himself to my emails. Speaking of Newlydeads, if you haven't heard the self-titled one, check it out. Yes, it's more of an industrial album but it really bridges the Faster Pussycat sound with the industrial direction he was going towards. The Greatest Hits, I have that. I got it specificly for "You're So Vain". My take on the censoring. It's the type of Greatest Hits you'd find for $5 at Walmart or other big stores that at the time would only carry clean versions of albums.
@@matthewg666 hehehe. Now I’ve been told TWO different pronunciations of Taime’s first name…. Which one is correct?? 😂😂 I definitely remember the Newlydeads…. My friend (who came over to my place last saturday) we were just talking about The Power and the Glory Hole compared to Newlydeads…. :) As for the GH, yes it does contain Youre so Vain, but I definitely did not pay 5$ at Walmart for it… definitely add 10$ and it was at HMV. 😋
@@offthecharts2272 Well, after commenting I searched Riki Rachtman and Taime Downe. Riki was pronouncing it "tay-me". I swear I heard it was "tie me" from somewhere, so unless he varied it, let's go with Riki's pronunciation.
I really haven't seen that many bands live, but I HAVE seen Faster Pussycat. Not by choice, but rather because they were opening for Alice Cooper in Biloxi, MS. A HUGE plus was Ace Frehley as a second opener! They were good, but not many people knew them (I knew their 3 videos then from MTV), so people were not packed together at the start & I was even able to catch a pink guitar pick from them. Then Ace no-shows with no explanation given! Years later Alice's personal assistant, Renfield (aka Brian Nelson, who produced the box set) said it was because Ace owed someone money and they placed a lien against his equipment, so he had nothing to play with. Alice, as usual, was great with Raise Your Fist & Yell.🤟
Quite an interesting tid-bit regarding Ace... As far as Alice goes, my first concert EVER was for Trash... wish I could have seen RYFAY tour... I know here it was Motorhead who opened up... When I first saw FP, it wasn't by choice also... (I love how you say it the same way I do "not on purpose" or "not by choice") LOL
Alice was great, but worst part was I left my camera in the car. Not by mistake, but I stupidly chose to! I thought last year (Constrictor) I wasn't anywhere near close enough for good photos, same with other band's "recent" concerts, but had a few photos on the roll I really wanted to process, and was afraid I might damage or lose the camera. Then I was 3 people back from stage...when Alice sang at the front edge I could have reached up and squeezed his nose to see if it would honk! LOL 👃 But my camera was in the car. 📸
Halfway through show I moved back to bleacher seats, because girl with me was so short she couldn't see over even the 2 people in front of her, so only saw stuff if I picked her up, or if Alice came to stage edge. At first was bummed out losing such a prime location, but late in show this huge, gross, street-walking monster lady came out onstage and Alice beheaded her with sword, so fake blood shot all over everyone in first 6 rows or more. I was so glad we moved back! (I assume blood would wash out, but tour shirt that year was white!)⚔
@@UncleDaffy313 Oh I totally get it... bringing a camera back then was quite risky as I did not know if they confiscated it or not and if they gave it back after the show or not... sounds like you could have gotten nice pics! (i did however manage to sneak in disposable cameras as they were cheap...) I knew Alice did the blood thing in the 80s... but not as much as you said! LOL
Yes, they looked pretty well soaked, with their hair matting and faces & clothes stained. They all seemed happy, but it would have irritated me! I kept thinking what people driving past the venue after the show must have thought as dozens of people covered in fake blood emerged. Ha-ha. 🩸
Ahhhhh, that would make sense! I always found it odd... didnt know this song was a radio single? Or if it wasn't, this CD was made to be played on the radio? I never thought of the "radio edit" part...
@offthecharts2272 I never heard it on the radio but they still have those edits sometimes and they end up on greatest hits albums. I have not bought albums because of thar before and have plenty of greatest hits with radio edits.
@@SONIC-BOOM-TV I like when they're nice enough to at least tell you on the sleeve or jewel box that it' has radio edits, so you can still decide if you want it or not. Too often it's a rude awakening as you play it. I once bought The South's Greatest Hits on vinyl from Capricorn Records (still a GREAT Southern Rook compilation, even with radio edits), and I was disappointed when my favorite verse from the song "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" by Elvin Bishop was completely missing!
Seems I forgot to add the intro song for this episode... Doh! Good one Dan!
I noticed it

Thank you! I wasn't sure... :)
Sounds like you got a radio edit on that Greatest Hits. I never bought that so Slip of the Tongue has always been Deep Shit for me.

@UncleDaffy313 I have a L.A. GUNS greatest hits and all of the songs are re-recorded and not in a good way. It doesn't say it on the record at all.
Worst singer ever - for a famous band.
He is not a great singer. But I think that singing style fit the music. Its sounds sleazy and dirty
@@seagullpoet one reason why I did not like them at the time…. NOW I dont mind it as i heard a lot worse. 😋
