Gilbert Gottfried: One Night Stand Up Comedy

- Gilbert Gottfried, who performed stand-up comedy for over 50 years, became known as "the comedian's comedian" because his live performances put aside political correctness while he delivers jokes that know no boundaries.
Gottfried is the most under-rated comic of all time. He is known for speaking in a loud and grating voice, which is not his natural speaking voice. His shtick is, you really don’t know what the hell he is going to come up with next. He is a solid comic.
His comedic career led to roles in "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Problem Child," "Look Who's Talking II," "The Aristocrats" and other films. He was also the voice of the wisecracking parrot Iago in Disney's iconic animated film "Aladdin."
More recently, in 2017, he was the subject of the documentary "Gilbert," about his life. He also co-hosted a podcast, "Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast!" on which he and Frank Santopadre interviewed Hollywood icons and legends.
Gottfried spoke about his penchant for pushing boundaries and said he never held back from joking about topics, no matter how inappropriate it might be. “The other thing that always got me is when they say, ‘Tragedy plus time equals comedy,’ or when they’ll yell, ‘Too soon!’ I always felt like, ‘OK, please show me where the office is where there’s a guy behind a desk who has it marked off in a calendar when something goes from bad taste to OK.’”

This aired in 1992. It was on late, late at night. I was a freshman in high school and falling asleep to this when I started paying attention and laughed in the most medically worrying way - I had never laughed this way before. It was strange. He became my favorite instantly, and still is to this day. What a gem, he still cracks me up in that unsuspecting, sucker punch way where you're just a puddle on the ground. God bless him.
Look up Gilbert Garfield
He is amazing, so original and natural. I saw him in person once.
The vhs quality makes this better lmao
Always hilarious and original. I love how the stage looks like someone is bidding on lawn furniture on The Price is Right.
Strange how this is the only full stand up I can find of his
This video should have millions of views. This set is next level genius
His impressions are easily some of the best i've heard.
I have been searching for this for years! The squid jokes routine has stayed with me all these years since this was first aired. I even quoted from it (somewhat incorrectly I know see) when I heard that Gilbert died. But he sure did a lot of squid jokes, and that means something in this world.
Such an original comedian. He will be missed.
Bob Dylan gets a haircut from Floyd the Barber from the Andy Griffith Show. This might be the funniest minute and a half of comedy I have ever seen. My friends have all seen it and have cried laughing. Absolutely brilliant!
I wonder when they'll have a Gilbert Gottfried hologram for Coachella. I would love to see a Gilbert Gottfried hologram at the next Coachella. It would bring me such joy and pleasure to know he was among his peers such as Freddie Mercury, Biggie Smalls, andTupac Shakur. Now the whole gang can be together again to perform their greatest hits.
it's nice to meet you and to be COMPLETELY honest i did do and will HATE the music from biggie i am were and will be NEUTRAL about tupac's music and i did do and will really really LOVE gilbert gottfried
Rip Gilbert Gottfried🙏🏼
it's nice to meet you and thanks a LOT for the condolences SERIOUSLY
Holy crap I remember this, but never thought I'd see it again 🤣❤😂🤣❤😂❤
He is one of the Greatest Comedians ever. Period. Fact.
I will give you a three-part summary of all of Gilbert's humor: way over the line, almost good impressions, squid jokes.
SHHHHHH
HONEY COME TO THE TV SCREEN
LOOK ITS A JEW IN MIAMI
RIP GIL! (LAGO!) GOTTFRIED! it was a pleasure and honor to watch this sir. also to be the first like!
I love him making fun of the no talent Dice Clay. That was hilarious. Gilbert has such a unique performance style and it is hilarious. I have known of him for like….I don’t know , well over 35 years but for some reason I never really looked into his stand up routines. I always heard him on the Stern show and I loved him. I really don’t know why I never sought out his work. Well I’m glad I have now because he is the best.
Sad to see this legend pass
The squid jokes hahaha
9:35 wasn't too far from the truth. Holy Land in Orlando in the early 2000s. RIP GG.
Genius. Ripped the Dice Man to pieces. :-D
I absolutely love every second of it.
Really liked him as a comedian he was gone too soon
My right ear finds this hilarious
Underrated comment brother. 😂
What a treat
I checked and this is 1992.
One Night Stand: Season 4, Episode 14
He was a sweet man
He says radi-ator just like that Shah of Iran lookalike
There really aren't enough squid jokes in the world.
Anyone have Gilbert on Tom Snyder circa early 90s where he says boomlet and comments on Jurassic Park? It's an obscure memory I have. I know it existed.
If only he was still alive!
Dice Gottfried > Dice Clay

Why are his shoulder pads so small?

RIP Gilbert. Fearless, edgy and simply hilarious. A great lose to the comedy world.
