Thanks, Ken. Great tutorial. I like the finger pickin' version better than the flat pickin'. Only wish we could see your right hand better (but that's probably because I'm lazy and want you to do all the work for me!!).
Hi Andrew. Its pushing up on the high E string at the 3rd fret the the open e string same with the B string then the 3rd fret of the D string 2nd fret of the D string the pull off the 3 rd fret of the low E string. That's whats going on between 3:55 and 4:02.
It's not a Stones song. It's a Rev. Robert Wilkins song; they simply claimed they wrote it when they didn't, just like they did with Robert Johnson's "Love In Vain". That said . . .nice job, man. Some very sweet picking.
Love In Vain was credited to a Robert Johnson publishing pseudonym, and they credited Robert Wilkins for Prodigal Son. Mr. Pus must've read some BS on RUclips😂
Top notch lesson. Good camera angles and right amount of instruction. Really enjoying learning this.
Great lesson. Thank you for for it. I really enjoy playing the song.
Brilliant! I love the fingerpicking. I actually like it more than the flat picking
Good lesson of a Rev Robert Wilkins song the Stones did a good cover but it was just a cover !
Brilliant. I play it with normal tuning but this sounds far better. Thank you.

Really great playing, lesson and arrangement. Is there a tab you are willing to share? Thanks!
You got it man !!!
Love your video, is there any tab by chance?

BigBagOfPus Yes, but to be fair the Stones version of Love In Vain is so different than the RJ song that it only has the lyrics being the same.

Rev Wilkins actually wrote this song. Good lesson though.
I think he was Robert Wilkins when he wrote it (in the late 20's). I don't he was ordained until 1964.
