A joke of a leader who initially let local cops stand-by and watch while looters destroyed businesses around Santa Monica during protests of 2020, only taking action long after most businesses were looted and destroyed. Calls for resignation are in her future and failure to act will be her legacy.
She's not the only one. (too) Many big-city police chiefs had their cops "stood down." Many of them at the behest of their liberal city leadership. I would like to know if she got similar "messages" to pull her cops back, or did so on her own thinking it was politically prudent. If she was essentially told to stand down by the City Mgr and/or Mayor of SM, then she was unfairly "let go."
Couldn't help but notice... is the Chief packing a stainless 1911? I didn't get a good look at it, but that looks like a single stack .45! Go Chief!

Police chief Cynthia Renaud should be forced to resign immediately. This should also apply to the mayor and city Council for dereliction of duty. Miss Renaud
actions only promoted the looting and destruction of Santa Monica and is against the oath she took to protect the city of Santa Monica. Her actions have shown to be either complete incompetence or something more nefarious. Among all the communities in Southern California, Santa Monica should be one of the easiest to police. Instead Cynthia Renaud put forth a plan of action that only helped the looting, destruction and anarchy that destroyed Santa Monica. Miss Renauds actions simply put, aided and abetted criminal behavior, disguised as policing a community. Make no mistake, the destruction of our city of Santa Monica could be considered an organized effort between antifa and your local government. The Santa Monica Promenade and surrounding communities of merchants pay a special promotional tax to the city of Santa Monica which is designed to help police the community of merchants. Millions of dollars are collected each year to protect the merchants from exactly this. The Santa Monica Police Department hid in place when called to duty. What a disgrace to anyone wearing a uniform . This does not surprise me as the Santa Monica Police Department have long been accused of being fascist. They are the first to run and hide when problems occur, but are the first hit you with a stick. Nice to know they protected themselves first and then emerge to protect it’s citizens after most of the danger and chaos had dissipated. I have never been in favor of the defunding a police department however considering the actions of police chief Cynthia Renaud, something needs to be done. Paying millions of dollars a year for a feckless police department is not in the best interest of the people at Santa Monica.
