There is a ex cuban 2-8-0 with that headlight position, it was donated to an american museum and put on display then moved to another and restored to operation, and the headlight was removed and placed at the top of the smokebox.

Even that pilot beam is way to far out. And I noticed that the bachmann k27 after market switcher pilot beam fits with almost no modifications
