Building ap on xin zhao is like building ap on tryndamere. You're building Ap on a auto attack based champion. As a xin zhao main, I'd say this Ap ratio change is only beneficial if you want to build an AP item for it's active, while not being punished too hard for it.

I think the best Xin build is an Hybrid build like Eclipse nashor tooth lich bane botrk and a cosmic for cdr is pretty nice

I don't understand why people still build eclipse, the shield is garbage, and 6% hp damage every 6 seconds, sinderer gives 10% every 1.5 and heals you for half of that
