    I bought one from ACE yesterday and caught one about two hours later. The nice thing is that it’s easy to install without afraid to snap my fingers and easy to drop off the dead moles without touch it, it’s the best trap that I ever had.

    I got a long auger to drill the holes. It's a little smaller than the trap, but easy to widen with the tool.

  • @SDPBALLCOACH
    @SDPBALLCOACH 3 года назад +3

    Ok, these really do work.
    I had my doubts but I got them dialed in and have had success...
    Even work when you find the mound, just clear away the dirt find his entrance and set one, the often come back to repair the opening.
    Also remember that the Boring tool actually seals the tunnel, thus the start digging again, you shouldn't be able to see them.

    • @BondedOakAcres
      @BondedOakAcres  3 года назад

      I agree it seals the tunnel or at least mostly. I happen to see one after the trap had bet set off. I pulled the trap out and one crawled through the opening while I was standing there. I reset the trap in the same spot and 15 mins later I caught it.

    It’s best to gently tug on the hawk & dig around it before pulling it out of the ground. You never know when it’ll be trapped by the paw & still be alive - easy for them to escape. If u feel/see movement of the hawk, it’s still alive & u need to dig it out with a shovel then manually kill it.

    Been fighting with a victor trap for a week now, time to invest in a gopherhawk. The victor trap is almost impossible for me to set up without the help of my husband, which angers me to no end. Don't like being dependent but the Victor trap definitely shows you your limitations.

    Well the problem I’m running into with it is that my entire lawn soil is all soft. It’s well watered. So everywhere I stick the probe it’s soft. Hard to tell where the run is even poking around the holes

    • @BondedOakAcres
      @BondedOakAcres  Год назад

      I have sugar sand, it's hard at times. You should feel like a void when you are probing around for the tunnels. Should be a little resistance then all of sudden it will drop like 1-2 inches suddenly when it reaches the tunnel.
