Well unfortunately the animation is one of the very few scenes we actually have of what the original ending was supposed to look like. The deleted scenes that were filmed for that ending has never surface despite all these years.

NoobsVsPlayers and we got the ability to use our minds. we got choppers - tanks - jets - ships and submarines. We can easily end an apocalypse within a week with our massive nuclear wepones so I don't think the ability to climb can do much against us lol

No it wasn't an alternative ending. It was in the movie when the cures ''terminal diseases'' were found and so everyone infected themselves with diseases because the zombie's did not sense sick people and by that the people could easily kill the zombies by just using swords and other weaponry.
