You have nice pieces of wood for the coming winter. You are very neat and efficient stacking firewood. I'm happy to see you take time from your day to sit and enjoy your dogs and life. I've lived alone for 27 years and sometimes its lonely but the freedom I feel with just a dog and nature outweighs the loneliness big time. I live in the center of my little town but off the road with no one near me, lots of trees and swamp to keep neighbors away. The wild bunnies run right up to me and my dog. They know nothing will happen to them here. I trained my Pit Bull to leave the bunnies alone and he does just that. Bunnies stop right in front of my great dog and he doesn't even look at them. You have that same awesome energy Lisette. You are deeply in touch with nature. Nature reacts to you. Nature is attracted to you. Its an energy thing. Also going barefoot is the best way to communicate with Mother Earth. I have a barefoot friend in Australia and South Africa. We send good vibes to each other. The Finnish style of pancakes are a little thinner, but the picking berries, etc., that brought back some childhood memories. As for siding, would go with vertical steel, not horizontal. Even living in town with mature trees, it's such a pain having to keep horizontal vinyl siding clean. You already have wood on the outside, think some very dark brown or black would make it 'pop'. Thanks for the content, it's nice little escape from all the madness that life can be.

I imagine you must sometimes feel like Sisyphus with all of those piles of wood. But then again, that’s a great workout and it helps you stay in shape given all of the delicious food do you like to cook and eat.😁😁😁
Stacking wood is hard work, summer vacations were always a chore I had when visiting grandparents in NS. I'd love to help you if you need it . Always loved that aroma of cut wood. Fresh picked blueberries always a treat. I have to get the frozen ones which is OK but not the same flavor as fresh. Great video Lisette. Looks like you're having a great summer. Those were good looking blueberry pancakes! Thinking about your siding on your cabin, stone would look great on the lower section either real stone or the stone veneer panels, the veneer panels would be quicker and easier to install. I’ve installed real and heavy stone with mortar on retaining wall when I lived in the mountains and it is definitely hard work! The corrugated metal siding on the upper portion to mix it up and I believe you can paint the metal also to match. LP smart siding is another option and has the look of wood grain and comes in all different colors. It’s really pretty maintenance free. I guess you’d have to consider the cost of these options though what is best. But stone would look great on that lower portion I think. I’m sure you could handle it, call on your sweet sister for help.😊

Cedar is a natural looking wood that is resistant to bugs weather and sun damage. It would require a sealing coat or stain. But this is long lasting. In the old days aluminum siding made popping noises from the sun and cold weather. But it lasts forever. I used vinyl on my home. I chose white because other colors fade with exposure. I have to wash the vinyl with a power washer on the shady side because of moss. The new materials today last longer. Stucco is durable. But stone would require the least maintenance. Cutting vegetation off or power washing. Nothing is 100% maintenance free. But the ideas I gave will help on your decision process. Do your research and ask those that use these materials in similar climates as yours. Maybe the new metal today is sound free but that was the complaint years ago. Good luck. I personally like the natural looks. Cedar or stone. They even have stone fascia today. Comes on panals and is applied with thin cuts to make it lightweight and easier maintenance. Bonne chance ! @@One.woman.wilderness If that's your choice then there is 1/4 stone on panels. I believe some interlock or just adhere by nail or screw's. This type would be the easiest to install I'm sure. There's another type where you put mortise on the siding of the house and then adhere Stone which is usually attached to a mesh onto the motor. You may have to rent a lift and get help. I know you can do it yourself. But you may want to weigh the effort and cost of do it yourself as compared to hiring a company. Je vous souhaite le meilleur. @@One.woman.wilderness Many people call them bilberries, whortleberries or blaeberries in Scotland (look up bilberry in Wikipedia). Unfortunately they are not as common in the UK as they used to be - and you find them on uncultivated moorland (which there is in North West UK). It takes hours to pick a small plastic bag-full but it's worth it. They aren't as sweet as blueberries so you need plenty of sugar but the taste is wonderful. I remember how much I loved them as a child when I first tasted them. Yummy! 🙂

The pinches, scratches slivers, scrapes and heat of making firewood!! It heats you more than 5 times. Falling, bucking, splitting, stacking, burning. Ow fun to see all those wild blueberries you were able to pick. I love blueberry pancakes. I made fresh gluten free pancakes like yours and added mashed bananas into them too for my grandkids. Noah has gluten, dairy and soy fee dietary needs so when my youngest spend the night I bake for them so he gets special baked foods from Nana. He is 10 now and always shows his appreciation.

Those were good looking blueberry pancakes! Thinking about your siding on your cabin, stone would look great on the lower section either real stone or the stone veneer panels, the veneer panels would be quicker and easier to install. I’ve installed real and heavy stone with mortar on retaining wall when I lived in the mountains and it is definitely hard work! The corrugated metal siding on the upper portion to mix it up and I believe you can paint the metal also to match. LP smart siding is another option and has the look of wood grain and comes in all different colors. It’s really pretty maintenance free. I guess you’d have to consider the cost of these options though what is best. But stone would look great on that lower portion I think. I’m sure you could handle it, call on your sweet sister for help.😊

You might want to take into consideration the properties of what you use for siding. Stone would insulate better than metal. Just a thought 💭 🥰

Cedar is a natural looking wood that is resistant to bugs weather and sun damage. It would require a sealing coat or stain. But this is long lasting. In the old days aluminum siding made popping noises from the sun and cold weather. But it lasts forever. I used vinyl on my home. I chose white because other colors fade with exposure. I have to wash the vinyl with a power washer on the shady side because of moss. The new materials today last longer. Stucco is durable. But stone would require the least maintenance. Cutting vegetation off or power washing. Nothing is 100% maintenance free. But the ideas I gave will help on your decision process. Do your research and ask those that use these materials in similar climates as yours. Maybe the new metal today is sound free but that was the complaint years ago. Good luck. I personally like the natural looks. Cedar or stone. They even have stone fascia today. Comes on panals and is applied with thin cuts to make it lightweight and easier maintenance. Bonne chance ! @@One.woman.wilderness If that's your choice then there is 1/4 stone on panels. I believe some interlock or just adhere by nail or screw's. This type would be the easiest to install I'm sure. There's another type where you put mortise on the siding of the house and then adhere Stone which is usually attached to a mesh onto the motor. You may have to rent a lift and get help. I know you can do it yourself. But you may want to weigh the effort and cost of do it yourself as compared to hiring a company.

@@One.woman.wilderness Many people call them bilberries, whortleberries or blaeberries in Scotland (look up bilberry in Wikipedia). Unfortunately they are not as common in the UK as they used to be - and you find them on uncultivated moorland (which there is in North West UK). It takes hours to pick a small plastic bag-full but it's worth it. They aren't as sweet as blueberries so you need plenty of sugar but the taste is wonderful. I remember how much I loved them as a child when I first tasted them. Yummy! 🙂
