Hey guys!
I had trouble for a long time with having too many options! These are my opinions on how you can get over that a little!
If you found it helpful drop a like and subscribe!

Thanks Garron! This is absolutely some advice I'll use. I suppose I need to get past the point of feeling like if I'm not writing music, I'm not being productive.
You are quickly becoming one of my favourite content creators. Great videos!
Thank you :D
Lol pushing it through the limiter withought warning lol ⚠️ be careful using ear buds to listen to this 🤣 luckily I didn't have them turned up too much to start and was quick on turning down
Great video. I learned something.
Great video, thanks! Couldn't help but notice you have ANA2, would love to get your opinions/tips/tricks on that. I think it's a great synth that doesn't get a lot of love.
Definitely man! It's a Beast!!
Ah man, this is such good advice! I'm in a constant battle with myself to do away with windows and install Linux just so I can focus on the stock stuff. It would also go a long way to scratch the itch that is my pathological dislike of Bill Gates, whom on occasion over the years has had me screaming unmentionables into the air like I was trying to reenact the classic "Platoon" image.
Haha, yeah my entire life is based around trying to limit myself now, mainly with plugins and calories lol
Great video.
Couple of questions. If you do the sound design before writing any material how does that work. I have read that there is no hard and fast rule for this approach, though a lot of people do it this way I guess... like a year in the studio designing sounds before writing any songs. That seems quite alien to me as I find sound design is something woven into the development of a track. But hey.
I tend to do the reverse. Slap placeholders in, then replace things with tailored stuff. I can't say it is better or worse approach.
Obviously sometimes I do know ahead of time I really want some kind of specific aesthetic I suppose, so there is that.
Which leads me to my second question I have built so many sounds, and not to mention the ones that come in the box. There is no way I could even remember what I had made let alone the other stuff. I can't figure out a way of organizing and tagging them. Even my project workflow is very sloppy.
If you could make a video on general "production hygiene" that would be great. Everything from how to organize your physical disks and folders, through to organizing projects, presets and keeping everything within arms reach.
Anyway, as usual, thanks for the great content.
I organize my synth presets in this format:
[Type of sound] [Name] [Device/Plugin/s used]
eg. SY Siberian [Polysynth]
Also SY - Synth, PL - Pluck, BA - Bass,
PD - Pad.
I have been doing this since I started producing. Works great for me! You should try it.
I sound design before arranging, and that doesnt mean I never sound design in the arranging process itself.
But most of the sounds are already there for me to load up, and It just speeds up the amount of time actually writing the song and arranging.
@@nebroskitheraut6705 ahoy, thanks for the tips, I will try harder. Right now I just make custok collections, like "Fat Basses", or "Arp's I like". That gets old after a while. I'll try changing some things up.
@@nebroskitheraut6705 Hmmm yeah. I have to do sound design in the contextbof some feeling or vibe. So I mostly sound design while sketching at the same time. I do pull those sounds out from the sketches though for other stuff, so maybe I am actually doing a similar thing at the end of the day and calling it by another name.
@@christianbeaumont5318 good luck mate and have fun making music!
