Watching Disney movies flop and Disney losing millions of dollars has become my new favorite pastime.
what a crappy pasttime
It honestly makes me sad. They used to make such good movies back in the day. Poor Walt Disney is probably spinning in his grave right now.

This movie would be great if the plot twist was that she was wrong wanting everyone to have their wishes granted.
The idea is that she’d see that not all wishes are for the good, and there are bad people in the world.
It would be such a great message for the new generation. They think they’re always right and disdain older people’s wisdom.
But naaaahhhh…. ‘Evil white guy’ is more Disney-like
That would have been so much better, I was thinking the same thing. Not all people have good intentions.
yeah, you could have villain who seems to have good intentions but whose intentions are actually evil
Oh that would be an epic twist!
Thats one of themes of Bruce Almighty. A random Jim Carey comedy vehicle from 20 years ago has more emotional and moral depth than these new Disney movies
To be fair, Magnifico technically isn't white. He'd more or less be a Spainiard in real life.
Huge Disney fan as a kid. Renaissance era of Disney (Mulan, Tarzan, Little Mermaid, etc.) was my favorite, I miss the hand drawn animation and how unique the stories were. Same goes for Pixar, everything was carefully crafted and planned, but now, their movies are just made to appease 1% of the population and it has "Corporate" written all over it instead of "Passion and art". I really hope that either they stop pandering and making actual creations, or a new great studio actually makes passionate animated films.
Yes this
Agreed! I must admit, though, that Encanto is a rare gem among their recent flops
Exactly
@cherryhazard8002 I have to believe that eventually the share holders are going to put a stop to the loss of profits due to the DEI woke agenda going on there. Money talks, BS walks.
Perfect example is studio ghibli. They tend to have an environmental and anti war message but those messages NEVER take priority over character development and plot. They get you to care about the characters and their struggles. Much the opposite to Disney
Disney needs to bring back dark stories with characters people actually care about, because these movies are so forgettable. (Like Frollo, one of my favs ever because of how much he's an actual villain.)
That "Hellfire" song is my favorite Disney scene ever. It's so dark for Disney. And check out Jonathan Young's cover of it (and many other Disney songs, but Hellfire and Be Prepared are the two best).
And even better is he's a real villain that thinks he's righteous and doing the right thing.
I disagree first and foremost some people do care about these characters from these newer movies
As kalim’s #1 fan since 2019 I love ur pfp
I love the Huntchback of Notre Dame, but that movie flopped hard when it was out at the time.
Reading the spoilers for this movie, I'm just... Baffled.
The king is for real the 'villain'. Asha is for real the 'hero'.
It seems like the movie would have been far better if the two managed to find something closer to a middle ground. Not all wishes _are_ safe. Even little kids can easily understand and comprehend that considering how many fairytales warn "be careful what your wish for". The fact that Disney writers can't...
Time to write our own stories.
honestly the only reason he's the villain is because he became corrupt for power over time, which would've made sense if Disney framed him as a good-guy turned villain since he did grow paranoid about people's wishes being used for evil. But no. i guess he had to literally be a corporate leader instead of a magical king

When PS1 graphics look more well-animated and polished than a $200 million dollar Disney film, you know you have a bomb on your hands. Disney is long gone at this point.
It's so true. This movie graphics are so weird. Looks like a mobile ad. 😕
It’s insane how it came out in the same year as Spider-Verse and How Do You Live, and looks really unfinished.
They should try rendering with the Sega CD next time. 😂
Don't diss PS1 graphics, they came out with masterpieces quite often. But I do agree that this looks sooooo not great.

I feel like they just ask an AI to make a movie script and we got this.... 😅
Precisely. And the AI is called K.E.V.I.N. It's documented by Disney itself.
AI could probably do a better job than ESG Disney.
Right?? Magnifico and star? I haven't seen the movie, but those names just scream AI 🤣
I tryed to read an AI manga.... it was bad... it made no sense at all and it skipped around in the story.

They focused so heavily on diversity that they forgot to couch it within a good product.
where is the "heavily" "focused" diversity in this movie?

The king is the villain, a true one this time.
That is the kind of plot that every cartoon follows, saying that every wish shouldn't be greanted, even a kid knows! How Disney is doing this? Is a bad message like Raya
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967Doesn't really seem that way. It looks like he has kept his kingdom in peace and prosperity and used his power wisely.
Isn't that what also happens in Bruce Almighty? When he takes over and does "God's work", he grants everyone's wishes and then hell breaks loose.
@@awsome182 Yep, it used to be "be careful what you wish for" in these types of stories, now they're just telling people to expect to get everything they want.
Just from the trailers, here was my first impression and predictions:
-The animation looks half-baked and unfinished. Disney likes to use squash and stretch way too much on these characters' mouths.
-Asha is a Frankenstein's monster of every "adorkable and quirky" character Disney has done before, like Moana, Mirabel, and Rapunzel. Her mannerisms and lines communicated 'Hey, I'm going to be clumsy and weird but I'm funny and cute lol uwu"
-The music seems like it was rushed and that Disney believed only stupid kids would be watching and wouldn't mind as much. The music acts more like lazy filler if anything else. Bland and forgettable.
-I almost didn't think there was a villain in this movie because of how unremarkable he appeared. I really thought he was going to be another random "goofy side character"
-Too many goofy side characters, not even memorable or funny, likely as a poor attempt to make them into toys that kids would beg their parents for, especially the goat.
-The movie was most likely going to make the fact that the goat has a deep voice funny, which it isn't. "HAHA! You expected the goat to have a cute little baby voice, didn't you, but he doesn't!!! Isn't that funny! HAHAHAHAHAH!"
-Any white character, if any, is going to be made to look like a fool or a bad guy.
Absolutely Nailed it… How the hell do you have a 200 million dollar budget for an animated film and THIS is how it turns out? So damn embarrassing 😳 the older Disney films like lion king, Aladdin etc usually had a budget under 50 million if even that. And yes why the hell do they always make the villains white now? We haven’t had a black villain since 2009
I’ve seen RUclipsrs reviewing wish and saying the music is the worst they’ve heard and it sounds like something from a baby show like coco melon.
The goat with the deep voice who makes butt jokes gives me depression.
Good list. I believe the reason why it looks dull is because, again, the shading and saturation is just too dark. Idk what's with Disney and dark movies these days..
We are never getting Villian songs like Hellfire, Mother Knows Best, Be Prepared, or Friends on the Other Side again.
Of course. We can’t have stories that teach lessons about being human, because human life has no value anymore.
Once upon a Studio felt like the perfect 100th anniversary celebration. It literally has everything Disney rolled into one. It's the perfect conclusion to their celebration.
@@AntsTheaterCorner2698 I agree! That short made me cry the first time I watched it. It was so sweet.
Hellfire was absolutely supernatural and inmaculate, Disney will NEVER take the risk they took with The Hunchback of Notre Dame again. And it's honestly heartbreaking.
@@sweethistortea I haven't even watched it, is it worth checking out?
Disney really needs to start expanding their character designs. When I first saw the main character, I thought the movie was an Encanto spin-off starring the plant power sister.
One of her friends look like the girl from strange World and one of the boys in that group look like Bruno but light skin 😭😭
Oh, yes. Definitely. Tangled is fine as the first 3D movie, but then every movie after that started looking the same. It’s boring to look at, at this point
I thought I was the only one who saw the similarities! I didn't think it was a spin off but from the first trailer where we didn't get a good look at her freckles I was like "Did they really get so lazy they just copied and pasted???"
Encanto was one of those rare times that modern Disney got it RIGHT, so they must be coasting by on familiarity being a selling point
Tbh I would have preferred an Encanto spin-off. Encanto is the best thing Disney has done in recent years
WHY do the animals have to talk?? Look at Tangled. That horse never spoke but he had so much personality
With each movie Disney puts out, it makes me mourn the older movies even more. We will never have anything like that again.
Exactly my thoughts 😢
Not from disney. Though top gun and across the spiderverse prove that good movies can still be made and successful

A good story which is perhaps poorly executed IMO is the 2009 American science fiction fantasy film directed by Jamin Winans entitled Ink. It is a story of a comatose child who battles for her soul in a dream like realm. The full movie is easy to find here on this platform.

''I didn't like he princess and the frog Movie because the characters weren't white'' Yeah, nobody is surprised that a white person from Africa would say that 🤣🤣
@@CHPYXO I don't think that was what that person meant at all, more like yeah it does not matter if it's a white character or a black character just make it a good ORIGINAL one with a well written story that can entertain it's audience, something Disney was known for. It used to be magical because it was all about the entertainment! Art of it's finest, had depth to it, was full of life. It's rather dull and boring, no magic, no good writing and no fun.
@@CHPYXO Why you assuming someone's skin color based solely on a comment pointing put the Princess and the Frog(the original tale) was about white europeans during feudal times?
They made a good point too. Let's put less focus on Diversity and Representation so the focus can be on the actual story and not making sure they check a bunch of required DEI boxes to appease political sentiment.
the movie didn't get negative reviews because it's "woke" and has POC characters. it got negative reviews because of its storyline, characters and soundtrack.
1:14 I agree. I saw the Wish movie just now and I enjoyed it, and King Magnifico was a fun villain, but he wasn't very menacing or scary. Villains like Frollo & Scar felt truly powerful, menacing, scary & dark.
Villains don’t always have to be God levels of scary to work.
@@achaudhari101 No not every villain has to be Thanos or Galactus or Unicron; however, unless they are nothing, but a comedic secondary villain used as a punching bag (like Starscream), then they must be credible enough to imperil what the hero wants or needs, if not the protagonist's life itself. Whether it's Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey) or Ratigan, Dragon or E.P. Arnold Royalton, Esq.
I think it would've been better had they given him a bigger backstory. All he alluded to was a burnt cloth and nothing more.

Strange that they'd make the king the villian when he's absolutely right about the wishes. Imagine if someone wished death on another. Does the movie think that wish should be granted?
I don't think the issue is about the wishes being granted, the issue is that the king is not giving the wishes back to the people to fulfill themselves. By not giving them back, he is keeping a part of each person and they feel less whole.
I completely agree many prior Disney movies have pushed the narrative be careful what you wish for so why is the king all of a sudden a villain for saying the exact same thing

Massive fan of old Disney here, it seemed really inspirational when they were at their lowest in the 80's and were able to regain their popularity with amazing cartoons such as The Gummi Bears and The Great Mouse Detective, while now when they're at it again they're basically digging their own grave. Such a shame

No wonder Misha said it came out of nowhere, when will Disney understand they can have strong characters with individual complex character arcs and also feature romance. It doesn't have to be one or the other, a character being in love doesn't automatically make them weaker, in fact it can actually show a characters strengths and both characters can help further each others development bu complementing each other. An excellent example of this is tangled where Rapunzel and Flynn had their own individual character arcs and were still able to go through these channels with the romance, showing how one character could act as a catalyst for the others storyline. It's ashame we don't see this anymore due to Disney's warped beliefs
I miss the days when Disney made genuinely good movies
As an Afro-Brazilian descendant, I find it so strange to see black people in stories that should obviously have white characters. You know, it's like seeing humans on other planets, trying to be aliens, and not being human.. What I mean is that WOKE culture is trying to turn black people into white people. That's what I feel when I see black people in the medieval ages pretending to be Norse. Personally, as a black Brazilian, I feel insulted. But I don't rebel because I know that WOKES are stupid.

One thing King Magnifico and Frollo have in common is that King Magnifico saw Asha as a traitor and wanted to execute her like how Frollo saw Esmeralda as a witch and wanted to execute her, but by burning her.
Burning people is a ritual much older than the Siege of Minerve, but why they would choose to inject this ritual into a show sold to young minds speaks loudest as to who exactly they are. Hint: They are only appear white when it works toward their own benefit.
But Frollo only really reverted to that belief in an attempt to rationalize his sexual desire for her and to justify his hate for her, despite it actually being a reaction to her perceived rejection. Case in point, Frollo is still 100x more complex of a character than Magnifico 😭

I think what the movie is really missing is a actual good story, good music, and good animation. Here’s what I’d change to make this movie better.
1. Have the movie fully 2d animated and backgrounds fully hand painted.
2. Hire Alan menkan to do the music and soundtrack
3. Rewrite the story so that Asha is Magnificos daughter which would be way more interesting.
4. Make Asha’s personality a mixture of mulan, Pocahontas, and Megara but still making her unique with her own interests.
5. Get rid of all the stupid talking animals especially the goat.
6. In the original script the star was going to be like a Peter Pan type character and he was going to be Asha’s love interest.
7. Do NOT try and make Asha the fairy god mother and the goat the founder of zootopia!! That’s ridiculous
8. Cut out all Asha’s 7 friends and give her only 1 friend that’s actually interesting.
I will legitimately donate a lot of money to a fundraiser for a movie like this. It sounds fun and refreshing and an actual nod to the past like Wish was supposed to be.
Wasn’t the star supposed to be her grandpa who passed away before the story takes place? That’s at least what I’ve heard

Well, sounds like Disney bought the script for the movie on Wish.
QUESTION-
Did they explore the relationship between Magnifico and Queen Amaya?
Did she love him?
Ever since they announced Magnifico as a traditional Disney villain, his status as a married man worried me, since that meant he had someone that loved and cared for him and was going to see him be revealed a villain and his downfall; which means that Amaya was going to be put through great grief.
I havent watched the film yet and Someone spoiled the very end for me, so I dont know if their relationship was a loveless one, or if it became loveless through the course of the movie; but in the end she shows no emotion and even appears to be content with what happened to him.
IF they did love each other, then this would be character assassination, it would be the worst sort of writting and their love is being brushed aside to avoid the consequences of the conflict and by all that alone I would have given this film a 2/10 because of how terrible these two characters were written.

Someone did spoil the ending for me and thats what has me baffled.
SPOILERS (to anyone else)....
They supposedly did love each other, had shared many great times together, so her finding out he was a villain and just tossed him in the dungeon with little to no emotion. No struggle, no heartbreak, no tears that she had to do what she did, but that he was a person she had profoundly loved and he loved her.
This is what is rattling in my head as WHAT THE HELL???
Am I getting this right??
This is they type of writting from a company that has given us some of the most heartfelt moments in animation history?????
@@artsveiman7776 If anything, her muted reaction to her husband's imprisonment just gave me the impression that she wasn't totally over him, but thought he deserved this "time out" on the dungeon wall. It just didn't feel like a definitive conclusion for any sort of arc.
@@incrediblefunk7220 but, from what was spoiled to me, her reaction wasnt muted or dumbfounded; that would be a better reaction, it would mean she was in shock over the situation of suddenly discovering that the man she loved for many years, was a villain.
Her reaction however, and again, as spoiled to me, was complacent, she smirked, she smiled, as if he had been her long-time nemesis in a cat and mouse game, rather than a person she had given her heart to and shared intimate moments together.
The villain's literal motivation vs. Asha's motivation is peak wokeness. Someone saying "um... how about not all wishes are coherent, well-defined or even SAFE so maybe it's better for everyone if they're not granted" and being responded with "EVERYONE NEEDS THEIR WISHES GRANTED" really sounds like the left screaming that everyone needs to be accommodated regardless of how ridiculous their ideas are and villainizing anyone who contradicts them. I wonder if that was intentional. I haven't watched the film yet and I already kinda understand the villain's reasons.
Asha actually simply asks for their wishes to be returned to them if he's never going to grant them which is why the end goal is just to release them back to the people.
Asha legit was asking why he was keeping the wishes he wasn't going to grant, it's a valid question and he never truly answered it.
I just watched this, and I would never want children to see this movie. Most bad Disney movies are harmless. This one isn't. The morals of this movie are incredibly twisted. The "villain" is a man who dedicated his entire life to helping people, who built a kingdom on an uninhabited island from the ground up, welcomed anyone in the world to it with open arms, gave his citizens all the necessities of life, didn't collect taxes, and granted the wishes of his subjects without getting anything in return (not even gratitude).
He did this because his village was destroyed and his family was murdered and he wanted to make a place where such a tragedy could never happen again. Even the intention behind him keeping people's wishes is good because he doesn't want any of his subjects to feel the pain of unfulfilled wishes.
Everyone in the kingdom knows the deal. Their wishes may or may not get granted, and they'll forget what they were until they are. They all seem okay with this, too. He explicitly only takes the wishes of people who are 18 years of age or older, so they are all consenting adults, and he doesn't grant wishes that can have unforseen consequences or be harmful. Also, when he does grant a wish, he give the person exactly what they wanted without any attempt at twisting it. He's also looking for an apprentice to teach his magic to, showing that he has no problem with sharing his power and that he doesn't want to have a monopoly on wish granting.
The "hero" is a selfish, 17 year old girl who spent her entire life living in the utopia the king built. She is not above using people, as shown when she used her audition for Magnifico's apprentice to ask for a favor (doing so in record time). She has never known hardship, and being told "no" once was enough for the universe to intervene on her behalf to grant her wish.
She, of course, believes that all wishes are good and deserve to be granted and dismisses the opinions of the king who studied and worked hard for his magic and has spent at least 3 generations granting wishes and seeing what kind of things people wish for.
The movie tries hard to make Magnifico the villain, but his only "villainous" act prior to being corrupted by the book is saying no to Asha. Otherwise, his kingdom is a functional utopia, and he receives no benefit from all the good he does.
This makes it all the more jarring when we get to the end of the movie, and he is imprisoned in the mirror. The people know he's been corrupted, but make no effort to save him. Nobody grieves for him. No one reacts in a way you would expect a human with any amount of empathy to act. They instead gleefully torture him. He's already suffering a fate worse than death, he's at their mercy, completely powerless, and the choose to make his life as miserable as possible for no other reason than to inflict suffering on another human being. It's genuinely disgusting.
Exactly 💯
The "hero" was just a spoiled 17 year old throwing a tantrum just because she was told "no". Everything you wrote here is true
I thought Wish was a fairly decent movie with an interesting modern fairy tale storyline. I agree there were too many songs during the first half of the movie, but the way the story uses the song “The Wish” as the vehicle for Asha and the people to free themselves from Magnifico’s black magic was compelling. Disney did a decent job trying to create a modern fairy tale movie, similar to those that had gone before, but didn’t land it completely.
I thought it was fine. Elemental was boring
Who knew living for free meant no rent?! XD
Honestly, that little mistake could’ve been corrected if the songwriters made him say something along the lines of, “You can live here in my kingdom and I won’t charge you rent.” I know my version sounds a little too long but just think of a more condensed version and BOOM!! No more weird AI generated lyrics.
@@sweetparriz That sounds way better!
If Disney ever goes bankrupt I hope Elon buys it and renames Disneyland X land😂😂😂 that would be a fun irony
Yeah, no thanks
If he buys Disney, he should just fire literally everyone there almost like he did with Twitter. And yes, further humiliating them with a dumb name would be a cherry on top but, I feel like keeping the namesakes would be a classier take
"Disneyland X land" is honestly about as creative as I would expect it to actually be
DISNEY X LAND 💀
I like how people have claimed that this film is "Disney's return to its family values" but it's literally about a lazy revolution.
The villain doesn’t even look like A fairytale character more like a modern hairdresser smh
I don't watch many movies these days (when I do, I tend to go back to the classics rather than take a chance on anything new), but I did watch a newish release recently: Cocaine Bear. And, to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. For sure, it has the usual bad language and excessive gore in it, but it was also well-paced, humorous, had characters you could get invested in, took some unpredictable twists and turns, and just got straightforwardly on with the job of being entertaining rather than forcing THE MESSAGE down the viewer's gullet. I wouldn't say it was an edifying watch, but it was solid entertainment.
"Wish' sounds sad and dull. Three animated films that might not be too well known, but should keep young people entranced and adults interested are: An Irish film called, 'The Song Of The Sea' about two children go on a magical voyage to find their mother who disappeared when they were young - she was a Selkie. A few kleenix might come in handy at the end. Beautiful an different animation miles away from Disney and Pixar. From France is an animated film, Long Way North' about a girl funding a voyage to the far north to search for her scientist father who sailed north and never returned. Set in 19th Century Russia, this has a realistic heroine and splendid animation. I prefer the French language original with English subtitles - but I know most will prefer the English dubbed. Finally an American animated film with a classical Japanese setting about a boy setting out of a fantastical adventure, and parts are a little scary. Lovely animation with splendid voice acting.
Granting everyone’s wish is a bad idea, Bruce Almighty has proven this.
Asha was the true villain of this movie.
Everyone in comment section is so dumb.... people just don't get a simple thing that all the wishes were not granted at the end....they were just returned back and to achieve their dreams people were left to work on them....i think in the middle of the movie it was clearly stated that the star cannot makes the wishes come true....he was juts there to help Asha nothing more.
Exactly
What’s funny is that, as a Star Wars fan, I could turn this movie back onto Disney by comparing them to the king. All I wanted was the original trio to be treated with respect, but Bob Iger and KK decided they didn’t want to grant my wish. Therefore, I have every right to try and destroy their “kingdom”. Good work guys! You played yourselves!
Meanwhile Dreamworks is still dropping bangers as of 2023
They *sometimes* drop bangers. Their teenage kraken movie flopped as well

I was thinking about Puss in boots but yeah. Kung fu Panda 4 and Shrek 5 will hopefully be good though.

Yeah…maybe 2022 but not this year. But still, Trolls 3 is PROBABLY more entertaining than this AI generated travesty.
Did you watch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish? It’s a superb movie that laughs in the face of modern entertainment. If you haven’t seen it yet, I think you would appreciate it a lot.
It is amazing!
Am I the only person who thought the whole concept of this movie was somewhat anti-Christian? Or at least anti-God? Sorry, I’m probably going to sound like “that person” for a minute, but the whole concept of a king who only answers some wishes and not others made me think of the concept of praying to God and unanswered prayers.
I’m not trying to say that said concept was offensive (it wasn’t for me), but it was a parallel I definitely noticed while watching the trailer. And libs definitely seem to have problems with traditional Christianity.

Disney animation used to have quadruple the frames per second, like Loony Tunes, it was SO smooth, now it's all computer generated (degenerate-ed?) choppy crap. Take me back to the 20th century. '97 and '98 were great years.
The one Caucasian male protagonist is THE VILLAIN. Disney is so outrageously predictable and creatively bankrupt, it's pathetic, not to mention sad, especially for those of us who grew up watching Disney's animated masterpieces of better days.
Disagree at least they're to do something new and different can't say the same for most other studios who keep relying on reboots, remakes, sequels, and prequels how often do we get any original movies in theaters these days
@@animezilla4486 You have every right to disagree, of course, but Disney's announced future releases such as Toy Story 5, Frozen 3 and Inside Out 2 just to name a few. Following your line of thinking, Disney is no different from the other studios you're referring to.

To my understanding, the movie was supposed to look more like traditional 2D animation. (One of the girls in the movie even looks like Snow White) but it doesn’t quite work all the time. Klaus on the other hand made a 2D movie that looked 3D with lighting tricks.

Thanks Misha. Wish Disney would get back to a less woke attitude. It is good that you review for people. Parden the pun on Wish! 😇😎
Like how…
Belle loved someone for who they are, not appearances.
Aladdin needed to be true to who they are and not lie to meet societal expectation
That Ariel was trying to be with someone not who isnt like her
Mulan not conforming to gender stereotypes.
Those are all y’all’s definition of “woke” I hope ur media literate enough to see that.
Disney’s stories have no place for hate- it’s entire core is to show that there’s power in goodness and being true to yourself and others.
If woke to u is just diversity then idk what to tell u bub.
@@Akademya101nah..old Disney movie hv subtle & good core massage that the audience Interpret in the end of movie, what's made it unique is one person interpret can be different from one to another, like Mulan you can think she's breaking gender stereotypes but there's massage abt how a kids love & devoted their own parents or Ariel who wanna to explore human world then fall in love in the process & how her naivety to just give her voice to Ursula can cause great disaster, that's what made movie interesting while modern Disney just full on dictate their agenda like constantly preaching abt what you should do as audience to be relate with characters( it's similar mindset of virtue signaling activist) that's what made the movie mid & not interesting again! Ppl watch movies not to get constantly remainder of wokeshit massage🤷as for diversity none cares actually bc princess & frogs, Mulan, Pocahontas, Aladin is one of box office classic till now ppl still love them, meaning ppl care abt story not race/culture display on movie.
Also Disney heroin just carbon copy of each other, it's always quirky & clumsy girls who want to explore new world/something around her🤔 it's been like that since Tangled till now wish, ppl start to bored you know??not to mention 3D character design also limit facial features like wish heroin literally similar with flower girl in Enchanto😂😂

Evil white men?!! Can we say "over used clice '"?!!!
I really can't justify going through all the trouble and headaches of going to a theater, and i used to spend entire days at the movies. But with the lack of quality films have been having and the increase of costs of streaming services I'd rather wait and watch new films at home. The whole "i have to see that ASAP!!!!" thing is long gone 😢 And besides, i can get real people's thoughts, like yours, about movies. You did a great thing by telling people that Disney still hasn't gotten their magic back. I'm seriously wondering if they ever will 😢

This sounds like the perfect Disney 100 year anniversary movie. Very fitting. Encapsulates all thats wrong with modern Disney but with a glimmer of what they used to be, despite how hard they work to erase it.
I was very curious about that movie. I do not have big expectations, though. Thanks for the vid. Godspeed.
Even the message you mentioned "you have to work for your own wishes" became impossible, as they forgot their wish 💀💀
so now i swear there's no message even attempted to be portrayed in this movie.
Also ahsha stumbled into everything. She was told the big twist about the king and then a song later she was told by the animals/star what the solution was. Her character went thru no development. She stayed the same throughout, she just learned new information. I also thought with the king and mentioning his tragic backstory I thought they may be going for a double message. Give him a redemption arc and let him learn u can’t just blindly go after your wishes either. You work hard for them but also be wary about becoming too focused. But nope they just had him go way off the deep end and didn’t mention anything else about it lol. I swear someone else came in and wrote the second half of the script
Lmao girly is mad that’s there’s more poc in the movie. That’s wild. From what I’ve watched a lot of people just thought the movie was boring. I didn’t see anyone comment on the race of characters besides this review 👁️👁️. Interesting.
she does have a right to be mad about it though, a lot of people were mad when the majority of characters were white, why cant she be mad about the majority of people being poc. its the same thing, if one was alright, the other should be alright too
@@rainwaff. as poc I never found it weird when casts were mostly white bc tbh I’m just used to it. And if it was all poc, it’s still not “moving” me. Bc tbh I don’t care. That’s why I’m like why is it a problem??? Tbh I think what should matter more is the story and why it wasn’t great and a disappointment to those who watched it. And tbh, everything has always been, white people. In every sense so when one movie out has a more poc cast it shouldn’t trigger a white person when everything has always been FOR WHITE PEOPLE lol. It’s just how it’s always been. 😂
Tbh the style wasn’t a problem for me because initially I heard that the movie would’ve been very watercolor-ish. However, I was disappointed to see that they didn’t fully commit to it. Sure the backgrounds may be watercolor but there should’ve been something…more to it. I wish they committed to making a genuine watercolor inspired movie instead of something that looked like a draft. Also, as a HL IB Visual Arts student, the focal points within all the scenes were sooo off. Some colors didn’t match and some scenes had more emphasis on either middle ground and background rather than foreground. A visual semi-mess. The story itself felt as a pitch of a Gobelins animation student. Which is actually very good but from a Disney studio you expect that pitch to be edited and altered so that there’s more depth, more lore, more layers. So overall, the film was like a Gobelins students film rather than something meant to be released by a billion dollar studio
People assume all that music was ai 😂
I remember when Entangled was released and I thought to myself that it was a reheated trope, but overall well made and cute. I wasn't really surprised at the turn of events, as I was already an adult with good knowledge of how stories and characters are created, but I still enjoyed watching them. Loved the evil mother. Loved the songs. I still remember the sight of meters of cut hair laying lifelessly on the tower floor, something out of an old tale that Rapunzel really is. Yet still I woudn't call it one of the best Disney has to offer.
This one is supposed to commemorate 100 years of Disney, and doesn't come close to Tangled, not even mentioning Mulan or the Little Mermaid.
Excellent points I agree
Being completely honest, it is worrying a company such as Disney is capable of absorbing this many box office failures. Maybe I'm getting the numbers wrong and these loses that one sees reported from time to time are more than compensated by other successes I'm not aware of, but still. That a company can have these failures tells me that either Disney is getting some kind of subsidy or tax break to make these movies, which is a serious problem (the entertainment industry is one of the most lavishly and wastefully subsidized industries in the country, at all levels) of governments using the, so to speak, "power of (the subsidy) purse" irresponsibly and tendentiously, or that Disney has so much capital, so much cash, and its markups are so high that they (or the parent company) just don't care how much money they lose on what can only be described as vanity projects of its executives. The latter is a somewhat less serious problem, but still an indication that this ideologically driven entertainment will continue for the time being.
3:40 It's a obvious reference to Carl Sagan's famous quote “The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.” because all matter in the universe, every atom was ejected from stars. Material gathers to the point it collapses and preforms nuclear fusion and from that all life formed. We indeed are born from stars until the point in time entropy wins out and causes the heat death of the universe.

It's funny how Disney likes to talk about people of color versus white people, when really we're all just human with different amounts of melanin in our skin. Really there's no such thing as white people, as white is the absence of color; the people they're calling White would be more accurately described as a light peach color. And the people they call black are really just a dark shade of brown, it's all just different degrees of melanin in our skin, and Disney (and other woke neo-Marxists) has built this whole ideology around it. It's wild 😅
Guess by their logic I’m white since my skin is way lighter than my parent’s 😂
I thought Wish was delightful. The animation looks great and voice cast is fantastic. Magnifico could have been fleshed out more, but overall I enjoyed it.
I actually enjoyed this movie. The only issue I had were the visuals. I personally didn't see any woke ideology. I think some people are reading too much into looking for anything woke to complain about.
They are brainwashed by Twitter
Every scene with the animals felt so trippy since they just talked and danced out of nowhere for no real reason. They also seemed to have all the answers to everything. Usually animals enhance Disney stories but the Wish ones really didn't do anything but pad runtime
To answer your question at the end, I quite enjoyed the Five Nights at Freddy's movie. I would give it a 8/10, not the best or most coherent story but still entertaining. I thought the work put into the references and the animatronics themselves was really well done too, so it was nice that there was genuine heart put into this movie.

As someone who left the entertainment arts industry, I can tell you exactly why the art, story, and songs are terrible these days: NEPOTISM. They just get whoever they’re friends with or associated with or folks with money instead of hiring actual talent. And when someone talented submits a portfolio, some teams sometimes steal from that person then reject them to plagiarize off of their ideas. It happened to “Book of Life” as well. Coco was a stolen tale, and only us, who worked in the industry, know about this. The entertainment arts industry is done for. Even cartoons today are horrendously dull, boring, and lack the creativity and morals that older cartoons had.
I saw Wish and honestly, people are holding it to an unrealistic standard. Is it perfect? No, but if you just want a simple fairy tale story, it’s perfectly fine. Also the movie wasn’t Woke at all. I mean Asha wasn’t pretentious or OP or unlikable, at worst she was just kinda Bland. The white guys weren’t portrayed as toxic, even Simon was seen as someone who made a human mistake. Is Wish a masterpiece? No. Is it a cute fantasy and a nice simple fun time? Yes.
Great job Misha 😺
I swear, Disney's modern morality is 180° backwards. Modern Mulan, all of the MSheU, modern Star Wars characters, this thing...all of the "heroes" are villains and viceversa. 🤦♂️
I’m glad someone did a review on this
*the Queen waiting on the shadows that her husband goes insane to lock him on the dungeon and rule the kingdom by herself* 😈
Misha didn't mention the main big "twist" of the movie, that it's a Disney Cinematic Universe where the characters from previous Disney animated movies originated from this story. It's such a desperate move.
Omg, that sounds so dumb.
Uhm no? Making an idea isn't desperate they did that with house of mouse but it wasn't canon they did that with Aladdin but it's just an Easter egg and with descendants but it's just a spin off and not canon but Wish is the origin of every Disney movie that's connecting every Disney movie explaining how this wishing star came to be only because they release something they aren't desperate if I would go to the supermarket I wouldn't say omg look at these products they're so desperate like no its they're job same with Disney releasing movies is theyre job
I love these movie reviews. It’s so sad how Disney has gone down. Not only with the animation style but with its content😫. At this point why do they keep making these movies if no one likes them. They could make actually original movies with a finished plot and good animation and even add a few gay characters just to make them happy. They literally have no reason to keep making this many fails.
For their 100th anniversary, I’m shocked they didn’t make a movie about Mickey Mouse. There’s the whole, “it started with a mouse”, line.
October 16th should have been some kind of benchmark for them, but as usual, this cancer mouse dropped the ball. Walt is spinning so hard he'll pierce the heavens.

So, the protagonist wants all wishes to be granted, the king wants to control wishes and sees that not all wishes are good. Why does it seem like the protagonist is the evil one for allowing all wishes to be granted while the king looking sensible and realistic for filtering bad wishes?
