    As you mention go and empty triangle, i wander if the go term of "shibori" is also used in shogi.

      Definitely! According to hidetchi dictionary it is binding a piece so it doesn't have much space to escape. But I am not sure what kind of positions it would apply to!

      @@ShogiHarbour ho really ? this is a bit different from shibori in go, according to sensei's library in go, shibori is a squeeze tesuji, a play or sequence that forces a player's stones into an inefficient shape by wringing out the liberties of a group through combination of sacrifice and forced capture.
      at least "inefficient shape" would be common to both definitions from my understanding.
      I need this Hidetchi dictionary 😃

      @ShogiDojoLyon I guess with drops in shogi it is really hard to "squeeze" as you can always exchange.. inefficient pieces would be asobigoma as you probably know

      Hisshi! Not a check sequence (tsume) but an unavoidable mate next turn

      Well she is a professional 1kyu which is like an amateur 5-6 dan, I believe!
