    When building your own solid body electric, it's nearly impossible not to shape it like a Tele or a Strat! Those two Fender guitars are so paramount!

    It always amazes me how glue can hold so well. Nice work!

    At first I was like "what the f is the Zesty Italian dressing gonna do?" But yeah, I see what you did there. It's a good idea for gluing

    How in the world is that a gorgeous guitar body? I thought that was the start point, not the end point. I expected so much more from this video.

    That would Look EPIC with a Whisky Finish. I use half Cup of warmed up Oil, 5 Shots of Whisky, 2 spoons Vinegar, and Chuck some Wire Wool in to a Jar. Let it Naturally Cool down give it a Stir then apply. Looks Really Warm and Rustic.

    Awesome. I just learned something that I was doing wrong while routing.

    Looking great. A little advice from an older guy. Do all your routing before you cut the outer shape. Take care.

    yellow pine making a comeback... Leo moved away from pine in the day for a good reason, one of the most unstable woods known, aside form balsa

    The wood is actually older, as the tree probably started to grow early 1800's or before...

    The wood was a little coarse and beaten up for my tastes, but I know people love the driftwood or relic look, be good to see the final guitar

    What the hell is the salad dressing about? If you are using wood glue… say so; instead of making all of us not so knowledgeable wood workers have to f()*€king guess. Thanks for the beautiful guitar body.

    If you want to prevent the boards sliding over the wet glue joints, just throw some course table salt in the glue.

      Opposing steps. Tongue and groove. Something other than 4 pieces at one joint. Unless, it's going to be encased in epoxy resin.

    How come nobody ever uses dowels when joining slabs of wood? I was taught always reinforce slabs of wood when making furniture ( I know it’s two different things) but when a strung guitar is under enormous tension why is it never done this way?

    • @stillcamillus4287
      @stillcamillus4287 Год назад +1

      right, i was wondering why he didn't use biscuits.

    • @charlesoliver2535
      @charlesoliver2535 Год назад

      It usually is reinforced, even in instrument making.

    • @alanpecherer5705
      @alanpecherer5705 Год назад +3

      Without giving you an answer, the tension, in the end, is not "enormous". I've never heard of a real Fender being biscuited or doweled together. I've seen different pieces of the body lamination crack at the seam which results in a finish crack, but unless the body was deliberately held and smashed over something hard, I've never seen a Fender-type body come apart in 50-odd years.

    • @conordyer2307
      @conordyer2307 Год назад +1

      Because yo dont sit on guitars, wood glue is as strong as the wood itself when clamped properly....so it wont come apart at all.

      Aren't most Fenders "solid" body? Meaning they are "solid"? I realize many of the Gibson Les Paul types aren't, but Strats and Tele's?

    Still looks like a railway sleeper that's absorbed oil, coal dust and all manner of unmentionable muck.
    At about 3.30 it started to look as if there were real possibilities for interesting book-matching, but then . . . ???
    Maybe when it's been sanded, finally shaped and properly stained and/or lacquered it will be something to admire . . . but not yet.
    I assume that will be part 2, so let's give it the benefit of doubt for now. I'm sure you can see what we, as yet, can't.
    Good music soundtrack though.

    Would be terrific to find a producer that brings all related links to their masterpieces. I've seen this jewel, i've searched later for part II, III, etc..(through copy/paste in the search bar), i've found nothing. I'm a simple d**b a*s moron, i guess... :(

    Один чувак взял лучшую кожу , лучшую подошву ... А потом намазал кожу клеем и придал форму ботинок . Больше я не возвращался на его канал . Тут всё аналогично .
