Amareshwar Mahadeo Temple on the way to Ranthambhor National Park and approx 7 km from Railway station. This is oldest Shiva temple popularly known as Amareshwar Mahadeo It is located in the middle of high hills and is considered as a sacred temple. The Temple is one of the major religious attractions near the town of Sawai Madhopur with the beautiful green hills. Amareshwar Mahadeo is around 1200 years old temple as old as Ranthambhore Fort discovered past 300-400 years. To reach temple in early years was almost impossible because of dense forest all around. Till today one has to walk/drive for one km inside the forest area via Ranthambhore road.
Apart from its religious and historical significance, the temple has emerged as a major picnic spot for the residents of Sawai Madhopur with enchanting waterfall, nullah and beautiful groves in its vicinity during rainy season. There are different bath areas for men and women. The Temple attracts a number of tourists because of the surrounding natural beauty.
अमरेश्वर महादेव मंदिर रणथंभौर राष्ट्रीय उद्यान के रास्ते में और रेलवे स्टेशन से लगभग 7 किमी दूर है। यह सबसे पुराना शिव मंदिर है जो अमरेश्वर महादेव के नाम से लोकप्रिय है। यह ऊंची पहाड़ियों के बीच में स्थित है और इसे एक पवित्र मंदिर माना जाता है। यह मंदिर खूबसूरत हरी पहाड़ियों वाले सवाई माधोपुर शहर के पास प्रमुख धार्मिक आकर्षणों में से एक है। अमरेश्वर महादेव लगभग 1200 साल पुराना मंदिर है जो रणथंभौर किले जितना ही पुराना है जिसे पिछले 300-400 सालों में खोजा गया था। शुरुआती वर्षों में मंदिर तक पहुंचना लगभग असंभव था क्योंकि चारों ओर घना जंगल था। आज तक रणथंभौर रोड के माध्यम से वन क्षेत्र के अंदर एक किमी तक पैदल/ड्राइव करके जाना पड़ता है। बाद में मानव निर्मित मार्ग बनाया गया था।
अपने धार्मिक और ऐतिहासिक महत्व के अलावा, यह मंदिर बरसात के मौसम में अपने आसपास के मनमोहक झरनों, नालों और खूबसूरत पेड़ों के कारण सवाई माधोपुर के निवासियों के लिए एक प्रमुख पिकनिक स्थल के रूप में उभरा है। पुरुषों और महिलाओं के लिए अलग-अलग स्नान क्षेत्र हैं। मंदिर आसपास की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के कारण बड़ी संख्या में पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करता है।
