Hey man! I am pretty new to music production and wanted to ask how you made the melody vocal chop (or synth?) for the drop at 0:33. Forever would be in your debt lol - love that sound.
@@deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee6925 hey sorry for just now getting back, the synth is called SQ8L. Hit the OSC 1 button then change the “wave” to voice 3. Believe it or not Porter loves presets😂 crazy to me, but he always makes it work
@@EtymTV That's the Something Comforting Lead, not the same as this one. The one for "Alma" is from Roland Zenology (it's one of the vocal lead presets) it's in the free version as well.
@@lostaud_io not to be mean and agree with him because you did show the techniques, but the point of the original song is its supposed to tell the story of producing a song. He keeps experimenting and keeps quickly repeating things because hes tweaking it and trying to create something cool
@@MrBumpalicious Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but tutorials are meant to be a guide and starting point for other producers who are looking for a basic understanding of achieving something similar in terms of sound I understand that Porter has his own internalized meaning for the song he created and I doubt he did it the way I showed in the video but this is what I would do if I was trying to figure out how to even fathom whatever he did to get the specific sound he did.
Every song has a point. Most remixes get rid of them. Dullscythe is still a song like any other. A remix isn’t meant to carry the same weight as the original. Stop being a purist, the remix isn’t meant to hold onto the same story.
So good, I've been wondering how to get this sort of choppy sound without granular synthesis.
Thx for tutorial.
From Russia with love
Awesome tutorial! Glad I got this recommended :)
wow this is so helpful THANKS!

For the person that liked my comment, If you’re also looking please reply to me. I found it and can share once I get back home from vacation
@@EtymTV hi I’m not the original person who liked the comment but would love to see how you made it!
@@deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee6925 I got you - it’s a free synth preset online. I’m at work, will try to remember to message back afterwards

Beat repeat is perfect for this
i agree! I just wish beat repeat received some love from Ableton i feel like its missing a lot of core features.
I really liked the track it was sampled from! Is it released?
Fr I loved it
Is there a way to do this with fl studio?
yes use slicex!!
@@lostaud_io Thank you so much!!
this is bad and hurts the ears. you missed the point of dullscythe completely.
What
Can you explain the point of dullscythe? I must have missed it.
